On Monday, just before jury selection began, Araujo had agreed to plead guilty in a sweetheart deal that would shorten his probation time. However, before the deal was signed and finalized, he rejected it after learning that he would be barred from carrying weapons, like mace, for a year. The trial then proceeded with six people, plus two alternates, being selected as jurors.

I can’t help but feel that Ngo isn’t helping. Phil is violent, at least in his head, but he’s not really dangerous. I don’t doubt that when Phil sees these articles, possibly after getting someone to read them to him, he bounces and squeaks with glee. Ngo portrays him as the badass he wants to be, and Phil is not smart enough to spot the subtlety.

Not only do some Kiwis own guns, but some of them also own sound suppressors. Like you, I'm absolutely not admitting to owning my own firearms and sound suppressors. I definitely don't own anything good for long range, like an LMT MWS308 designated marksman rifle with and Elcan Spectre TR scope. Nor do I own anything that would be good for CQC like an HK Mk23 or Kriss Vector. Nope. Not at all. Phil has nothing to worry about from me.

And absolutely, gun beats pepper spray like rock beats scissors. However, when Phil is the one with the spray, even fist beats pepper spray. He's more of a danger to himself with pepper spray (and the "comrades" next to him/shielding him) than he is to any assailant.
