What joke is that? It's been a while since I've seen the series.

Nah, not really. Stitch's Great Escape was just a crappy re-skin of the (from what I've heard) excellent Alien Encounter.
I never got to experience Alien Encounter, but my parents have said that it was an excellent attraction. Disney Parks stans seemed to give Eisner a lot of shit for that one as it was out of place, but the ride was seemingly pretty damn well remembered and loved, so maybe Eisner was onto something. I guess a rebrand to make it less scary was inevitable as no one but Eisner seemed to agree to the idea, but really, this may be one of the times Eisner was correct.

it's been a mess for a while
obviously the old blue and white was god's chosen Tomorrowland, but that only remains in Japan
EuroDisney had a nice spin of doing Verne-style brass futureism
90s Tomorrowland was pretty good at a solid vision, and even then the slot that became Buzz Lightyear's Gun Game was still Dreamflight or If You Had Stuff or whatever, so it wasn't ever really fitting with Alien Encounter , Peoplemover, and Timekeeper doing the "sorta worlds fair-ish things" mise-en-scene
The thing is, the Buzz ride isn’t terrible, but it does have a feeling of being hastily put together. The feeling might also come from the fact that Toy Story Mania now exists and does a much better job using the same IP and concept.

Genuinely speaking though, the area needs an overhaul. Disney Park fans will likely sperg out if anything changes, but they already are angry over that area of the Park. It could use some new life, and there is plenty of space/tech oriented Disney IP that have sprung up since the late 00s that could get a good home there. I already mentioned Ralph and Big Hero 6, but I completely forgot Wall-E and how that movie would also fit pretty well given its somewhat idealized future with many consequences. There could probably be a good message in it for tech advancement but not allowing it to come at the cost of life itself.

Disney chooses “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On” director to direct the live-action “Lilo & Stitch” film

Deadline’s Justin Kroll has reported that Disney has chosen Dean Fleischer Camp, whose 2021 film Marcel the Shell with Shoes On received rave reviews, to direct the upcoming live-action Lilo & Stitch film. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich (The Lego Movie franchise [Lin only] and 2019’s Aladdin) of production company Rideback will be producing the film, while Rideback’s Ryan Halprin will be executive producer.

Additionally, Hawaiian-born-and-based Chris Kekaniokalani Bright, whose unproduced script Conviction was chosen for the Black List survey in 2018, is in negotiations with Disney to write the script. Kroll also stated in his article that it is uncertain if the film will be a theatrical or Disney+ streaming release, although The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit stated that it will be a tentpole feature on Dinsey+.

The live-action film was confirmed to be under development in 2018. Mike Van Waes was initially attached to write the script, but reportedly Disney rejected his script. It was also reported in November 2020 that Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) was in talks to direct, but by May 2021, he bowed out to focus on adaptations of the musical Wicked and Crazy Rich Asians sequel China Rich Girlfriend.

Marcell the Shell with Shoes On was a pretty good film, and the fact that the writer is Hawaiian-born and based gives me hope, since Hawaii loves Lilo & Stitch:

Y'know, maybe this live-action remake won't be so bad after all. In fact, since I'm in such a good mood, let's take a look at that Conviction script the writer wrote that's apparently so good:

God-fucking damn it. (:_(
There, there. I, too, felt a brief spark of hope before I remembered that we're living in Current Year Clownworld and that Chris Bright was chosen less for a personal experience that could add depth and richness to the story, and moreso that he's dark meat that likes sucking white wokist micrococks.

"Step right up, folx, step right up! Lookee here at this savage brave and stunning POC writing a story about his mystical homeland! Isn't it amazing that he can use his own brown fingers on his own brown hands to type out actual words?!" Etc.

We should honestly post more crazy Disney YT analysis vids on here as they are a gold mine that continuously get recommended. Here is a video that starts with discussion over Big Hero 6, then so how ends telling gay people off for not accepting Trans with open arms. I just like the idea that gays are basically trying to distance themselves from individuals like “she”, and how this makes the creator mad. Literally the beginning and end are pretty much entirely different videos. This seems to be a theme with Lefty Disney analysis as I saw a video that started with analysis over Ratatouille, yet somehow ended with the endorsement of Communism because Linguinie lives in an apartment.

That thumbnail is giving me anxiety because it's reminding me that all CGI humans now apparently have to have the black iris on white eyeball that I've been seeing everywhere lately. I'm not the only one noticing this, am I?

Well, cartoons have always done that. When it's not a realistic pupil with a colored iris it's just a dot in a white space.

Yeah, cartoons have always done that, but CGI made sure to make the eyeballs look like actual eyeballs with irises, pupils and eventually lens. But recently, it doesn't look like that's what they're doing, even big-name studios are just putting black pupils on their humans and leaving it at that. It's just really disturbing to me.

Eye colors are racist... or something.

Also as long as their eyeballs don't look bulgy and creepy then it's fine. Last thing we need is another Violet from The Incredibles whom IMO looked like fucking Sadako from Ringu.

Long Live the Pumpkin Queen just shipped, should arrive tomorrow. I'll report on its contents as I go through them.

One video shared to TikTok on Saturday shows a long line of boats filled with guests waiting near the end of the ride. One of the boats appears to be slowly sinking into the ride’s water, with a guest nearly touching the water.
“This boat said it was NOT a small world… We were stuck for over an hour, the torture,” read the caption of the video.

Universal Orlando just had their biggest Q2 ever in terms of park attendance. This is with no horror nights, the mummy closed for refurbishment, and new construction. Disney is in big big big trouble this year.

universal orlando has been eating disney's lunch for over a decade,

Yes, but now it’s really getting to the point where Disney keeps making mistake after mistake while universal is taking advantage of the f it. I think the comcast acquisition has really brought that killer instinct to universal
Universal has the big problem that alot of the big non Disney IP is locked down by Warner Brothers.

If they could come to an arrangement with Zaslav I see alot of possibilities open up. Universal only has Potter due to urban legend saying that Disney pissed off Rowling so bad she went max fuck you to Disney. Unfortunately i think Six Flags has DC and other Warner IP locked down.

All that said Disney parks are close to capacity alot. Everything is booked out months in advance. The long term strategy seems to be to make guests reserve months in advance everything and hours in advance even the rides they go on. This makes them surgically control how much money they spend on the parks. Its backfiring hard and everyone calls out a Disney vacation as being the most stressful thing imaginable now.

Universal also isnt in a great shape with Marvel Island and Simpsons land being ultimately owned by Disney.

Thing that seem like a no brainer like a pokemon themed attraction arent present at epic, so im thinking the Nintendo land deal is much more limited than some might hope.
