How 's it gonna work with Dumbo? The crows help a lot during the final act of the movie, and before seeing them what we have is the Pink Elephants Acid Trip. What, they're gonna cut it after that trippy scene straight to the ending without explaining how Dumbo suddenly learned to fly? This is just stupid.

It would barely make it a movie given it be less than 50 minutes in length that way.

That's pretty dumb. Like I get not having Song of the South, but I was really hoping to finally have a release in better than VHS quality (not counting the Japanese LaserDisc). In the very least, I would like some of the animated segments on the service, as those are just classic. In regards to Dumbo, it's really fucking dumb. All other releases of the film include Jim Crow, it would be exceptional to not have it in the film at all, considering how easy it is to walk out and buy a copy with it in. I know that Disney tries to be as family friendly as possible, especially with their new streaming service which is only going to be the family friendly content (plus Marvel, Star Wars and The Simpsons for some reason), but I really don't see the need to censor their old films. Fucking current year

The fact that classic Simpsons is gonna be on there kinda defeats the purpose of making a family friendly service that censors Dumbo. There are a lot of early Simpsons episodes that are still edgy today. Not really comparable to the Jim Crow scenes I admit, but all the same you can't really have it both ways.

At this point, it'd be easier to just not have the movie on the service.

Oh they're gonna censor episodes of the Simpsons too.
I know they'd probably censor Stark Raving Dad because of the Finding Neverland BS, but what other episodes would they cut out? The Cartridge Family is the only other one i can see not doing so well with the service. Maybe Saturdays of Thunder due to Bill Cosby's book playing a decent part in the plot (ditto Cosby's appearances in Round Springfield and Children of a Lesser Clod). But again, why? They'd be better off keeping it on FX and Simpsons World and not add it to Disney+ to begin with.

They appear during the last moments of the movie too so I don't even know how that's going to fucking work. Especially since at that same moment it's revealed his mother is alive and released from lock-up. If they cut that out too they'll make it look like the ringmaster had her put down after the Baby Mine scene, which makes the ending a lot less satisfying.

That's just...strange.
Not as strange as the fact that Splash Mountain is based around all the animated scenes from Song of the South.

Classic episodes of the Simpsons Disney might censor:

-Anything focused on Itchy and Scratchy (cause it's violent and it's BAD and it's a mockery of Saint Walt and Mickey and that MUST NOT be allowed - just any episode that heavily mocks Disney will get the shaft)
-The super gory Halloween episodes
-The Michael Jackson episode
-Duffless (alcoholism is bad, mkay)
-Colonel homer or the last Temptation of Homer (cheating is bad)
-Any Apu focused episode
-The Stacy Malibu episode (where Lisa doesn't win. I'm thinking Disney's gonna Mary Sue her-up and force her to be a new Disney role model akin to Rey or the Princesses)
-The Boy Who Knew too Much or Burns Heir (Bart is a BAD ROLE MODEL)
-Homer Badman
-Any of the travel episodes cuz MUH STEREOTYPES REEEE
-Any of the Lisa falls in love episode cause heterosexual romances are bad in the current year and Lisa must be empowering little girls by being single.
-The gambling episode
-King Size Homer cause it's fatphobic and triggering.

I know, autistic, but you never know with Disney and with SJWs/Christian moms.

I was thinking they pull what they plan to do with Dumbo and cut every scene with Apu out of the show entirely.

Not really, these countries aren't as ruined as us.

It came out on VHS in France too.

I also found this post talking about a "home edition" DVD/Blu-Ray restoration of Song of the South that a fan recently completed. It looks pretty neat:

I know we are supposed to hate the live-action classic remakes because Bad and Cash Grab (I don't really care either way but I do want to see Jungle Book eventually, and I don't count Maleficent because that was just one character really) but what does everyone think of the 2015 Cinderella?

I ask because, as someone who didn't like the animated film as a kid, at all, I really liked the live-action one. I think I mentioned this in another thread but not sure.

I liked how the world was built, the costumes, how they added to the characters (gave the stepmother somewhat of a backstory), the acting was really good, and I felt that it generally added more to the overall story than the animated film did. Cinematography was good too. Looked pretty. Specifically, I thought the dress was underwhelming but still pretty solid and looked better than Belle's dress in that remake.

I think Cinderella worked so well in live-action because, unlike Lion King or Dumbo it didn't require a ton of CGI. Just a little for the mice and pumpkin.

I liked it, honestly. It was bright and happy and colorful, something you'd expect out of a Disney movie made into live action, rather than the muddy, destaturated color schemes of these more recent remakes. The costumes were unique and interesting and Lily James actually put in effort with her performance. While it wasn't as good as the original version, it was a fairly good remake that had enough Disney magic in it that it didn't seem soulless, unlike other remakes.

I really don't like these soulless remakes and I especially disliked Maleficent and Beauty and the Beast, but the Cinderella remake felt like it had more real effort and heart put into it than the other remakes. I was never that fond of the original quite frankly and it was honestly my least favorite Disney film of the classic era (which is probably why I'm not that interested in this film either), but when watching the remake, it doesn't feel like a remake of the original film, but rather a proper and interesting adaptation of the original book which references the Disney film, which helps to make the movie feel a bit more inspired in that regard than the other soulless cashgrab remakes which just copy the originals word for word while trying to come off as "better versions" or they try and go the edgy/gritty route. So yeah, Cinderella is probably worthy of a pass compared to the other remakes.

I'm not really a huge fan of Frozen but I don't know how Disney decided that, after Frozen was pretty much their biggest financial success ever, they're gonna go ahead and just churn out live-action remakes of old movies.

Jesus, Disney, just make another Frozen. Don't ruin my childhood with whatever this shit is.

You would think a Frozen sequel would not be that hard an idea to do instantly but I guess they love playing the waiting game.
