You're also not gonna get a civil war in a major nation without some kind of buildup or foreign backing from another major power. Even in a case like the Troubles it was decades of guerrilla attacks and hit-and-run encounters and not a full blown conventional war. I don't think a civil war could ever reasonably happen (again) in the US, it just depends on how much the administration wants to allow riots and shit to happen. Chaz and other tardouts like it could've been dispersed and shut down in an hour (that's assuming a very slow and careful approach) had authorities wanted to, but they didn't because it serviced a specific agenda. The people on top are so far removed from everything that whether or not our lives get worse because of all this they're completely unaffected. Picture pitch black Portland, police line guarding their station, and some guy fires 500 yards out from a parking deck and disappears into the night. What's their defense against that sort of attack? Riot gear and soft armor isn't going to stop a rifle round and even their ballistic shields are only rate to Level 3. A hunting round like .270 can easily defeat that.

When I was in Iraq the police were frequent targets of insurgents sometimes stopping whole buses of recruits and just gunning them down on the side of the road. People taking pot shots at you and blending into a town where everyone looks the same.

I agree with you that we're never going to see two standing armies going at it on Main St USA but the US knows it can't win a war against an enemy that's it's own population. Looking at it almost halfway through the trial, let's see what we can glean. I am an amateur with no formal medical training and this reading is for my own enjoyment and for me to collect my thoughts, so if I say something wrong, please let me know.

CARDIOPULMONARY ARREST COMPLICATING LAW ENFORCEMENT SUBDUAL, RESTRAINT, AND NECK COMPRESSION

The word "complicating" seems misplaced here. It's written like they were subduing him and that all got fucked up by him dying, and not he died because they were subduing him. Probably standard usage in these cases but I've never come across that before to my recollection. It's also given as "cardiopulmonary," and I take that to mean they couldn't tell in the autopsy if he ran out of oxygen because his heart stopped or vice versa.

Not super old, but definitely at the point where long-term health problems start staring you down. If someone wants to scrape through the morbidity and mortality reports for heart disease and opioid addiction for black men, godspeed.

I. Blunt force injuries
A. Cutaneous blunt force injuries of the forehead, face, and upper lip
B. Mucosal injuries of the lips
C. Cutaneous blunt force injuries of the shoulders, hands, elbows, and legs
D. Patterned contusions (in some areas abraded) of the wrists, consistent with restraints (handcuffs)

According to the defense, some of the injuries to the face and mouth happened in the car when Floyd was struggling. Some of this probably happened against the pavement.

III. No life-threatening injuries identified
A. No facial, oral mucosal, or conjunctival petechiae
B. No injuries of anterior muscles of neck or laryngeal structures
C. No scalp soft tissue, skull, or brain injuries
D. No chest wall soft tissue injuries, rib fractures (other than a single rib fracture from CPR), vertebral column injuries, or visceral injuries
E. Incision and subcutaneous dissection of posterior and lateral neck, shoulders, back, flanks, and buttocks negative for occult trauma

When they took a blood sample at 9 PM, his cells were okay, but by the next morning, they were all fucked up. I would like to know much more about this. Like when the pulmonologist took the stand today, he said there was literally no oxygen left, and based on my limited knowledge of chemistry, that doesn't sound right. Maybe it wasn't available for the cells to make use of, but that's different than none.

The decedent was known to be positive for 2019-nCoV RNA on 4/3/2020.

The irides are brown, and the pupils are round and equal in diameter. The conjunctivae are somewhat injected, but there are no bulbar or palpebral conjunctival petechiae. There are no facial, periorbital, or oral mucosal petechiae. The external auditory canals are free of blood.

Red eyes, nothing indicating head trauma or strangulation (as I understand it).

The external genitalia are those of a normal adult male. The testes are descended and free of masses. Pubic hair is present in a normal distribution. The back, buttocks, and anus are unremarkable.

I have a friend who reads a lot of autopsies for work and he maintains that the saddest words in the English language are "penis unremarkable."

There's a shitton of stuff about small scars. One of the things he said when confronted by police in both 2019 and 2020 is that he'd been shot before, but I don't see anything that lines up with that.

His toenails were gross.

Head and Neck
 4 cm maximum dimension abraded red-black-purple contusion, lateral corner of left brow

 2 cm maximum dimension aggregate of pink-orange mucosal abrasions and lacerations, lower lip

Diagnosis: Acute FAFO complicating fighting with the cops.

Layer by layer dissection of the anterior strap muscles of the neck discloses no areas of contusion or hemorrhage within the musculature. The thyroid cartilage and hyoid bone are intact. The larynx is lined by intact mucosa. The thyroid is symmetric and red-brown, without cystic or nodular change. The tongue is free of bite marks, hemorrhage, or other injuries. The cervical spinal column is palpably stable and free of hemorrhage.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM: The right and left lungs weigh 1085 and 1015 g, respectively. The external surfaces are pink only on the most anterior aspects, and deep red-purple in all other areas. The pulmonary parenchyma is diffusely congested and edematous.

No mass lesions or areas of consolidation are present. The pulmonary vascular tree is free of thromboemboli. The
tracheobronchial tree is free of blood, edema fluid, or foreign material.

CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM: The 540 g heart (upper limit of normal for body length is 510 g; upper limit of normal for body weight is 521 g)1 is contained in an intact pericardial sac. The epicardial surface is smooth, with modest fat investment. The
coronary arteries are present in a normal distribution, with a right dominant pattern. Cross sections of the vessels show
multifocal atherosclerosis, with 75% proximal and 75% mid narrowing of the left anterior descending coronary artery; 75%
proximal narrowing of the 1st diagonal branch of the left anterior descending coronary artery; 25% proximal narrowing of
the circumflex coronary artery; and 90% proximal narrowing of the right coronary artery. The myocardium is homogeneous, redbrown, and firm. The valve leaflets are thin and mobile. The walls of the left and right ventricles are 1.2 and 0.4 cm thick, respectively. The endocardium is smooth and glistening. Both ventricular cavities are mildly dilated. The minimally atherosclerotic aorta gives rise to three intact and patent arch vessels. The renal and mesenteric vessels are unremarkable.

I don't have any thoughts about this but I thought it was all crucial to consider.

The stomach contains approximately 450 mL of dark brown fluid with innumerable soft fragments of gray-white food particulate matter resembling bread. The gastric wall is intact. The duodenum, loops of small bowel, and colon are unremarkable.

No mention of pills or pill fragments, though I suppose they would have dissolved.

The bladder contains approximately 80 mL of yellow urine.

An incision from the back of the head to the lower back, extending onto both buttocks, is dissected subcutaneously to the
lateral aspects of the neck, the shoulders, and flanks. No areas of subcutaneous hemorrhage, soft tissue contusion, or
other occult injury are found in the posterior neck, right and left lateral neck, shoulders, back, flanks, or buttocks.

Cross sections of left ventricular, right ventricular, and interventricular septal myocardium are examined and show the expected microscopic architecture, with readily visible boxcar nuclear changes in the septal and left ventricular sections.
