Flight to Denver is <33% full.
Damn, was considering traveling a few states over and back later next month by car. With how low air travel is now I may just fly. Hopefully things calm down by then.

I’m really glad it hasn’t, the thought of this taking off in India or anywhere in Africa is not a good one. I’m also curious as to WHY. I would have thought Bangalore at least would get hit, with all the tech and pharma offices there, they get a lot of international travel.Being the second most populous nation I assumed we would get raped by corona chan but that doesn't seem to be happening.
I'm not sure about any of this. This morning the Johns Hopkins site wasn't updating for a while. Finally working. But something I noticed. What's going on in China? Any news?
No need. Just walk around downtown LA for an afternoon.I myself would rather we bring back gladiatorial death matches. Who wouldn't want to see meth heads and schizos fight to the death with glass shards, trash can lids and 2x4s? Maybe we can turn Donga's iron buffalo into an iron chariot! He'd go 10000-0!
True, but also the same symptoms as other random winter viruses. I have kids in school and regular family contact with little nursery age kids who are at the constant snotty nose stage.Colds don't give fevers. You're pretty much on par with the symptoms, included that the kids get hit less hard.
The CDC has said they opted not to use the Chinese tests because they were throwing 40% false negatives. So they were failing to detect the disease 40% of the time. The problem was their home grown cobbled together test also had problems.
Please take care of yourself. Every symptom you have is a match for coronavirus. Even the tingling limbs, while not an official symptom, has been heard from multiple unofficial sources everywhere this pandemic spreads.cheers, appreciate the thoughts! I’m Ok, I’m sure it’s just another bloody cough, this year has been shit for them.
On the off chance this is it, so far it’s gone:
Very high fever and sweating one night, and tingling in limbs, gone in the late morning, followed by a gradual onset of shortness of breath and a dry unpleasant cough. Palpitations, low fever which fluctuates and fatigue. Same as any chest bug except the palpitations, which are unpleasant. I can tell I’m fighting something off but I’m Ok as long as I don’t exert myself. Husband has same symptoms, kids have a minor cough. This is day 3. We are staying away from everyone as per local guidelines. Probably just a cold.
I think its a multitude of factors:I’m really glad it hasn’t, the thought of this taking off in India or anywhere in Africa is not a good one. I’m also curious as to WHY. I would have thought Bangalore at least would get hit, with all the tech and pharma offices there, they get a lot of international travel.
What’s your normal yearly distribution of things that cause pneumonia? I guess I’m thinking of it from the Northern European perspective where we have a very clearly defined cold and wet season which spawns flu and all the other crap we cough from November to March with. Obviously you guys have a different (more than one from north to south too) seasonal pattern. Would you expect to see respiratory/pneumonia cases now? Are you seeing any excess pressure on the system?
Why Africa and India and a few other places aren’t hit is curious. It may just be a case of it hasn’t got you yet, or there may be some environmental factor we aren’t seeing. Or you’re all just tough as old boots. Let’s hope it stays that way.
I've been watching this stream of live cameras from locked down Wuhan.
The place is like a ghost town.
Very few cars on the roads.
Most people I've seen in one place were at the new hastily built "hospital", about 5 people in hazmats.
There is more activity on the river, cargo boats floating by now and then.
Looking at those apartment buildings I wonder what the smell must be like.
Shipping containers worth of salt needed. The india HIV link has been, repeatedly, proven false, by india itself even. This whole article is full Q-anon level hysterical conspiracy. The 6% death rate has been debunked by singapore and south korea. The reinfection thing has never been proven true, and the few isolated cases are far more likely to be the result of false negatives from the error prone testing kits.
Both countries also have relatively homogenous populations, people who largely seem to follow directions, and easily closed borders, if you will.
Unfortunately, a lot of these "healthy young people" might be in for a rude awakening. Not to scaremonger, but every age group has fatalities, even people who don't have a significant medical history. Not saying UR GONNA DIE!!! It is just that our bodies are extremely complex biological organisms. They often fail in ways that elude doctors and even the most skilled forensic pathologists. Or younger people die of stuff that nobody could foresee.France and Belgium have more and more wide spread of age groups getting "severe" symptoms and aggravation from the virus, even if it still statistically hit the elderly much more, their narrative was "it only affects badly very old people, everyone else under 60 years old is fine."
Well, we all know chinese doctors and patients as low as the age of 34 died from it... Now there's a bunch of 30 to 40's year old cases that have their life pronostic engaged in a bunch of hospitals in France and Belgium.
Here's even 3 medics in Belgium in their 40's who are in intensive care being in severe condition / vital pronostic engaged.

It seemed real earlier, you have to remember they're at GMT +8 , so it's 4am in the morning now.If that is legit live stream, then it's weird as fuck. I mean, it looks like the whole city would be deserted. Like not just that there would be curfew in place, there is literally no-one, not even police/military in the streets. Wuhan has 11 million residents, it's completely impossible that in a city of such size there would not be some movement everywhere at all times of the day, quarantines and lockdowns or not. At least you should see the aforementioned authorities patrolling the streets, for how else can you enforce curfews?
I'm not jumping to conclusions, but if that stream is real then it can't be just because of the coronavirus, unless China has decided to stop the pandemic by literally killing all residents of Wuhan. But I highly doubt that even they could pull such a stunt off, considering the sheer size of Wuhan alone. It's more likely that the stream is not real, or that the truth is something else; for example that everyone has just fled the city or something.
I saw only one police car in front of one of the buildings, lights flashing. Other than that, nothing. At least you should see the aforementioned authorities patrolling the streets, for how else can you enforce curfews?
