Actually old school Laurentian elites were the reason why Canada was so fucking underdeveloped during the early years of Confederation because they would rather have a tariff war with USA than adopt their technology. But back then, people worked and we actually had some basis of factories and manufacturing propped up by the Great Britain but not anymore.

Canada has no allies.

No industry.

No capitalist.

Just bureaucrats and jeets leeching off the system.

As someone who's been to Vermont multiple times, can confirm this. Can also confirm it's essentially an extension of Canada as far as degeneracy and misery are concerned. It's only tolerable for non-residency (i.e. vacation) purposes.

These people are retarded. Canada cannot use accounting gimmicks and virtue signals to get out of the USA wanting to put the squeeze on it. The first step was to not so openly meddle in US politics and draw the ire of one of its major political parties. Since that step was ignored the next best move would be to do what Columbia did after it stepped on the wrong toes. Which would be to engage in the rituals of the new Imperial court and try and get a good deal fully acknowledging being the junior party in the negotiations.

It might be a kick to the nuts in terms of pride, but it's preferable to what will happen if Ottawa decides to go the antagonistic route. Time to dust off those old diplomatic manuals from the 1920s on how to deal with the southern Elephant.
 
Okay, here's your option if you're in AU/CA/UK:

1. Marry someone in the US. Literally the easiest thing you can do.
2. Study in the US. Kinda expensive, but then you can marry some nice girl.
3. Start a business by investing about $1 million USD.

If you have a million dollars lmk I'll figure something out. I'm not marrying any of you though.

Hi leafs, I like you all and still say eh because I lived there for a while. I hope the USA annexes Canada and we kick the immigrants out together and make Toronto clean again. Between your logs and gas, and our military industrial complex, we will be unconquerable.

I also hope the USA adopts loonies and toonies as a part of this theoretical annexation deal. They are a wonderful, jingly form of currency.

Canada's current situation is a result of incoherent management from the past 8 years.

Trudeau's ministers are about as effective as Trudeau himself. He is a control freak, and even his ministers who have the experience for their position are not able to do their jobs. This is a fault of how Canada's election system functions. You need to select ministers from the people you got who were elected. Morneau said "fuck that" in 2020, and was very vocal about his disagreements with Trudeau. This is how you end up with a teacher as a finance minister. Even she had to go defend Trudeau's untenable, retarded positions in public. If you wonder why a minister who is perfect for his/her role is saying stupid shit in public, Trudeau is likely why.

There is incompetence with the provincial governments as well. Education being a provincial competency, and Immigration being a federal competency, have spent the past few years throwing the ball to each other. This is how you get these diploma mills and unfettered, uncontrolled mass immigration. Diploma mills who take tens of thousands of dollars from Indians, that money I suppose just vanishes in someone's pockets. You have many such instances of some competencies that should really be managed by a single entity.

I haven't been paying too much attention as to who is advising Trump. America has a vested interest in Canada, not because of its people, but because of the landmass, and some of its resources. Having control over Quebec's hydro and ports would be a major competing point for the eastern states. Canada has large amounts of natural resources, especially in the great north, some of which has been mismanaged by Canadian authorities, and sometimes sold to China at joke prices. Uranium, gold, cadmiun, titanium etc... When Trump says he doesn't need lumber from Canada, he means it as in he doesn't need it from the current people in charge.
