"We outsourced those jobs to ourselves, that means we're IMMUNE TO ALL RESPONSIBILITY. Checkmate, Department of Justice." - Someone who is not a laywer

Is this dumb bitch actually SERIOUS?

I won't get into the legal jargon of this, but Leah if victims start coming forward and detailing the Sacred Ointment Couch then Funimation is in big trouble for a lot of reasons...This hoe is trying to dunk on people calling Failmation out, and to a lesser extent Chuck Huber because he exposed these fuckers but she flopped harder than Kevin James in that dreadful movie "Here Comes the Boom" when he attempted to dunk a basketball.

Now go back to that pit of irrelevance, lest you find yourself on the Couch again which is how your career got started ya thot.

@Blain20_ posted a video from AnimeIcon 2011 where Jamie Marchi tells a story about a crazy fan who she credits as the reason why they had "those locks" at FUNimation and why people needed a pass and a badge to get in.

She said this guy had previously entered Funimation's studio when they were in their old building and preformed a monologue for the talent coordinator and was asked to leave. He kept trying to audition and was not very good. She said that he had moved from Tennessee to be a voice actor at FUNimation and during a panel at a convention he made a scene about how he was the next Vic Mignogna. He left and later, he cornered a voice actress against a wall and demanded that she help him get into the industry. He was kicked out of the convention and was no longer allowed at any conventions in Texas. After he stormed into FUNimation at their new studio and had to be forcibly removed, "those locks" were put in.

The comments say that this was Johnny Otaku.

From Adam Shaheen's affidavit,

So some crazy guy who thought he was the next Vic Mignogna makes a scene at FUNimation. The employees jokingly refer to their new security system as "Vic Locks". 10 years later, this bit of FUNimation lore is used to impugn Vic's character by someone who was there when it happened and would know the history behind the so-called "Vic Locks".

Apparently, there was a video of the altercation Jamie describes in the video, but it's no longer on YouTube.

Once again these idiots shoot themselves in the foot because they forgotten the golden rule, the internet never forgets.
I'm still in favour of Glenn Close to play Ron Toye given his history with beating his partners and animal abuse. She's played the role well once in Fatal Attraction, I'm sure she could do it again.
Don’t forget she was Cruella. So yeah definitely can channel Ron’s desire to chop up poor innocent puppies.

She conveniently tiptoes around the bulk of that original post which was about Sabat having a casting couch, too.

Saying 'Funi aren't responsible for that' is a fucking bizarre hill to die on when you're trying to champion Monica Rial as a martyr for victims of sexual harassment.
Yeesh, what a tremendously shitty take. It’s not even a fucking defense, much less a refutation. It really makes it look like she knows something shady is going on, because if you personally know nothing, that’s what you say - certainly not, “You can’t punish us for any of that!”

FUNimation isn't responsible for anything that happens at their office even if they're compliant in the crimes and other misdeeds that happen under their roof.

This would be Leah Clark's position.

I see why they don't post any notices or policies anywhere now. Anyway, it's not unusual for a company to distance themselves from the actions of their employees, what is unusual is that funimation took action for one and didn't for the other.

Strange isn't it?

They will be playing requiem sooner or later.

Probably Sabat's office on a somewhat daily basis

Its almost like these fucks only care about themselves and what could happen to them and not stopping sexual harassment and abuse.

I think the main evidence has yet to see any light. Nick referenced that he's heard stories, but it seems like he's waiting on named individuals (Stephanie Nadolny amongst others) to corroborate what he's already heard. Must be nice to have your wife head up HR.....

Is the evidence just women's stories?? Hmmm, I don't believe that is real evidence, even if the accused put his wife in HR. Unless there are four with the same story of the same event, of course. I don't see why I'd believe Nadolny without question when I didn't believe Rial.

It depends on what you mean by Harassment? Do we have solid evidence he runs a casting couch? Not yet, but we likely have enough suspicions to raise probable cause.

Hmmm. I feel I've heard such a similar argument before, raised against Vic.

Are their four witnesses to a casting couch event?? If not, I would contest having enough suspicions to go on.

Unquestionably yes. Colleen Klinkenbeards 2009 panel video where she talks about Sabat taking some of her performances and audio engineering them into porn. Her first week there. Yeah that is actual actionable sexual harassment. And if that’s the workplace he ran, then there were no standards or protections offered anyone walking in the door.

You say "Unquestionably". I presume that means we have the recordings/audio pornography Sabat made then?? Is there a link to that I can have?? Or is it just Klinkenbeard's testimony?? If it is just testimony, does she have three other witnesses to the harassment??

The hard evidence against Sabat is the audio tapes, there's a lot of explaining that needs to happen about those.

Are the audio tapes just the sacred ointment ones, or are you referring to something I haven't heard yet?? If it's not the sacred ointment recordings, could you drop a link??

The soft evidence is the suggestions from various people there was a casting couch and the signals they may be ready to move forward.

Unless the soft evidence has four witnesses I'm afraid soft evidence is not true evidence or worthy of consideration at all. Again, so far the Quranic standard hasn't lead me wrong on previous incidents, so I'm sticking with it for the foreseeable future.

My guess is the roots lie with Sabat, he sees Vic as a threat.

Or he just doesn't like Vic. Never underestimate human pettiness.

Samantha? Our fake swatter? This sped got the con wrong. Johnny Otaku cornered a voice actor at Yulecon 2008.

Who was at Yulecon 2008?

Johnny Otaku seems like someone who'd get an lolcow thread but I still have to wonder how embellished this story was.

What! Self intitled, selfasorbed, narcissistic, degenerates, only care about themselfs, and not others.
Color me Shocked.

I'm guessing perhaps the Kiwis haven't been to many anime conventions? Every single one of them that manages to book multiple VA's has several 18+ panels all in the evening. This is at least hundreds per year. Why isn't anyone scouring for recordings? They would make the Funi leaks look tame. The format is typically Q&A that goes 80% sexual. The drunk VA's, not actually being clever, go for cheap laughs by being as vulgar as possible about fucking each other.

When the female VA's participate, all the male VA's include them in jokes about fucking, orgies, how they would have sex with each other, etc.

When attractive female audience members ask questions, I've heard the male VA hosts work in jokes about how they're going to need to get their dicks sucked if they want to get a response.

This is constant proof of a joking atmosphere involving insane amounts of sexual innuendo and straight forward references.

I'm all for whatever type of humor they want to provide but this kind of comedy is definitely a part of the culture that they're all involved with.

Most people aren't allowed to record the 18+ panels for this reason. They're well aware of the repercussions of doing what they do. A lot of the more intense panels that they do have a requirement of don't talk, don't post. And people eat that shit up because they believe they're gonna get some juicy insider info or the fujos thing some gay porn is about to be acted out.

But....There is a curious factor here. The voice actors themselves are usually required to record for the company or agency they work for if they're booked through an agency. Recordings of these panels in their entirety are usually filed for safe keeping. Usually nothing suspicious happens, but in the event that the VAs get in hot water for something their superiors have access to a record.

But on the subject of VAs talking about other VAs, it isn't seen as too suspect. It does happen though.
We'll have to see what happens in Round 2. If there are any key players in this case who have an agency they go through, that'll be who to go after for evidence. I don't know if anyone here does operate through one though. I know it's a little more common on the video game VA side or people who also do TV/movies (Reuben Langdon, for instance).
