Not to dismiss the possibility of Chris having FAS or being otherwise retarded but I feel like a lot of people underestimate what a shitty combination executive function disorder and permissive parenting can be. Chris has never had to work for anything in his life, and he's constantly been shielded from consequences. People with severe executive function impairments basically only learn or act with the threat of immediate consequence, whether it be failing a class, starving, or some social complication, which Chris's parents have constantly intervened to protect him from. We will likely never know just how retarded Chris actually is, because he has no reason to put any effort into or improve anything he does. If he has potential in anything, we'd never know. At this point, though, it may be legitimately hard to tell simply because so many conditions relating to mental retardation effectively have the same symptoms and Chris simply could have multiple - I'm sure it isn't an impossibility he has Autism and other shit, too, given so many unusual factors being in play when he was conceived.

Occam's Razor says that Chris has autism and had a fucked up life. I think we look at modern Chris and we see the delusions and weird religiosity obsessions and think that there must be more than just regular ole high functioning autism. But things are usually greater than the sum of their parts in these cases.
