Something like this would make for a much more organic progression system than "school atmosphere", which is a mechanic you can completely circumvent if you're already aware of it's existence. Like Lucas said, reputation and school atmosphere are fucking stupid mechanics for a variety of reasons, but especially because the game getting more difficult shouldn't be a punishment you can completely avoid, it should be how the game naturally progresses.

I think reputation/atmoshphere are stupid because no matter how low they are, you don't get a game over so what's the point? Sure, everybody in school knows you're a murderer but the teachers/cops don't and senpai doesn't care so why whould you? Yeah, they found the bodies but the school is still open and everyone is still going so whats the problem?
Low atmosphere is supposed to make the game harder because you didn't hide the bodies and everyone is paranoid but ironically it makes the game EASIER because you killed a bunch of students so thats less people to get in your way.

I don't think a RNG spawner and learning IA would make the game better because "by default" you should only kill your target. What the game needs is to make live witness instant game overs but give you tools to deal with them non violently (bribe, threat, blackmail, etc), and if the atmosphere drops to zero the school closes and it's game over.

As it is, Yandere Sim is the only "stealth" game where going in a genocidal rush is faster, easier and more rewarding than playing stealthy.

I think some degree of RNG in student creation would improve the game. If each time you play the game, the number of students in clubs differs, their personalities differ, their friends differ, and the routes they take differ, it would be more interesting than having the exact same student body and on-rails movement every single time. And why can't the rivals be slightly random as well? If you don't know who the rival is going to be, you have to stalk Senpai and keep tabs on the student body to find out. Won't be able to just knife the rival at the start of the week if you don't know who they are.

And yes, anyone witnessing your murders should either be a game over or make it extremely hard to progress. And forget the increasing lengthy murder animation depending on Yandere-chan's sanity; all murders should have a lengthy animation and depending on the method, either be extremely messy (requiring a long period of time to dispose of evidence) or extremely noisy (making nearby NPC realize that shit is going down and either immediately call for help or investigate, depending on personality). On top of that, something should be done about the whole "Yandere-chan asked so-and-so to follow them and then they were never seen again/showed up with a knife in their face" thing, which again should make everyone much less willing to accommodate you or flat out get you arrested.

I think way back when that was the idea, to find them yourself and all that. But then Alex can't scream about how great all the rivals and their poorly thought-out names.

Yeah, I recall him talking about it before in one of his videos, how he wanted to keep the identities of most of the rivals a mystery so players could figure it out for themselves. He really is shooting himself in the foot by disclosing so much shit that doesn't need to be talked about in the videos.

No one's gonna care who the rivals are until they start playing the games for themselves, but I think everyone is gonna care about details that do matter to the audience, like whether or not the game is ever going to perform faster than a sloth wading through molasses.
