Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Funny thing when they showed the demo for Legion, the grandma was a retired super hacker.

In the first part she appeared as "ex police engineer" iirc then later they showed her as "Retired assassin", still the grandma is going to be so op, i will main her

And it's just as much of a game as clicking head hitboxes in a shooter would be.
Talking and shooting are both gameplay but one of them is far, far superior as an actual game mechanic than the other.

Would you prefer a more Renegade/Paragon approach of simply "me good" (altruist) or "me bad" (edgelord) a la Mass Effect? That's still a soft skill check, and it's still choosing your own adventure. Even simply selecting different dialogue options with zero skill checking is more of the same.

Something with actual game mechanics. There's one part in Spec Ops the line where you encounter an angry crowd and you have the option of shooting in the air or just shooting at the crowd, maybe you can wait it out or something I dunno. This sort of interaction is done via the normal shooter controls and nowhere does it even tell you what your options in the scene are. Spec Ops the line is a shit game but in isolation that scene is far more interesting gameplay wise than any of the conversations in New Vegas where you scroll through your list of options and pick that one with Speech 80 next to it.

Failing that Alpha Protocol had more interesting dialogue since you had long conversation trees instead of simple choices,
These sort of things are hard to implement but so is making a good game.
It's even okay if the talking gameplay is bad or isn't a game at all but only if the rest of the game is actually good.
Otherwise why even make a game at all?

Just because you know there's a man behind the curtain doesn't mean the illusion can't be quite entertaining (which is what a good game does, RPG or otherwise).
Illusions are for movies, give me a video game.

..Or perhaps you just might not enjoy RPGs in general. Look..you like what you like, right? That's fine, but not liking something also doesn't suddenly make whatever it is wrong, bad, or malignant. Watching those numbers go up is the same sort of dopamine hit as a well-timed gun upgrade before a boss fight in something like DOOM.
If a game offers nothing but these little tricks that fool you into thinking that you've accomplished something then it's a shit game.
You can't just toss away game critique and analysis because someone finds something fun (what a wretched buzzword fun is),

Put simply, in a world where plug-in body part replacements and extreme augmentations are available, and in which anarcho-capitalism gone nuts is the order of the day, why wouldn't a soda company advertise their product by objectifying a dickgirl, is the rationale behind it.

However, get this quote from some annoyed Twitter user about it:

Like: I have an erotica Twine coming out next week (@BloodPactTwine) with two trans girls that have dicks. Both are used and feature. But I weave in their genitals in a way that feels feminine, soft, and affirming. There’s no shock value here, because girldick isn’t shocking.

(Emphasis mine.)

Translation: It's a gay male erotica about 2 fags who do stuff with their penises & dangling balls because they are M A L E.

I just don't want my nice gun to be obsolete if I progress far enough. It's a fucking gun and it's gonna hurt. This is an inherent problem with all shooters that have loot-based systems. The only ones I've seen do it right so far is Destiny and Fallout and that's only because the guns stats are independent of your actual level and scale with it instead.

I hope Cyberpunk does something similar. I'm the kind of asshole that gets attached to her gear. Call it signature style, whatever. Endgame is always fashion. :)

This. Best part of Dragon's Dogma is building awesome outfits and not worrying about the numbers because any gear can be upgraded and character stats are more important regardless.

Either allow us to upgrade anything, allow us to visually modify gear to appear however we want (a slot for "holograph" or "hard light" or something maybe) or make the gear scale to character level.

The Voodoo Boys and The Animals were from the original tabletop game created by notorious white supremacist Mike Pondsmith, who has been working with CDPR on this game.

I like this new group of mentally ill barely 20 somethings trying to explain what the cyberpunk genre is REALLY about and don't actually know anything about Cyberpunk 2020/77 or the cyberpunk/post-cyberpunk genre in general.

I think in one video they did say how you can upgrade your weapons. Honestly, what I think is that you can get regular weapons or you can come across really cool weapons which you can upgrade, kinda like the various Witcher school gears.

Of course, fucking TWINE,

That shit must be banned, to many idiots believing they are the hot shit for making a game in that

Overblown loot systems are just a cheap way to keep the player distracted anyway. Diablo 2, for example, would have been dogshit if it were simply a loot simulator lacking such satisfying gameplay. The loot itself was a nice bonus (breaking the game as hard as you can with min/maxing your gear is quite fun), but doesn't accomplish much if it's built on a crappy gameplay foundation.

I hear you, though. I much prefer to use equipment based on how it feels (I tend to gravitate towards single shot BRs in anything shooty, for example) than being locked into this or that because +2 to fuckin..cyborg-slaying or some such nonsense. It's definitely an aspect of RPGs I'm willing to butcher for the sake of "muh gameplay" outside of old school style isometric stuff.

I'm reminded of WoW when they finally let you do that shit to equipment. Warrior's embrace on every female warrior character as far as the eye could see. Black Mageweave on every female caster character. Fashion.

You know..
I don't like bad gameplay
..do you think it might be possible that you're using your own subjective opinion on this matter and stating it as truth? Because that's really what seems to be happening here.

Jesus christ his tits though
Does he wear a bra? You could probably kill someone with the kind of girdle he's wearing if you slingshot it hard enough.

Respect Br'er Chrome or I'll put you through a wall.

That's just his exoskeleton.
Doesn't he self-insert as morgan blackhand anyway?
For a dude who prides himself on creativity, otensibly naming himself as Johnny Silverhand's edgier stepbrother says a lot about him too.

Subjectivity is almost as bad of a buzzword as "fun"
Especially when you're trying to defend something as universally awful as the actual mechanics of an RPG's dialogue system.

Yeah, because you cannot have fun and make a silly edgy stepbrother character, it needs to be all taken seriously. Combined with the guy just made him to show as an example of his playstyle.
