What joke is that? It's been a while since I've seen the series.
I never got to experience Alien Encounter, but my parents have said that it was an excellent attraction. Disney Parks stans seemed to give Eisner a lot of shit for that one as it was out of place, but the ride was seemingly pretty damn well remembered and loved, so maybe Eisner was onto something. I guess a rebrand to make it less scary was inevitable as no one but Eisner seemed to agree to the idea, but really, this may be one of the times Eisner was correct.Nah, not really. Stitch's Great Escape was just a crappy re-skin of the (from what I've heard) excellent Alien Encounter.
The thing is, the Buzz ride isn’t terrible, but it does have a feeling of being hastily put together. The feeling might also come from the fact that Toy Story Mania now exists and does a much better job using the same IP and concept.it's been a mess for a while
obviously the old blue and white was god's chosen Tomorrowland, but that only remains in Japan
EuroDisney had a nice spin of doing Verne-style brass futureism
90s Tomorrowland was pretty good at a solid vision, and even then the slot that became Buzz Lightyear's Gun Game was still Dreamflight or If You Had Stuff or whatever, so it wasn't ever really fitting with Alien Encounter , Peoplemover, and Timekeeper doing the "sorta worlds fair-ish things" mise-en-scene
Genuinely speaking though, the area needs an overhaul. Disney Park fans will likely sperg out if anything changes, but they already are angry over that area of the Park. It could use some new life, and there is plenty of space/tech oriented Disney IP that have sprung up since the late 00s that could get a good home there. I already mentioned Ralph and Big Hero 6, but I completely forgot Wall-E and how that movie would also fit pretty well given its somewhat idealized future with many consequences. There could probably be a good message in it for tech advancement but not allowing it to come at the cost of life itself.
