Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

dragging rekeita into this is a good move for PR purposes. point out his videos, show some clips, portray him as a massive insensitive shitlord who incites or at least condones harrassment of the innocent victim womyns, and make sure to keep mentioning how vics lawyer is good friends with the guy and show clips of him appearing on stream with rekeita, etc. if you get a jury full of clueless boomers, especially women boomers, they will eat that shit up and come to view vics side in a really negative light.

how well it will actually work out in practice i can't say, but it's not a terrible move at all in my opinion.
I disagree. there is no worse move you can do than have a judge watch rekeita's videos, especially the one with shane.

the reason being it exposes many of the hypocrisy's of the defense, and shows how many times they lied.

Finally, it gives rekieta publicity which only helps him and if he testifies? I do not want to be the defense.

We don't. Until we do. @Army Burger has a reason for posting these things and nobody has to respond to them. He should keep posting them. It might be nice to have a tag the poster can put on these so they can specifically be ignored, but until then, just cope with it for Christ's sake.
Ass News Network has its own cliquey pecking order within its community. From an insider and lurker, there are pleasant people, but due to these dipshits throwing their weight around, and not even including recent events and a lot more throughout the years, many stop going there, unless they are those who share the mindsets of the staff.

Pedro Sanchez spoke it best on the Anime News Network thread.

Without power leveling too bad, I can tell you you are extremely accurate in your assessment of them. I was a bit close to these guys and the website as a whole many years ago. Nothing major, but enough to know if you were an intern you were a slave and had to kiss ass and worship the higher ups if you wanted any hope of being brought into their clique. Or fuck your way to the top like Hope did. That's how most new blood got promoted. All the new writers they hired like Micchy, Nick, Steve, and etc got hired because they were friends of Zac and the others on Twitter. They had open writing auditions and it just so happened all of them were a part of that clique prior to their applications. Same goes to the forum moderators who were also friends. They had their own little IRC chatroom back in the day to berate and make fun of people and shoot the shit. No idea if it's still around, I heard they had plans to make a discord awhile back.

Hope (Jacob) also did a huge expose on why Steven Universe was the best series ever and pushed it hard on ANN back in the late 2013s/2014s on ANN for the exact same reasons she gushes about Utena. But then, Hope is a fucking insane bitch who insists Ikuhara is a transwoman in denial and hopes he'll one day realize he's trans and embrace his troon self so she'll latch onto anything LGBTQAIPD+ related. I really can't stress enough how much of an insane bitch Hope is. I'm sure Lord Kat can back me up on this if he interacted with her to any extent at his time on TGWTG. I genuine think she has mental issues. Beyond the obvious ones, I mean.

Here's a good example to showcase the kind of mentality they have. They routinely insist they don't ban people for wrongthink, but that's only because they usually just put them on moderation instead. Which means all their posts have to be manually approved by a moderator before they show up in a topic. The trick is to just never approve their post. So they never get to post on the forums again and they get to still claim they never banned them: a double win for them and they get to keep that facade of neutrality.

I'll tell you straight up the only person there who's a decent person is Theron, and he he gets a lot of shit both onsite and off for his milquetoast and neutral opinions on things like fanservice, sexual content, and icky stuff. If I had to guess, they keep him around so they don't completely look like a joke website. They always give him the hugely popular shows like Sword Art Online, Cross Ange, and Rising of a Shield Hero which they know are huge and they can't outright shit on and he gives them decent to good scores because if anyone else on that site reviewed them they'd trash the hell out of them and pretty much lose any credibility they had in the anime community. Theron is the decoy while the rest of the staff talks complete shit on thier Twitters and blogs.

And yeah, they shit on YouTubers because they're pissed more people would rather watch Gigguk, Lost Pause, Digibrony Mother's Cuckment than their shitty blog articles. Which is why they resort to clickbait and shit like this Vic stuff. They've tried to diversity numerous times, each with spectacular failure. Their video streaming service failed, their webcomic failed, their attempt at their own YouTube channel failed. They just can't do it. Their upkeep is pretty small, and their writers get paid for shit so I wouldn't expect them to go out of business anytime soon though.

Everything he's said, I can certify.

And yes, PenPen Shit Substitute is a part of that clique. They deserve the criticism of the public and everything that's coming to them. Army Burger giving out the daily dose to the most vocal of them is a god given duty, and I am ever more grateful he's continuing its course.

And about things that make me go "hmmm...." I've been getting an awful lot of A-Log and Autistic responses lately from newcomers and some older members.... Have I caused that much asshurt? Did I do that?

This case is a niche case and the mainstream media will never care about it.

That's what Oberlin thought. Didn't work out quite the way they'd hoped.

What, having an anti-SLAPP lawyer sit in on the deposition to see if a TCPA would work? Or filing a TCPA to delay for at least 2 months, likely years if they appeal it repeatedly?

Hiring a guy who specializes in exactly the thing that's your only chance of not losing utterly.

Okay, I think you guys are going about this wrong. I think Rial may have done this behind Toye's back even. Or twisted it a little bit. It's obvious Casey is having a difficult time cooperating with these two numbskulls since they are very demanding so Rial got another lawyer who says they'll do as she asks. And they are going to file the TCPA because they do not have the full context of the lawsuit.

As for the money, it's all coming from Ron Toye. And a woman is very good at spending money that isn't hers. BHBH might have to drop the lawsuit on Rial (not Toye) because she will fight to her very last cent to save face. I'm sure Casey isn't happy about this. I really want to ask Nick a bunch of questions about this but I am sure he will go over it tonight.

But I honestly don't know what the plan is. He could literally have a recording of him saying he is a rapist and while it would surprise us, it wouldn't magically turn the whole situation around. Most people stopped caring which way it is. A bunch of ISWV would be heartbroken and probably quit social media, and the rest of us will laugh at how pathetic you were wasting 6 figures just to get that. The situation won't really change that much since everybody will be gone. After two weeks, it'll be completely forgotten. How many people talk about Cosby still? But in reality, this will piss people off and we will see a massive spike in the GFM. Things are going to get interesting.

That'd be pretty stupid and borderline unethical to do. If he genuinely thinks this new guy is more skilled, he should have given a recommendation from the get-go instead of taking money from people he didn't think he could properly represent, given that the anti-slapp motion is kind of a given in defamation suits, as both Nick and Ty noted a long time ago.

There's nothing unethical about it if they only need this particular lawyer to argue the anti-SLAPP.

There was always going to be a TCPA filed in this lawsuit. The only question has been when.

Ron is the one who was talking about having 3 lawyers weeks ago, so this has been in motion for a while.

Nor uncommon. Lawyers use specialists.

Where is all this money coming from? Is the bigger conspiracy who the financiers are?
I wonder if they are absolutely certain Vic has to pay at the end of this because of the TCPA would make Vic have to pay. So they are like, spending all their savings or something because they think they will get it back
So to them they are spending as much as they possibly can to try and bankrupt Vic because in their mind, he will lose the TCPA and have to pay for all of it
I don't know how this shit works but correct me if I'm wrong, but this could be a way for them to try and fuck Vic over financially

Monica can’t outspend Vic.

I wondered about MoRonica going off the reservation and hiring this dude on their own, but the signs this was their plan were there from the beginning. Didn't Nick call it like the first stream on the case? Within the first week at least. If anything I could see Casey suggesting they get an expert in a futile attempt to distance himself. Probably the best situation for him would be if they brought it up as the time came near, he said he wouldn't file the TCPA because of the agreement he made in court despite it having been the plan the whole time, and them going off on their own to hire. I don't doubt that all isn't well within their camp. MoRonica wouldn't have been tweeting shit if they respected Casey and understood the gravity of what they're facing.

Seems very suspect to me that a lawyer would spend months racking up billables for himself and a co-worker/former co-worker, file some questionable responses, play chicken shit discovery games to the point where both the judge and the opposing counsel are now at the very least sick of your shit and then and only then do you suggest to your clients to get a TCPA specialist in to look at the case. Would it not have been more ethical to tell them to go see the TCPA specialist at the start to find out if they've even got a chance fighting the defamation and only worry about the TI parts yourself? I'm assuming they didn't hire this lawyer at the start when responding to the suit to begin with considering everything that has gone on up until now.

It's not unethical in the "they can't do that! It's cheating!" way but more in the "why the fuck did you spend months telling your clients you could handle this and now at the 11th hour and tens of thousands of dollars later you've suddenly decided you need help?" way.

We don't know that's what happened. The plan may have always been to hire an anti-SLAPP specialist when they were ready to file one.

It's currently almost 6pm in Dallas, so it doesn't look like a TCPA is getting filed today.

Casey was representing the client before the court. Not simply himself. The Judge will almost certainly view Casey’s promise in court as applying to them all. Even the new guy. Which should be fun. Since I suspect the new guy is going to drop the TCPA at close of business today.

Remember back a couple of weeks ago when Shane said Ron and Monica had THREE law firs representing them. I smell fig ops a foot.

I'm confused, didn't they essentially promise the judge NOT to file a TCPA until AFTER everyone was deposed? Has everyone been deposed yet and I missed it? Or are they just going to up and do what they told the judge they weren't going to do?
This thread goes a little fast so forgive me

Filing a TCPA after going before a judge and saying you wont file one is the dumbest thing they could do at this moment, like letting a pitbull babysit your kids on the 4th of july levels of dumb.

Unless of course they plan to file one on monday morning after everyone's deposition, I wonder if this guy being brought on means that they got something from Vic's deposition that they think will help with the TCPA filing.
