Sonichu 8/3 - Awakening of a CPU, aka The Idea Guy Corruptions

I don't understand why Chris darts around and doesn't really talk about what actually happened.
He puts a disclaimer in the first page like he's going to go into shocking detail, but instead he gives like a paragraph of "they extorted me out of $6k, but they will pay!" and proceeds to sperg about "sister-dimensions" and "CPU goddesses" and "commodore 64"
If it wasnt for Null posting the Discord chats then we would have no idea what Wise and Boyd did.

Even if he can't really say the reality of what happened; that he was gaslit. He can't say that because he hasn't realised that he was gaslit and he's still got this distorted point of view, where he thinks that all the threats to his imagination were real - he could at least say something like "they tortured my Sonichus, and they made me hurt myself in front of a camera". y'know, actually give his side of the story rather than mumbling and avoiding those bits.

I think this might be the reason why his IRL friends didn't do anything to help him and instead tried to get him committed. Because you got Chris not really saying anything, instead rambling on about "sharing share in equestria" or whatever and they have zero idea of what's really going on

I'm with @WhatNemesisMeans . I can't tell how much of this he really believes.

Is he making believe that it wasn't @Null and @The Captain (and I guess @Marvin and others) who told him that the ideafags were trolls? Or that The Captain told him about the magical high school ring? Or does he really believe this version?

A couple of times before and after the ideafags were stopped Chris said that he was going to tell the entire story. I guess this is it?

Null's pony power is an indestructible taint. Just look how recklessly he displays it to pony Chris in this drawing.

He's leaving our names out of it which is a good thing.

PC Engine

Peashy is actually a composite character. While primarily representing the PC-Engine/Turbografx-16, she's also a stand-in for the Sega Pico, a system aimed at very young children (hence why Neptune often calls her "P-ko")

It's a combination of not wanting to admit it, since he clearly understand it happened on some level, and finding it more comfortable to redirect it through his delusion filter until it fits his comic book view of reality, which he is much more comfortable with.

His escapism is partially an emotional shield from reality, he just can't deal with the full, unfiltered reality in anything resembling a mature manner, and on some level, he knows this.

From the Neptunia wiki
  • When Neptune calls Peashy, P-ko, it may be a reference to a 1993 electronic kids toy, Sega Pico. It is no doubt that the way Peashy wants Neptune to play with her the most is as much as what Sega Pico did to attract children who wanted to play video games.

Considering that Null is monitoring seemingly all of Chris' major contact methods, I would be impressed if someone managed to get to him without intervention. Still, idiots on the internet never cease to surprise...
Null's efforts will make it harder, and weed out the low-effort attempts, sure. But it's hardly impossible to work around, and considering the :autism: that Chris attracts, IMO it's just a matter of time.

Same. I keep changing my mind about how sincere these beliefs of Chris's are. Honestly, reading that "Cryzel torture" chat, I got the impression Chris understood it was roleplay, but was just going along with it because [1] he's sad and lonely [2] he loves talking about this Neptunia/CWCville shit, and everyone else's eyes just glaze over apart from those autists, and [3] he hoped it was some weird, desperate opportunity to flirt- "how does my outfit look?", that weird shit where he 'insults' Wise by saying "You're beautiful", etc.

And when he walked out on that chat, his "wife's" life was supposed to be hanging in the balance. If he thought all that shit was real there's no way he'd walk off at that point.

No wonder PonyNull has that nervous look on his face.

This is straight-up coping. Much like Sonichu and CWCville were used to cope with shennanigans in Chris' life. And his ego comes into play.

"I got scammed by Wise playing make-believe until people that I used to consider trolls intervened and helped me realize he was full of shit." isn't good enough for Chris. It's too mundane and makes his delusions seem like, well, delusions.

Instead, it becomes "Magichan (Possibly through Null and co) informed me of Wise's plot and helped me realize that my class ring was actually an Infinity Stone that could stop them! So I used it to become super animu vidya girl and Wise can't do that again!"

On the "Is Chris losing it?" question, it's hard to tell. He, at least a while ago, thought his delusions were real enough to toss around $6,000. A bad sign, to be sure. But Null helped him at least re-evaluate his reality a tiny bit.

Now it depends on if he's just making plots in his mind to save face, doubling down due to the sunken cost fallacy, or he genuinely still believes this stuff.

I don't think Chris is hiding from the Idea Guy stuff in his delusions. I think Chris wants to believe this shit, has always wanted to believe this shit, and has just been getting continually more bold in publicly declaring his beliefs.

I think Idea Guy pushed him down that road quicker than he would've gone naturally. But I don't think he'd have any reason to go back to normal thinking, regardless of what lead him down the road.

I think whether or not he genuinely believes this is something of a red herring. He does genuinely believe it.

Rather, the question is: does he believe this stupid shit because of a mental disturbance? Or just because he's stupid?

I don't think it's a mental disturbance. I think he's just dumb and believes in stupid shit, like crystal healing and magic spirits. Like this dumbass.

Those legs remind me of the Thumb People from Spy Kids.

Aight I'm like 99% sure Chris has Schizotypal Personality Disorder. He's always been prone to magical thinking and has thought Sonichu & Co. were real for years. Joshua Wise capitalized on this delusional thinking and has either made it worse, or made Chris more bold with his public beliefs. This isn't new. He sliced open his taint to release a vagina, thought listening to music would grow his tits, and thought he had magical cursing powers long before Idea Guy.

Chris needs long term therapy under a clinical psychologist or licensed clinical social worker. Do I think he needs to be committed or institutionalized? No, he doesn't pose a threat to himself or others(aside from that one time he mutilated his taint), but assisted living would do him wonders, along with the care of a licensed psychological professional.
