We have recreational marijuana in Washington and it's not only better than what I used to buy illegally but it's also way the fuck cheaper. I doubt there's much of an option to make money selling pot illegally here now unless you want to cross state lines with it. Which I wouldn't recommend.

Last I checked gen z are predicted to be a very conservative generation as a backlash to the current left leaning trends, and its been showing itself to be a pretty accurate prediction so far. It'll happen sooner or later. He'll piss someone off or piss management off. He can't pull that kind of bullshit and get the cops in the building and be disruptive and harass residents forever before someone makes an issue of it one way or another. Its too disruptive to the environment

As convicts and criminals, Lucas' neighbors likely live by certain norms. Some they learn on the street, others in lock up. Lucas' seems alien to these norms. He apparently learned little from his time in jail.

For Lucas, it makes sense to call the police because he's suspicious that someone is banging a zoomer, and may sell meth. It makes sense because Lucas is acting to satisfy his impulses. Lucas feels jealous and bad, so of course he strikes out as cowardly as can be.

For his neighbors, it makes sense, too. It means Lucas is a rat. A snitch. He's a piece of shit and his name is no good. There are rules for dealing with the Lucas' of the world.

Imagine some felon, fortunate enough to be at Pioneer, unfortunate enough to be Lucas' neighbor, and genuinely trying to get their life together. In the world they're trying to leave behind, Lucas needs to roll it up. The temptation is to encourage him to. With violence. But that could get them in trouble, so they grit their teeth and try to ignore him.

But sooner or later, Lucas will encounter and affront someone at Pioneer who doesn't give a fuck, and still has convict values. He'll be smashed, at great cost (fresh charges, violation of probation or parole, lost housing).

So Lucas, if he continues to act the way he does (which seems likely), is at risk at Pioneer, and puts others at risk. He's too selfish and dense to see it.
