There's a lot to be said for good old TRUE and HONEST paper voting ballots. These cannot malfunction.

Well no, paper ballots just move the fuckups from the machines to the people.
Though people fuck up, I also don't believe these are "malfunctions". I have never trusted Diebold, and maybe I'm a liberal, but my first thought is that some Democrat in Virginia rigged the machines.

I prefer the paper trail. Papers can be destroyed, but at least they existed at some point.

(No, obviously, it would be dumb to have the votes switch to the Democrat candidate right in front of the voter, but let's be honest, this state produced a man who thinks wearing a shirt over his head is a disguise. I'm not about to discount the possibility some operative fucked up while attempting to tamper with votes).

I must confess I did something a wee Chris-esque: I kicked the sign for our current governor. Sorry, I hate the bastard and I just want him gone. Yeah, it's petty, but it felt good.

Nor does my state. Some of my friends were poking fun at it since the symbols put next to the Republican, Democrat, and Libertarian choices were, respectively, an eagle, a chicken, and a flower.

I wish they disallowed it in PA. They weren't there today, but it's so annoying walking through these idiots saying, "VOTE FOR THIS GUY!!!" C'mon, if I haven't decided who I've voted for by now...

We do have straight-ticket voting, and I use it. Except when someone's running unopposed. For a second I was tempted to do a write-in, but my common sense prevailed. (Sorry, I hate the Republican party in PA.)
