I wonder what monkey tastes like.
Ebola apparently
Is anybody else thinking the only way to make this more entertaining would be to give the monkeys weapons?

You can see it hinted at with many of the replies here concerning how Donald Trump and his government have responded to this. But so far I haven't really seen anyone call a spade a spade.I'm sort of wondering why they haven't used the EAS system yet. I mean most of the time the related equipment just sits around gathering dust until there's an Amber Alert from four states away that's deemed 'urgent enough.' Obviously most people already know about all of this and it might induce panic, but is it possible that there are still people in the U.S totally oblivious to this? They test the damned thing constantly, yet when an actual crisis happens they don't even utilize it. It's kind of interesting to me anyway.
If 9/11 taught us anything, it's that psychological warfare against the American public is so god-damn effective that it'll drive us all mad for entire election cycles. You can see it hinted at with many of the replies here concerning how Donald Trump and his government have responded to this. If anyone in the government comes out and says things plainly and matter of fact, the fragile American public simply won't be able to handle it. They'll completely lose their shit, start smearing it all over the walls, and a few will remember that video of the homeless guy from last week and think that maybe they should be eating it.
The US government is in a bind because a large enough portion of their population are so coddled and spoiled that they will tear the entire place apart if they were told they need to change their lifestyle, buckle down, and get ready for some hard times.
That's why the EAS hasn't been used. That's why the president is trying to temper everything he says about this, and that is why the government is taking its time with things. They're going to have to break a few eggs to cook this omelet because otherwise they are lighting a match after the pilot light has been out all evening.

We skipping Deus Ex and going straight to Fallout 3.
War...War never changes...
I find it hard to wrap my head around the abject prickishness, obliviousness and selfishness of some people.
Yeah there's your problem right there. Especially when bosses travel in packs, you can expect that they live in a bubble of arrogance, hubris, and "fuck you, peasant!"Relative works in a office owned by a company with three main bosses.
Gotta set up a smooth rectangular monolith first. Is anybody else thinking the only way to make this more entertaining would be to give the monkeys weapons?
From now on, this illness is called "Tiananmen's Revenge"Oy vey!

Tomorrow he's going to play the victim over the responses he gets. So predictable.
That's part of the big problem. Only a few decades moving the National Guard out was more the government saying: "Damn, this flood/volcano/hurricane/disease/forest fire is fucking ruining your community! We're bringing in the Guard! We'll be helping establishing power, water, medical, getting the roads cleared, doing food drops, going door to door to check on people! Don't worry, we're here to help!"You can see it hinted at with many of the replies here concerning how Donald Trump and his government have responded to this. WASHINGTON — Despite insistent promises from the Trump administration, coronavirus testing in the United States appears to be proceeding with a marked lack of urgency. An examination of state and federal records by Yahoo News finds that American states are, on average, testing fewer than 100 people per day — while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had tested fewer than 100 people total in the first two days of this week.
Redd also revealed in his testimony that the total number of people tested for the coronavirus by the CDC was 1,784. That means that, as of Wednesday morning, the CDC had tested only 77 people for the coronavirus since Sunday. According to a CDC spokesman, the number that had been tested as of Sunday was 1,707.

I like how calling it the Wuhan Virus is now racist.
Unlike West Nile, Lyme Disease, Zika, German Measles, Lassa Fever, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Ebola, Norovirus, Coxsackievirus, Marburg Virus, Hendra Virus, etc. etc.
Fuck hoarders
People have become SO FUCKING ENTITLED about everything. Every-fucking-thing.
powerlevel: A relative of mine lives near a casino, there are often floods in the area. I have seen people get out, in knee deep water, to move a barricade, then drive through, then hit the dip where suddenly the water's halfway up their windows, then TRY TO SUE THE COUNTY for not enabling them to get to the casino. My relative has been sued for trying to warn people off before the County puts up the blocks, they threaten him or just gun the engine and go by him, and end up with water over the hood of their car. Because, goddamn it, they're ENTITLED to that casino, and fuck you mother nature for trying to stop them and why didn't the government stop them and why didn't my relative do SAR to help them before they got wet and why won't he carry them out of the water?
It's constant. It's in everything. People have become so goddamn spoiled and entitled and just goddamn selfish out the ass.
And it's just making it worse.
Most of the suspected cases in my county are surprisingly in a very rich town. I suspect they might have all just got back from ski holiday, it fits the demographic.Just heard something today that rankled.
Relative works in a office owned by a company with three main bosses. This trio went on a fancy blokey ski holiday last week to one of the affected countries on the contient that borders Italy. Have now returned and whole office is edging around them, worried they';re carrying the Wu Flu.
One of the three has a severely, really fucked-up disabled son with all kind of physical conditions on top of mental disability. The kind of kid who will be basically fucked up severely, possibly to death by pneumonia. Kid wasn't taken on holiday (god forbid), but this guy seems oblivious to, or simply uncaring that if he picked up the new virus on his precious ski holiday, he will probably pass it onto his long-suffering wife who is his son's main caregiver, and his own son could die from it.
I find it hard to wrap my head around the abject prickishness, obliviousness and selfishness of some people. Imagine risking your family's lives so you can fuck about on a ski slope with your work buddies. It is however confirming my view that persons who take fancy winter ski breaks are generally exceptional cunts.
