Something that always rubbed me the wrong way about his e-mail issue stubbornness is that he explicitly responds to every single e-mail no matter how unnecessary. When people ask dumb questions or questions that are answered on the FAQ, be it through his e-mail, patreon, or the game's subreddit, he always takes the time to sit down and write out a response to the question. And I don't even think it's a copy+paste or a "Go check the FAQ" response, either. Everytime I've seen him answer a bad question in public, it's never been a canned reply. He complains that so much of his time is preoccupied by answering e-mails, but it's his fault entirely for putting so much effort into them.

On another note, I wonder why Eva has to program easter eggs for the game if they're not going to be implemented in the full game in the first place.
IIRC he said that the easter eggs (at least some of them) would be in the final game, but you'd have to unlock them. Like, for a Magical Girl easter egg you'd have to find a hidden Magical Girl manga and then you'd unlock the easter egg after reading it.
However, his insistence on not getting bug reports related to easter eggs says that either he will remove them or he'll leave them in broken.

Even so, I imagine many of them may need to be removed anyway (One Punch Man, Cirno, Captain Falcon, etc.) so it's still a wasted effort unless they're changed to be lawyer-friendly.

I feel like that might be a combination of :autism: and him being fully aware that without his fanbase, he would have absolutely nothing and can't afford to blatantly ignore people who are keeping his popularity afloat. Or maybe at least in his eyes. He has a weird ass fixation on it.

why does this nigga feel the need to respond to every single email he gets? Like, why can't he just ignore them? Why can't he just sign out of his email? I'm seriously flabbergasted, he claims to spend literally hours a day responding to emails. Just turn off your fucking email you turbo-autist, even a retarded 3 year old who doesn't know what a computer is could solve this problem.

Like, I don't even know what to say to that. I literally had to pause his email rant video and just laugh to myself in disbelief.

But if he doesn't respond to his email, people won't know how super hard his poor life is! Also he can't use them as an excus-er... I mean completely valid reason for why the game is taking so long!

He's said before that he's intent on being a developer that interacts with his audience. I've figured it was remnant butthurt from his rejection by Mike Z, not wanting any potential young brilliant minds go ignored or through the same traumatic constructive criticism he did. :c

Peer review is his trigger.

Criticism is his trigger.

I read somewhere (will need to look up to confirm it, but honestly not doubting its validity) that he's buttmad that people aren't playing the game the way HE intended even though
  1. It's a sandbox game - at least in its current build. You have free reign on what you want to do and how you want to do it. That's what sandbox games are.
  2. There isn't much of the game to play, because somebody is too busy coding easter eggs that probably won't be in the final game anyway. There really isn't much else to do BUT see how many people you can murder before you're caught.
  3. Part of the fun is playing however the fuck you want. For someone who plays video games, he doesn't seem to understand this basic concept.
If it's true, it wouldn't be a surprise.

is looking more and more like the fate awaiting this project. Then again, I'm a pessimist.
That's only assuming he even wants to continue working on it.

After all, he mentioned he's only working on the damn thing 8 hours a week. Odds are is that he's eventually going to forget outright, while the others complete their work and then pester him into completing it.

It wouldn't be much of a surprise if he abandons his project in pursuit of another one, like that hack-n-slash game he made. He's such a narcissist, history repeating itself is a given.

I can believe that.

Like a whole bunch of other people in this thread, I thought this game might be worth havin' a giggle over, murder a few girls for mai senpai, and then I find out this guy is a narcissistic weirdo who won't pay nobody and doesn't know how to code.

If he drops the project, you think some fan would try to complete it and make him BLANGRY?

I would, and I'm not even a fan, just to make him sperg out.

Oh definitely, say what you want about the dev, but it is a good idea for a game.
If only it didn't have all that creepy shit in it like having to take panty shots of underaged girls, tying up people in your basement, and the boob inflation cheat.

You know there are people that say this guy is not creepy. I really want to know what they see in him.

I just wish someone less creepy had the idea. And they'ed would work on it in a timely fashion.

Even stuff like the panty shots could've worked if they came off as tongue-in-cheek references to overall anime/otaku culture. I was originally drawn to the game because I thought it was going to be a satire of moe or fan service-y anime/video games, but YanDev has made it pretty clear through his videos and blog posts that he wants to be played pretty seriously and that he probably gets off to all the creepy bits - especially if you watch his video on Natsuiro High, a game entirely devoted to taking panty shots of high school girls, and how he compared it to his game.

What's even better is that he's one of those weeaboos who thinks that Anime is a 1:1 recreation of the "GRORIOUS NIPPON", as evidenced by him literally fucking analyzing a video game to make his vidyas more realistic instead of actually researching it.

I like how he chimps out about how GTA 5 having a torture scene even though you can kidnap people in the game and torture them.
