Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Can I ask why you think Jackal is more interesting? He seems just as generic as all the rest who aren't Stitch at this point. (and the only reason Stitch is "interesting" is they established a backstory for him)

I don't think we're going to be seeing Menendez or Mason outside of easter egg mentions. I get the feeling they're wanting to be super vague about Black Ops 2's standing in the new timeline.
I mainly play zombies, I didn't really like Naga (he's the only other BP operator I can compare to Jackal).
Naga is alright but I personally found Jackal's design and zombie lines much funnier.

But my favourite warsaw operator is Antonov by far but I always run Adler.

TIL Perseus Bios under the operator menu have been updating with each new season. So I guess there actually is more background to them then I realized...

Though they're both WW2 themed games, I'd argue that WWII is a cinematic experience while World at War is an immersive experience. Discuss.

Warzone has been in a sorry state for a while now, every update has so far done something to cause the community to collectively lose their shit. AFAIK the game has been filled with hacks like that since season 1

The lack of trailer for CoD 2021 is worrying. I wonder what is happening behind the scenes.

Sledgehammer either needs to put out a good game or they are back to support devs and warzone seems to be the main focus over the actual games.

Horrifying thought considering the lackluster effort put into it.

Am I remembering wrong? I thought BOCW didn't get it's trailer until August last year. I'd expect the same for 2021.

Mauer Der Toten released a few weeks ago, to positive reception, with an enjoyable easter egg that further continues the story along with Craig's idea of "Zombies should be a power fantasy"
Along with Mule Kick with 5 new tiers and the introduction of two new wonder weapons
The CRBR-S (currently exclusive to Mauer, might come to OB in season 5) and the LT53 KAZIMIR (pretty much the Gersh devices from Ascension and Moon, but only being able to hold one at a time)

Plus a bunch of MP shit people pretend to care about:

What did you guys think of Mauer?

It was alright when it wasn't glitching the fuck out for me. I haven't played it much, didn't even get to finish the easter egg.

Truth be told, this has been the worst season for me by far. Everyone complained of glitches and crashes before but I barely got them until this season.

I'm not even halfway through the battlepass so I think I might be done with Cold War unless they have a triple double next week or something. I tried using my 2XP battle pass tokens but my first one seemed to do nothing, and I crashed while the second one was active and was so pissed I just stopped playing again.

One man goes through 40 CoDs on Veteran difficulty.

Phone games, spinoffs and handhelds included with exceptions. This is not a walkthrough of every CoD, rather a brief analysis of each game.

Have you beaten any CoD on Veteran? How was it?

I've beaten the mainline titles from COD 2 onward, I was even enough of a masochist to beat WAW multiple times.

Even with all its bullshit, I'd happily beat WAW over COD 3, that game was such a tedious slog to go through once.

I completed MW2 to MW3 on Veteran. I didn't get to finish CoD4 on Veteran. Nor CoD 2 on Veteran. CoD 2, it feels like you have less health and sparse checkpoints.

WaW Veteran, they go crazy with grenades. Catch skull on.

CoD 3. The game feels like it's falling apart.

For me, what sets those games apart from 3 is that they're still fun beneath all the grenade spam and infinite enemies (the earlier ones at least, MW2 onward toned those elements down). 3 has them too, but it was so slow and tedious, and it was very stingy with checkpoints, so I haven't bothered with it again.

Black Ops III sucked too, and it was made worse by kicking you out of a mission if you "lose connection" to the servers. I had somewhat spotty internet back when I played it, so I kept losing progress because it didn't save checkpoints when that happened. I came back a few years later (when I had better internet) to finish it off, and it was an unfulfilling experience made no better with that god awful story.
