Diablo 4 general - All shit will hit the fan this June

I can't share the graphs because I'm not an absolute retard, but the other day you could see the preloads for this going out as a sudden like 5-10 terabit bump in the traffic of the internet. It was impressive.

I mean yeah people here can bitch about how BLIZZARD BAD but these are gamers we're talking about.
The fuck did you expect? Morality in an entertainment medium? Ethics in bideogame journalism? Lmao.

The better question to ask is if it's a shitty game.
So is it?

Got in for about 15 min, then kicked me out. It's interesting, it's 'slow' playing compared to Immortal for sure.

With the Carpal tunnel I'm starting to get it was nice to see it was easy to switch to a controller on the fly with button mapping that made sense.

It's fine, I played it to 20 with only one interruption into the hell queue. I had some problems with sudden lag that sort of disappeared at one point and then reappeared when I started again on a rogue so I logged off. Trees seem fine , but I have a suspicion it will feel much different higher levels since a lot of passive skills feel like filler and putting any more then 1 point into an ability feels bad (I think for one of the abilities I looked at skill points 2-5 were 5% damage each). Kind of makes me miss vanilla D3s autism about "build it your way" where you could take runes that would make if feel like a completely different skill.

Also sorcerer seems kind of half baked in general, reading skill passives I could see multiple synergies for rogue that cross the backstab/arrow/throw knives line but the sorcerer elements mostly synergized with themselves and nothing else.

One thing that kind of bugged me is that the spender skills FELT much better then filler skills but in practice the difference was low. Felt like it mattered a lot because Chain Lightning kiting is much more fun using lightning cleave skill but I think there's a lot of times I would have done more just using filler. It felt like some time late in production someone decided not to do the builder/spender stuff most classes did in D3 but then they just nerfed spender damage and removed the builder aspect from the auto skills and called it good. Spender damage felt low relative to how quickly you shit through your bar but then it was mostly fine because your filler did 75% of that damage anyway. Kind of boring, I assume all of the "you scale with stats you can't get for shit on level 15 gear like crit chance" skill runes help at higher levels though.

I skimmed most of the story, it seemed fine enough though, nothing wildly SJW in it from the parts I actually caught.

I just want 1 decent ARPG to pass time during travel.
D4 has an always online requirement.

Reminder this is also the company that made the "legacy of the MUH PEEPLE" expansion for SC2. Every other fucking utterance was "muh peeple" for even the zerg and it was super cringe. IRL cultures have been so eroded that the character writing for the protoss is extremely out of touch for modern audiences.

Just watching Kripp streaming and trashtalking this.

I only play chess on phone but on PC PoE blows this out of the water, hell even PoE from 2016 blows this out of the water.

So to those who tried it, is there any hope it's at least somewhat ok enough to get GGG out of the darkest depth of Chris Wilson's asshole and back to making PoE not a job? I just want 1 decent ARPG to pass time during travel.
Keep an eye on Last Epoch. It sucks right now but there's potential, and if the devs can get their shit together and not just coast on chinkmoney it may offer a good balance of complexity and low time requirement.

It's quite intriguing that the bricking issue is so specific. The one cutscene at the church then the fans go into overdrive and the screen goes black, needing the computer to be manually turned off. Some start back up fine, others find the card bricked. Seemingly only with the 3080TI affected to that degree.
