I think everyone can agree that the biggest problem with The Order 1886 was the playtime to price ratio. It had little to do with the quality of the game (though I do remember a critique that there were too few monsters in a game about monsters).Regardless of what one may think of The Order 1886 I think we can all agree it's at least better than Last of Us 2.
Take for example Ready At Dawn's approach to designing a female character.
Lower the price to say, 40 dollars or so AND package it with the PS4. The game did a wonderful job showing off what the PS4 could do, as a packaged game it would have both done that and been forgiven more.
Remember the Sokol hoax, where a group of researchers submitted deliberate utter nonsense to a prestigious postmodern journal and it was actually printed? I feel like it would be fun to do something like that, only with "diverse" video games. See what the absolute shittiest possible garbage game is that these tools will defend because MUH REPRESENTATION. Then reveal that they were all played, to much butthurt.
The huge development expenses and marketing expenses (remember that stupid church that cost millions by itself?) mean that it has to sell extremely well to make a profit. Even if it makes a profit though the franchise is mortally wounded. A third installment will bomb.
That's only because Druckman didn't have any ideas about how the technical aspects of the game should work, like if he decided to do lighting in some weird way "to bring out the darkness in Ellie's soul" or some shit. There's actually a really good (if somewhat old) example of this happening, where the guy in charge did to the technical aspects of the game what Druckman did to the story and it wrecked the whole game: Trespasser. An interview with someone who worked on it years after the fact revealed that the lead programmer insisted on some particular physics model, and it absolutely did not work, and they wasted way too much time fucking with it because this idiot wouldn't admit that his idea was just fundamentally bad. In the end they had to go with the shitty physics model because they were out of time, and they had to remove all the puzzles that relied on things like being able to stack crates without having the stack spontaneously violently shake itself to pieces.
TVTropes I love wasting hours and hours reading but I hate how some people are abusing the impartial, drama-free, documentary-like nature of the website (or at least I thought it was supposed to have) in order to write their stupid opinion and possibly go into an edit war, or have a not-so drama-free YMMV page. I don't make the rules but I don't think that's what TVT is for. Keep it informative only with no bullshit.

She is most definitely cis. People are saying she is trans because she has a physique not attainable by a natural woman. Even bodybuilder females on steroids have more than what Abby has for tits and they look less manly somehow. For someone like her to have arms that size she'd probably have to start off as an overweight woman and trim down. She obviously didn't do that and somehow she puts pounds of muscle on during the apocalypse. The way she looks at the end of the game should have been how she looked the entire time.

I believe it. We're already going to get tons of cope from KiA types about these being fake sales, don't fall into the same trap. It's a PS4 first party title from a respected developer that's a sequel to one of the most popular games of all time. It was always guaranteed to sell well.
The game would almost be worth the pricetag if Ellie drowned Abby and finished off Lev, but that would've been transphobic or something.
