Honestly, I am not surprised by this. And I wasn't surprised when Chris started identifying as transgender, either.

Chris has always shown some signs of self-hating bisexuality/homosexuality, and also showed signs of mild gender dysphoria. I mean, even when he was "Classic" Chris, he was a raging misandrist and was a huge fan of girly media franchises (Chris loved MLP years before bronies were a thing).

I sort of figured that his misandry was a mix of repression and self-hatred over possible gay tendencies, and this revelation makes it even more readily apparent.

But because of Chris's severe autism and generally low intelligence, he doesn't fully comprehend such concepts as gender and sexuality, instead regurgitating what he sees on TV and the internet.

I still steadfastly believe that Chris' jaunty few years into the LBGTQ scene is his own ego trying to protect him from futher criticism. The LBGTQ crowd by defnition have to let Chris in with a warm welcome. Chris subconsciously knows this, and gravitates towards them as they can't reject him.

I don't know. I buy that the accepting nature of the LGBTQ community might have appealed to Chris once he already started drifting into it. I am sure a lot of his involvement and activism within the community has to do with this. I have a harder time believing that his first foray into crossdressing was motivated primarily by looking around and concluding that it was a good idea because the LGBTQ community would be nicer to him, so he should fake being a woman..

I think he knows what it means if a normal person said it. But I think that, right now, he's also working on some exceptional, internal definition that a troll slipped to him.

I tend to agree that he knows what it means if a normal person said it. And that raises two questions about your second point.

1) Is it possible to twist it far enough that it doesn't involve being attracted to men? Seems hard, but I suppose it is possible. Attracted to two different points on the "gender spectrum" that appear to most of the world as female? "Attracted" to men in some weird way that doesn't involve actual attraction?
2) If that were the case, why didn't he clarify. We all remember that for the first few years of identifying as a woman, he never said it without emphasizing that he is still only interested in women. He was very worried that something he said might be accidentally interpreted as meaning he was sexually interested in men. So why is he not clarifying in a similar way now? Seems odd, doesn't it?

So far, I have no idea what to make of this.

I don't buy it. Chris is one of those people that gets TOO proud when he discovers something about himself. We had years of him declaring himself a God fearing straight man. We had years of him coming out as a woman soul in a man's body. We had years of him declaring himself a lesbian. Like, when he seriously decides to declare something about himself it is a big announcement rather than a mere "Eh, I need to change the flag in my room"

My guess is somebody convinced him that he was using the wrong term to say he likes women and that the correct flag is the bisexual one. And Chris being Chris just bought it.
