The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

many? i only remember johnny, other than him nobody else even comes back from any of the previous games (unless you count lazlow lmao)
but it's been a while since i played the games, so i might have forgotten some

Karen/Michelle and UL Paper get shot in the massive gunfight at the art museum, Michael also kills Rocco from BoGT, Packie can potentially be fed to a cannibal cult and Marnie is now involved in a cult.

But yeah, they're not exactly main characters, but they did all appear in previous games.

You think that's true? That his death serves as a narrative consequence for his actions and that it's fitting?
That's debatable. If I had to compare it, I think Lisa The Painful handled this kind of situation much better (spoiler alert for that game, obviously).

You have a very similar set-up: a father, Brad Armstrong, living in the post-apocalypse while protecting his daughter, Buddy, the last woman alive. Both Brad and Joel are characterized as being tough, standoffish men suffering from trauma who are very protective of their daughters but while Joel changes over the course of TLOU to become a better person, Brad becomes worse. He already started as a neglectful addict who ignored his daughter's wishes for freedom and then when she's taken away from him, Brad goes on to kill dozens of innocent people in his quest to get her back, up to including his own adoptive son, becoming a literal monster in the process.

So even though Brad's a very sympathetic character and his goals are understandable, his death at the end of the game feels tragically inevitable because of his flaws. On the other hand, Joel's death doesn't have anything to do with his character's flaws. He's got his share of them, but killing a surgeon that was about to slice his daughter's head open for no good reason isn't one of them (because as TLOU1 stated, the Fireflies couldn't actually get a cure from those brains). He doesn't even get any good last words.

Which is why shoehorning Ellie's gf into existence is of no real consequence because there's no character development behind it.

Oh hey, another plotline that would've been totally interesting and not followed.

Like, how do you fall in love in an apocalypse? Genuinely when the daily struggle's hard as hell?

Good God Neil.

Dogs on their own is not a bad idea at all. In fact this is actually a really good idea, sure thing post apocalyptic societies will use dogs in a guard role, but to have NPCs cry out in anguish after you gut their doggos? Yeesh!

I'll bet that sick fuck even put in an achievement for hearing every dog's name get called out.

Cats. Throughout your adventure, you will come across many cats. As their owners' last light and hope in a dead world, these felines are very secure and comfortable despite the situation. Unfortunately, this makes them very friendly to strangers. They will approach and 'talk' to get nuzzles and ear scratches, which can alert nearby Infected and cultists. This game doesn't "swing" in another direction here either. While playing as Ellie you will have to grab them by their tails and beat them against an object until they die, which can often take up to ten in-game minutes. You'll have to deal with the fact that the owner will investigate the screams, fall to their knees and weep while they watch. Sometimes the owner will attack in retaliation; however, you may get lucky and see the owner commit suicide on the spot.

Fuck. This. Game.

What is this retarded shit? He's crowing about how he has dogs as an enemy, which has been a thing since the DOS days, and then edgelording about how you should totally feel bad about killing the doggos because he, the rape fetishist who kicked out women in his company for being better than him, wants you to feel bad so he can wank. This is despite the fact that they're pretty clearly attack dogs if they're trained to smell out and kill people so lolno wouldn't feel bad.

What a fart huffing faggot. Laugh at this fucking loser who fanboys over other malicious fucktards and whose criminally late to the woke cycle. Laugh as he will get kicked for being a massive fuck-up that made live events bank breaking for Sony.

Would be amazing if they edit the transgarbage stuff AND ! Change the scene where joel dies.

But we know that is less likely to happen ;/ , but hey is worth a shot to dream of since awful decisions been made i thought they woulda still have time to fix things up

They won't. Read their Tweets. They are proud of what they have done, even Troy Baker.

He's a SJWtard, it's not a big step to assume that he would also include the normalization of harming pets. I mean, look at China's and Islam's attitudes towards dogs. Abhorrend, really.
I wouldn't be surprised if he wants that for western civilizations too.

I love the contrast. One game gets delayed 4 months, allegedly to improve working conditions, and sells 13 million, the 3rd fastest-selling Switch game in the US ever, while another has been in development for 5 years and yet still somehow finds crunch necessary to get it over the line--ultimately dooming the whole project

How come I never hear shit like this about actually big expansive games like Breath of the Wild, GTAV or Fallout or Skyrim?

There's like 5 layers of "the PC way to address trannyism" in this image.
And boy am I glad that not even the most woke can follow what is and isn't the correct way to address trannies anymore.

My method was always correct by the way, "mentally ill attention seeking faggots." There, you're welcome.

Of course that was never followed. Exclusivity and monogamy are tools of the patriarchy.

Also, can we add that pregnancy after the end will fairly likely kill you or the child. There's a reason why there's all those child graves from before modern medicine. No vaccines. No real sanitation. Something as minor as being bitten on the thumb by a squirrel can end up with sepsis and multiple organ failure, because no accessible antibiotics or tetanus shots. And the fact that humanity's skulls have evolved faster than our pelvises. Yeah, if the blood loss or shock doesn't get you in a "natural childbirth" scenario, it's pretty likely to lead to infection. And that's assuming an uncomplicated birth. If it's breech, or the cord's wrapped around the neck, or shoulder dystocia, or similar, it's all over for you and the child.

As one of the leakers said, there is literally no reason except dog-shit management that TLOU2 didn't come out years ago.
The gameplay is practically copy-pasted from TLOU1, but I have a gut feeling they'll somehow find a way to make it worse. And I've seen enough of the leaks to know that the gameplay to 'press-forward or watch a cutscene' ratio is at least as badly tilted as in UC4.

So all they needed to do was to animate the countless cutscenes. I mean at this point, truly why bother? Making a film is essentially what ND has been doing for years, since again the gameplay has not changed at all. And animating frames vs animating a 3D space is faster anyways. Then again, not even Hollywood would greenlight a movie with a script this bad, so he has to sneak it in to a "game."
