In the nearly 100 years since its first inception in Soviet Union, communism has not once succeeded.... Communism was a failed experiment.
Communism didn't fail, it was defeated. If the Soviet Union won the cold war, idiots would be shitposting online about "capitalism has never once succeeded", and if Hitler won WW2 it'd be "democracy has never once succeeded". These are ideologies that never had any intention of playing nice with each other, and found it absolutely necessary to bang their heads against each other until somebody gave up.
Communism (and Nazism, for that matter) has only ever been instituted in nations that were severely broken already, because people tend not to want revolutions when shit is working fine, and it improved most of them massively. The fact that these systems didn't last has very little to do with the inherent value and functionality of the systems themselves, and a whole lot to do with "who had the most guns".
Communism might not be ideal, or desirable, but the idea that history proves it doesn't work is dumb. Of course it works. History proved it worked well enough to turn an utterly broken nation into a global superpower that faced off against the rest of the world for almost a century.
