The fact that a man can drop out of college, get famous blogging about a controversy in video games, drunkenly punch a cop, go to prison and then make a living out of a stream where he mocks e celebs, interviews lunatics and gets blackout drunk, alienate his friends and family, make a heartfelt apology and go on is what makes America a great country my friends.
It's not so much that Americans are great people, it's that America is place where they can still get their much needed supplies of junk food, hard liquor and highly lethal prescription 'medication' despite having no abilities that would be marketable outside the US.
When Marx wrote about how his utopia would be 'from each according to his ability, to each according to his need' he was actually talking about the US where if you can stream for a couple of hours a day until you pass out from excess that would kill a Roman, the US will give you all the booze, pills and barbecue you need to continue killing yourself. And the amazing thing is that the stupid shit you do along the way provides material for a whole ecosystem of people mocking you. And none of them have any skills that would be marketable in a rational society either.
It's a thing of beauty. For most of human history people have worked like dogs for 10+ hours a day to try to buy food or written great music and still ended up starving, dying of some horrible disease or being murdered by their government. But in America the most useless person is still a functioning member, at least on their own terms, of society.
