All the kissing and hugging crap was on Chris this time, but something tells me, with these warnings in mind, there might be some asshats who will try to get him in hot water for shits and giggles. Like, give Chris permission to hug or kiss them and then try to start some unwanted bullshit about Chris assaulting them, "Whhhaaaa? I NEVER gave you such permission!" Maybe someone really should stay with Chris during these kind of events, not just to keep him in line but to help him out in situations like this.

I couldn't have the patience to do that. I would have walked away the second he started talking to me like an assistant. That whole "Did you upgrade my Bronycon pass?" question and only days after he got kicked out of a con and then sold items from his breakdown video for a profit. He does not give a fuck.

I don't know why shit like this bothers me. It's not really a-logging. It's not particularly mean and it's not that what you're saying is a greater than 50% chance of being wrong. I just find this mindset defeatist and simpleton, and the kinds of people who need to loudly and proudly declare their pessimism wholly negative for perhaps the wrong reasons. It doesn't pass my sniff test.

I don't think he's actually that crazy, but he obviously needs someone to sit down and help him stop clinging to fantasy shit to escape his life in addition to someone actually helping his life be less shitty.

I'm not terribly hopeful based on recent events, but I'm not being defeatist. I just think really helping Chris would involve someone like Rocky running interference locally and helping to set up what is going to become of Chris after Barb dies. I'm not sure that any more simple and immediate help will do much good in the long run. Chris is unmoored and drifting off to sea and he's incapable of realizing that he may be heading for big trouble. He needs a lifestyle tugboat. I don't know if that's possible long distance.

There's something disturbing about Chris going off on that weird schizo rant. It's like when you've had a dog for years and it's the sweetest dog ever - then one day it just bites down on your leg as hard as it fucking can. It really throws you off and disturbs you for a while.
We've known he believes dumb things for a very long time - I think the earliest time he mentioned it was when he said he believed Roger Rabbit was real - but I might be mistaken. The thing is, he didn't go on about it. I know people in real life who say "I believe the Earth is actually flat!" and I just silently think they're retarded but it doesn't make me judge their sanity because it's not something they go around keeping in their head day in day out and actually believing it to an extent that it affects their day to day routine.
We've known that he has conversations with "Sonichu" but that's par the course for a man who has the mental faculties of an 8 year old. An imaginary friend, whatever.
This is something else though. This is Time Cube levels of fucking crazy. This is something where if he was left to his own devices he would probably start writing a manifesto about the attacking Atari nation or whatever the fuck. He drove out of his way to meet an anime girl IRL.

I'm glad Chris is attempting to help Null, but I believe eventually, the shoe will drop. With that being said, the best thing people can do is leave him alone and wait for him to make such a big mess of his life that mental health evaluations will be ordered.
With type A cluster behavior is exhibiting, it is believed that you can develop schizophrenia.

It's been mentioned before in the "Chris at Too Many Games" thread that Chris (although this is still a point of contention) is not like any other lolcow. While other lolcows possess one or two archetypal lolcow traits, Chris still remains the archetype. He is gullible, selfish, a menace, a victim, a bully, pitiable, deplorable, a liar, a child, a sex-pest, an inspiration, and genuinely insane. Furthermore, and most importantly, he is all of these things at once. He is inward-confliction and self-contradiction living and personified, turned up to eleven.
So, where in the hell am I going with all of this? Only to say that because he embodies so many unique extremes, he evokes entirely different, yet equally powerful, reactions from everyone who crosses his path, both offline and online. It's why so many here on the Farms can agree on most other things in life, yet possess opposite opinions when it comes to Chris.
This is why I wouldn't be offput by someone expressing a negative or generally pessimistic opinion regarding where they think Chris is or is headed in his life, so long as it doesn't devolve into LoGatto or Hirtes-style antics. Likewise, those who are optimistic about Chris, wish him well, and/or help him out in one form or another, are completely justified in doing so.
My final point is that, because Chris is so equally deserving of the conflicting, emotional reactions he elicits, this forces us to reconsider whether any one of our reactions have been correct. Our norms, and indeed our very language, make judging and describing Chris incredibly difficult, because he absolutely is that much of an anomaly. He wouldn't have multiple websites dedicated to him otherwise.
