E3 (but not really) 2022

No, I'm just reiterating what they're intending to do. Their PC Space expansion is less about single player games and is primarily geared towards their online microtransaction ones.
Uncharted
Days Gone
God of War
Horizon Zero Dawn

Are all fucking single player, story driven games.

Please show me WTF I'm missing when it comes to microtransaction expansion.

Edit: Also all the quantic dream stuff, Death Stranding, Nioh and Nioh 2...

The only game I can think of off the top of my head that was Sony published that really focused on microtransactions was the Predator game, but that's hardly a big desire from PC players.

Uncharted was released for PC because it was the the test run for their IP Growth Strategy. Release older last gen games to build hype for sequel and to get people to watch the movie with the end result in having them make a PS5 purchase. Horizon and God of War also fall into this. The movies and TV shows are also a part of this because it's a brand awareness thing, The Witcher TV show was godawful but financially it was a very good move and caused an uptick for a game that was already pretty old.

Outside of Destiny all their Multiplatform MTX shit is still in development or is being reorganized internally(i.e. Sony's already existing mobile games).

Well that was a spectacular failure considering nobody can even purchase a PS5

>Sold games on PC to get people to buy PS5
>Doesn't matter, PS5 has an established base

Right...

You really need to go back on the offense instead of trying this Sony defense. It doesn't work as well.
I never said it doesn't matter.

The PS5 has an established base of 18+ million, it's expected to grow signifgantly. They release the first game on PC but the sequel will be intended for their own platform, that's kind of how it works. In other markets the PC ports have the added effect of having the console being the cheaper option for hardware, bringing people from PC over to console gaming and being repeat customers.

If people want to play the series like GoW and Horizon and don't play things like DOTA or anything like that primarily on PC, they would more than likely opt for a playstation. Or so the demographic profiles suggest. With all the screeching when people had to upgrade because of elden ring, I figure their marketing data for India as a primary market for this was most definitely accurate.

Honestly I've been thinking of going back into buying a console like a PS5 instead of PC gaming. Windows is becoming to shit to justify using the OS just for gaming. Free online isn't worth it.
Dude just switch to Linux. Unless you only play games exclusively for windows (and even then there's WINE and frontends to make shit easier), Linux can do gaming just as well as Windows.

Games like monster hunter world wouldn't work on linux because of how the file directory works there triggering their anti-cheat system. Linux is making progress but isnt quite there with AAA games at least.

I forgot kids have a hard time working with computers. Maybe Sony's plan was good after all.
If Microsoft Windows is like detroit and you're looking to relocate, then Linux is like death valley.

Yes it's cleaner, but nothing is there and if you want some basic amenities you're going to have to build them yourself. Also things get really hot.

You're not really looking at an equal comparison, yes it occupies the same slot but Windows has next to no compatibility issues for most programs while Linux is usually a toss up especially when you want to use programs outside of games.

Also there's plenty of package managers you can use for your specific distro. Hell, you can even use Flatpack/Snap if you really want to dip your dick in that.

Worse case scenario you'll wind up having to "config/configure-make-sudo make install" on a terminal, but if THAT is considered a hassle to you, then idk what to tell you.

Not really, it's just that most people don't enjoy calibrating their Operating system, it just needs to work out of the box. It's supposed to be something in the background that you're not supposed to notice.
