Communists - That time when 100 million people died wasn't REAL communism, comrade

In the nearly 100 years since its first inception in Soviet Union, communism has not once succeeded.... Communism was a failed experiment.

Communism didn't fail, it was defeated. If the Soviet Union won the cold war, idiots would be shitposting online about "capitalism has never once succeeded", and if Hitler won WW2 it'd be "democracy has never once succeeded". These are ideologies that never had any intention of playing nice with each other, and found it absolutely necessary to bang their heads against each other until somebody gave up.

Communism (and Nazism, for that matter) has only ever been instituted in nations that were severely broken already, because people tend not to want revolutions when shit is working fine, and it improved most of them massively. The fact that these systems didn't last has very little to do with the inherent value and functionality of the systems themselves, and a whole lot to do with "who had the most guns".

Communism might not be ideal, or desirable, but the idea that history proves it doesn't work is dumb. Of course it works. History proved it worked well enough to turn an utterly broken nation into a global superpower that faced off against the rest of the world for almost a century.

Basically we need advanced space communism for communism to work. Posadism wins again!
Not only that, but there was a global nuclear war before advanced space communism was reality.

While I agree with most of this, I dissent on one point only:

Nazism and Communism worked, but in the sense of a sun burning itself for fuel. Nazism was gonna go nova eventually when they ran out of resources to steal from others and land to acquire by the same measure, and Communism in the USSR kept cannibalizing itself till it found itself unable to scratch together enough to compete effectively with the US.

Nazi Germany was based on Hitler's idea he could make all of Europe his own personal demense, and thus acquire all of it's attendant resources to fill in holes in the economy. Communism was based on the idea of being able to be an autarky, an economy that could completely provide for itself but was never able to do so, partially because so much of the economy was dumped into it's military, which required so many resources to keep going it became the tail wagging the dog.

Both started to burn out when their ability to stave off the inherent weaknesses in their economic models was outpaced by the severity of those weaknesses.

Even worse, is that Communism is more a cult than a true-to-form political movement. Look at the type of exceptional individuals that are attracted to Communism, especially now. Usually the most downtrodden failures in any given capitalist society. The ones who dig a hole for themselves by simply not trying to be successful. The mentally ill, the weak, the poor, the autistic, furries, bronies, Low-IQ people, the deformed, college professors, the list just keeps going. Only society's waste is actually interested in Communism. That, and, of course, edgy teens with edgy memes in high school and college, but I ascribe that more to a misplaced sense of parental rebellion than an actual interest in Communism, despite it having a tendency to turn itself into real interest later in life.

They mainly hear this commie slogan: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need."

You can see why this would appeal to people with no abilities.

Well, I've known working-stiff union members who were full commie. Actual productive members of society that have drunk the commie koolaid are becoming more rare, however.

Classic Wobbly type commies are pretty rare these days, but were probably the best of the whole breed. This largely had to do with the fact that Communists were never actually going to take power in the United States, and the general oppositional mentality was goal-oriented at the time, so you ended up with activism directed at specific goals, like the 40 hour work week, family leave, minimum wage, and other shit that you could actually take to the bank, and it was actual workers who were agitating for it.

Yeah, history bears this out. When actual workers, as in, guys who slaved their asses off in shitty conditions to make ends meet, were commies, they actually did believe in the, to communism's credit, nobler aspects, like a society where workers were treated with dignity and not considered expendable pawns of capitalist pricks.

Then again, it makes perfect sense as Communism is aimed at the working class, it's literally tailor made to appeal to their work ethic and sense of self worth.

People like Phil, on the other hand, they take a butchered, theme park idea of Communism, half because of ignorance, half because he's lazy, and try to advocate for it because he thinks it would be a free lunch for him at the expense of society, when in reality communism shits all over people of his ilk.

So many commies come off as crazed conspiracy theorists. Nothing is ever communims fault it's always the CIA, Americans, Capitalism, or propaganda that just makes them look bad. I'm almost amazed they don't have their own version of r/conspiracy
Half the problem is communist government propaganda was 100% conspiracy theories, hell they still are, and the useful ingsocjus idiots that hear the propaganda conspiracy theories think they're all legit.
