Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Wow, I finally got to play on the Collateral map in Outbreak. I wish they would allow you to pick the map you want when you play solo. I'm tired of getting the Sanatorium map (they could at least fix the lighting).

New beta gameplay leaked and it looks like shit
I can't believe the player is using a keyboard and mouse, he can't aim.
There's a multiplayer reveal today I think for CoD Vanguard.

Well the STEN looks like its not butchered so it must have been the CGI artists not knowing guns.

EDIT: I looked at some of the stuff some stuff I hate like the lack of factions but other stuff I like alot new warzone map, 10 attachment guns, minor destruction, and MW engine. I will be honest guys I am a good consoomer when it comes to casual FPS and typically like to buy it as I just like casual experience like COD.

HERE IS YOUR WW2 GAME BRO

I do think MW2019 is better in that it still had 2 factions, with their own announcers, and their own operators. Sledgehammer and Treyarch need to be stopped at this point with how much damage they have done to the brand in little over 2 years after MW2019.

Gameplay looks very solid, and the graphics are good on a technical level. However, I'm still not keen on developers playing fast & loose with the setting, be it the appearance of the soldiers (not even bitching about females, I just want soldiers to look like soldiers) or the inclusion of weird shit like the explosive Maxim machinegun and RC landship (seriously, what the hell was that?).

I'm still interested in trying the beta out, and I'm not jumping on the Battlefield 2042 bandwagon until DICE has proven to gotten their shit together (still pissed about what they did to BFV and how they abandoned Battlefront II), but I wish that the setting was taken more seriously.

On the plus side, the MG42 looks far better than the one in WWII, I'm gonna have some fun using that thing.

Vanguard looks like an easy skip for me.

I actually liked Cold War, but I'm lucky if I can play it more than two weeks per season before getting bored.

I'm not bothered by unrealistic amounts of diversity in my WW2 games but these characters just look goofy.

I don't care about historically inaccurate guns in my WW2 games but these guns just look goofy.

I enjoyed MW2019 so I'm hoping at least the gameplay will be decent because this shit is so goofy.

Hopefully this will shut some people up about the reboot not being different enough. Columbia drug cartels could be cool.

Come to think of it, what if drug cartels was a way to reintroduce Raul Menendez into the series?

After all, Black Ops Cold War reintroduced Imran Zakhaev, so maybe Infinity Ward could return the favor.

I'd imagine it's probably inspired by those OG MW2 missions where you were running around Brazil fighting the militia guys who were in league with Makarov.

Though is it true that they killed off the Zakhaevs in a fucking Warzone cutscene or something? If that's true then it's completely retarded, I hate putting crucial story points in some shitty battle royale I'm never going to play.

I’m not one of those “Buy COD every year” guys, but I really enjoyed CoD Cold War.

I was kinda hoping this could be a bit of what BFV never was though. (You know like Russian Front etc. And yeah, I know CoD isn’t BF!)

But basically it sounds like one to skip or what?

Wasn’t there supposed to be some pretty large scale maps like in MW? And vehicle combat and shit?

Kinda sounds like a WW2 shooter isn’t for you then.

I mean, it’s a sub genre of shooters, right? It’s a game and the balance between realism and fun should lean towards fun, but... If you’re making a historical shooter, wtf is the point if you’re not making it... Historical?

(Sure, be a little more generous with the StG44’s or whatever, but at least make an attempt at using period accurate weapons. And people.)

It’s like making a Samurai game set in 17th century Japan and sticking white and black dudes in it. Or having helicopters in a Western game.
