I know we are supposed to hate the live-action classic remakes because Bad and Cash Grab ™ (I don't really care either way but I do want to see Jungle Book eventually, and I don't count Maleficent because that was just one character really) but what does everyone think of the 2015 Cinderella?
I ask because, as someone who didn't like the animated film as a kid, at all, I really liked the live-action one. I think I mentioned this in another thread but not sure.
I liked how the world was built, the costumes, how they added to the characters (gave the stepmother somewhat of a backstory), the acting was really good, and I felt that it generally added more to the overall story than the animated film did. Cinematography was good too. Looked pretty. Specifically, I thought the dress was underwhelming but still pretty solid and looked better than Belle's dress in that remake.
I think Cinderella worked so well in live-action because, unlike Lion King or Dumbo it didn't require a ton of CGI. Just a little for the mice and pumpkin.
