This is also one of the few gripes I have with the RE2 Remake: Mr X doesn't enter the save rooms. So you can just "hide2 in the save room wait till his crushing foot steps are gone and you can be on your merry wayDoesn't having a hub area really ruin the horror atmosphere in a game? The mindset when you play a survival horror game should always be "I need to get out of here ASAP and every detour should be only if I'm sure it will be worth it". If the player goes "oh I can't wait to go back to hellholes to make the gun shoot better" then something went wrong.
Maybe the only exception is something like Dark Souls if the NPCs start dying off.
He enters the initial precinct's room, doesn't he? I distinctly remember running away from him around the typewriter and having to choose which route to risk going through to escape him. This is also one of the few gripes I have with the RE2 Remake: Mr X doesn't enter the save rooms. You measn the main hall? I wouldn't call that a save room. But that is a discussion for the Resident Evil threadHe enters the initial precinct's room, doesn't he? I distinctly remember running away from him around the typewriter and having to choose which route to risk going through to escape him.
My feelings on the remake Hammond are mixed. I like the fact the he doesn't run into Hydroponics, inhale the gas and spend almost all of his remaining time in the game out of action ( Even though it was probably Kendra jamming his signal), and is still interacting and showing us stuff instead, but I think his new death scene is really bad in comparison to the original. Him falling completely under the marker's hallucinations and dying to a slasher-Chen is shit when compared to the original's desperate final stand against an enhanced Brute, the strongest non-boss enemy in the game.they fucking ruined Hammond’s character.
As someone who is a die hard dead space fan to the point where I forgave the stuff they did to 3, I’m so far not liking this. It’s disappointing given that the dismemberment system and open world mechanics and Isaac Clarke talking are all solid, the story and canon beats so far have just been gutted or just flat out ruined. My feelings on the remake Hammond are mixed. that's why remakes are a fucking mistake, either stick to the original or fuck off. That's because they made him look like his voice actor, Gunner Wright

yeah the remake is much darker. maybe beacuse dark=more scaryMeh, I bought this yesterday after finishing the RE4 remake which I enjoyed. Surely a DS remake will be entertaining right? I'm just not getting on with this; I remember finishing the original a few times and enjoying it, but this...did the OG version have so many monsters literally spawn on you and behind you. Was it always so dark?
I dunno, I feel like I'm walking down one big corridor the entire game struggling to see things, and having monsters spawn on my head.
The game comes off as cheap and annoying rather than scary as a result. Good horror builds up tension, it doesn't frustrate.yeah the remake is much darker. maybe beacuse dark=more scary
There’s also no reason not to just keep playing the original, unless you’re a graphics fag.The remake is now on Game Pass, so unless you're a historonic faggot who can't get over the bathroom signposts, there's no reason not to give it a shot.
The remake may look good graphically but it's clear that it was made for the consoles. The game runs like shit on PC, unlike the original. The remake is now on Game Pass, so unless you're a historonic faggot who can't get over the bathroom signposts, there's no reason not to give it a shot.
It's fairly short, the mc's personality is different enough that you don't feel you're just playing as Isaac again and you get to see to how everything went to shit. I will never not be mad about the decision not to include the DLC in the Steam version. There was no reason not to have that shit. Definitely recommend playing it if you got an hour or two to kill though.Unrelated, but I realised I've never played the Severed DLC for DS2. Is it just an extra dollop of dead space, or does it bring something new to the table?
With added baby dolls that screams...unless you're a historonic faggot who can't get over the bathroom signposts
