I think the intent was legitimately just to restrain but he really looked like a psycho with how he was grinding his knee in and taunting him with "you cant win" before the pin. Even if he was just trying to pin him though taunting him while doing it and not getting off when GF agrees to get into the car is kinda being needlessly sadistic and should probably be at least a negligence charge
Touching story there, bro, but it wasn't Chauvin (or any of the other cops) telling Floyd "you can't win" it was the old black dude on the pavement - same one who testified in court that he was telling GF to "calm down" else he "give himself a heart attack"
I'm going to propose a radical idea:
Defending the people who are in the right, not in the wrong. Not choosing who you defend because "lol, niggers" or "ACAB!". Looking at the facts of a situation, and making your judgement on those, not on what group you think it's "pathetic" to defend or some shit.
^This
I admittedly generally veer not as far as ACAB, maybe (many)CAB, but I really can't see what Chauvin or any of the others did wrong here
What I'm seeing is a big black dude absolutely caked off his face, and a bunch of coppers who were exceedingly patient, polite and accomodating with said black dude - he was gonna do himself an injury how he was flailing and fighting in the back of that cruiser (and that's without taking into account what the drugs were doing in a body fighting like that)
They got him out, restrained him per protocols until EMS arrived, whilst dealing with a baying crowd of lunatics who could have turned the situation bad at any given second
Yea I don't even have words for how offensive AND ignorant this shit is...GF was NOT 'lynched', he was NOT 'executed', he took a fucking huge pic n mix of drugs, and overdosed while resisting arrest
Comparing him to Jesus? Fuck you, just, fuck you - fake Christians all of them
I don't see how anyone can say the amount of drugs in his system had nothing to do with his death. I may not be a toxicologist but neither are they, and if you have lethal amounts of one drug, preexisting severe heart problems, recently had COVID-19, and had a shit ton of other drugs in you as well, how can anyone definitively say that had nothing to do with heart failure?
I don't either, and honestly the only people who could say that are either completely unaware, intellectually dishonest - or maybe both
It's not even so much what would be for 99% of people (tolerance or not) a lethal dose of Fent, mixing an opiate and a stimulant is tremendously risky even for people without pre-existing heart issues
The two together are greater than the sum of their parts - the body is literally fighting itself because it doesn't know, literally, whether it's coming or going...and although the person may appear alert and overstimulated, the opiate is still doing it's depressant thing in the background
If you've ever watched anyone doing a speedball/snowball and the aftermath, it's like observing someone on a rollercoaster...up up up...gouching out the next, then boom the stimulant can kick in again and it goes on - not hard to see why the heart struggles to keep up
Generally the stimulant will wear off quicker, still leaving the possibility of an opiate OD on the table (although it seems delayed)
I found a friend years ago in much the same situation as GF - seemed fine and dandy, went off to make a cuppa and didn't come back out of the kitchen - there he was on the floor frothing at the mouth, going blue, seizing and in opiate OD
Seems the media are doing everything to push people away from even considering this though...if it doesn't back up their narrative that Georgie was brutally executed by racist white cop, they'll try to pretend it doesn't exist - trouble being most people are so fucking lazy and spoon-fed they accept the media narrative without question
Sad times we live in...
