See how many delusional Canadians post about how we'll just fight off America with insurgency and sheer grit. Problem is the soft, modern Canadian is not an angry, radical Islamist who believes he will be rewarded with virgins and paradise when he dies and on top of that, the average Canadian doesn't even know what the rest of the country looks like more than several kilometers outside of the boundaries of their own city.

Another fun cope is that Canada will push America back during winter, as if they think our winters are as harsh as 1940's Russia.
 
Shipping container houses are memes. They are nothing but virtue signaling. Literal youtube ~influencer~ hyped-based crap.

Pros: you immediately get a hardy, largely weatherproof box at a reasonable price
They can be transported easily on highways

Cons: you need a welder to do basic things like installing windows and doors, cutouts for water/electrical/sewer, and sealing the doors. Much more expensive than hiring a framer.
It will have serious denting, scrapes and corrosion from a life on the road and at sea, needing hours of labor to remediate. You can buy a brand new one to avoid this but then you're not saving any money
It's metal so it conducts heat, making them impractical to heat/cool in winters/summers. Difficult to insulate without causing condensation and mold issues
The only structurally tough points are the corners, the roof/sides/etc are not load baring at all for any additions or modifications
Much of the cargo they move can seep in to the wooden floors or even the metal itself over decades of use, causing long term health issues if you, say, lived in them. These things move bulk concentrated pesticides, active and spent nuclear material, etc.

They are nothing more than an opportunity for a photo op to appeal to retards that know nothing. Spend any amount of time researching cheapo ways to erect a structure and you'll release what a con they are... Buy a shipping container as cheap weatherproof storage and that's it.

When discussing Canadian real estate you must remember that the government will always protect the developers and owner class at all costs. Creating mass, small, affordable housing would hurt these two groups. The developer gets paid more to make a semi-detached family home, the owner class gets richer if the supply of cheap housing is strangled by only making family homes for them to buy and rent out. They can only force people in to insane rents if there is no other option available. . This is currently achieved through strict zoning laws and taxation.
