Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Sidenote: if you're considering using a Fantasia to change your character, wait until the release of Dawntrail. They're changing the process to give you 60 minutes of game time to try your character in-game and freely make changes before they're locked in.
Normally I'd be really happy with this but the problem comes that in order for changes to apply, you have to log out and log back in. With the insane queue times, people may not want to wait an hour or more to get in only to have to log back out to make changes and then requeue into a possibly longer queue. I did this back in Shadowbringers when I permanently switched from Raen Au Ra to Rava Viera. I used a fantasia before the start of EA for Shadowbringers so that way I could just make the switch in the menu immediately and then just go in and start playing.
Unless you can confirm with me that they'll let you do the change right off the bat in the menu before queueing in, I'll probably do the fantasia trick. I'll be called a fag for spending 10 dollars just to avoid an inconvenient double queue but I just don't have the patience with my limited time to spend all of it waiting in a line. I've already gone through 3 expansions of that horseshit.

The FF14 official websites aren't user friendly, but if you fail 3 times at setting up an account you might have a room temperature IQ
I will say that good business should dictate that you make "giving you money" so easy that even a retard could do it. But yeah, I can never get why people say "I just can't figure out how to buy it".

Literally the most confusing part for me was trying to figure out that you only need the most recent expansion and you get all previous ones (initially I thought you'd need to pay for each). Even then, google it. Someone's probably made an infographic for the smoothbrains.
Every now and then I want to make friends in ff14 so I can have a static to play higher end content. Then I'm reminded what the fan-base consists of.
Looked up his FFlogs. Mine are better. 😎

In other news, the Xbox version of XIV is flopping hard. Xbox twitter, as usual, blames the game despite it mysteriously not having problems on any other platform (even the Mac version is successful enough for Square-Enix to keep it going despite the ARM transition).

But yeah, I can never get why people say "I just can't figure out how to buy it".
Zoomers are literally fucking retarded. Like utter niggercattle. If it takes more than one click to buy something, their microplastic-riddled brains can't maintain coherency long enough to see it through.

This is why Amazon defaults to one-click btw.

In the interest of being "fair" (though it's Xbox so lolwut) but isn't the free trial up to Stormblood also available there?

Microsoft has already pushed the idea of Gamepass so hard that I wouldn't expect 14 to hit any charts at all, because they can play so much of the game without spending a dime. They probably just think it's included with their sub like retards.

As many have also said, between Xbot brain rot and idiot zoomers with their own form of brain rot, not only are many of them too stupid to figure out how to buy, there's almost no incentive to buy when the core content is free. Until they eventually hit the point where they cross over from SB to ShB.

Though the official 14 page looks straight out of the mid-2000s, the kind of website I'd be scrolling on my Pentium 3 running Windows XP. But it's at least functional (if slow as shit), and can be navigated provided you slow down and read. But of course... Tiktok brains.

Finally got around to checking out the job changes and now I feel like the Delirium changes were specifically targeting me.

Edit: I kinda like Bloodspiller and Quietus getting alternate versions under Delirium 2: Edgelord Boogaloo and Esteem being free with the goofiest ability name at 100 also sold me on the DRK changes

my 'nobody asked' 2c on job changes:
  • WAR: primo, based, more unga, more bunga
  • DRK: Delirum + Blood Wep fuse is fine, you never used them out of sync anyways. Esteem being free is nice. Overall, looks great.
  • GNB: Adding more GCDs is a weird choice, it slows it down when it needs to keep it's speed to keep its identity imo. Not happy with it, but it wasn't my favorite tank to begin with.
  • PLD: lame, it's basically identical to EW and so boring. New anims are cool though.
  • WHM: Dash is cool, why is free cure still a thing, nice overall, still wont play it.
  • SCH: aoe dot is a nice touch, angel form is weird. Will have to play it to see.
  • SGE: party wide kardia is sweet, I like that. Looks good.
  • AST: Bringing individual card abilities back is based. They wont matter and you'll still apply cards on cd which is cringe. Will have to play and see.
  • DRG: Looks fun, no more dragon sight is interesting.
  • MNK: they made it melee dancer and I'm not sure how to feel about this.
  • RPR: it's more RPR. If you think that's good thing or a bad thing you're right.
  • MCH: Full. Metal. Machinist. Looks sick, love the new animations.
  • DNC: I don't really understand how the dance changes work, it seems like you don't need to do the moves anymore for full powered finishing move? I think this is good?
  • SMN: How did they drop the ball so hard on SMN. The new Bahamut looks sick, but it got no juice this expansion besides that.
  • BLM: Fuck the haters, Sharpcast was cringe and I am glad to see it gone. Not being able to use paradox in ice is interesting, I love the new animations. I don't really understand new thunder but I'll figure it out when it goes live.
  • RDM/SAM/NIN/BRD I am still lveling so no comment, have everyone above at 90.
Overall, I am liking what I am seeing. Retards are seething that they simplified things but I think most of the changes feel like QoL over dumbing down. Remember that most people on reddit and twitter commenting haven't even done a single savage, so I take most online discourse with a grain of salt. Viper looks like Reaper2, so I'm not too excited, but I really am interested in Pictomancer, seems wildly different from everything else.

Viper is sort of a weird mix between RPR and DRG in that you have several combos you'll alternate through and its burst window is a fuckton of weaving. It looks very fast, which I'm into, and I'm definitely looking forward to playing it.

Warning, pointless rant time.

Was working on lvl 80 relics for the first time, and yes, extremely poor timing, but I have to ask, who in the dev team thought it was a good idea to block the quest chain with a 24 man raid in content relatively few will do, especially once it stopped being current. and has that person committed suduku to remove the shame they caused their family yet?
In Eureka they had the sense to put the raid at the very end, and it was optional. Party finder seems like a bust so far, but might have to give it more time, and I refuse to join a third-party app to get a group, especially groomerville (Discord) like so many suggest, would rather just give up and do more Eureka.

I'm fine with the homogenization so long as they make encounters more challenging. Besides, an option was added for the brainlets who like pressing 20 million buttons to be able to press 20 million buttons instead of pressing the same button over and over. I'm looking at you, Dragoonfags.

Autistic BLMs everywhere are melting down because their job got easier and more accessible.
If you think that BLM is hard to play, you haven't played it. Baseline BLM has one of the most relaxing, easiest rotations in the game. Utter cruise control.

Only when you dip into weird rotations and optimizations did it become hard to play. Moving the Leyline is kindof whatever: it really only helps people that didn't know fight timings, and even then you'll still get to see the dupes who drop it right below a cutscene or transition and it sits there doing nothing.

Like, the change to make B4 refill your mana - who is this for? In the basic rotation, you do B3->B4~Thunder->F3. The only time this would clip your mana for AF was if you were standing in a leyline, and so you just ensure that you throw a xenoglossy in ice or use ice-paradox. It was a very minor optimization that everyone who played the job would pick up on naturally, but now that's too much thinking so it needs to play itself and have zero room to fuck up.
Fuck the haters, Sharpcast was cringe and I am glad to see it gone. Not being able to use paradox in ice is interesting
The only issue with Sharpcast was that having to expend one to ensure you got thunderhead felt like total shit. Having thunderhead's proc be RNG was annoying as shit if it didn't go off in that 30s window.

And dropping Paradox-ice is interesting in that it completely shreds an optimized line that allowed for more mobility?

Whereas before you could Despair -> Xenoglossy -> Weave Transpose + Lucid Dreaming (necessary to ensure you don't clip 1K mana and miss a F4) -> Paradox-Ice ~Weave Sharpcast -> B4 -> Refresh Thunder (ideally with thunderhead, but if hardcast followed with the other Xenoglossy) -> Weave Transpose -> Firestarter F3, now you can't do any of that and are stuck with the basic rotation. Your optimization is limited to finishing off ice with thunderhead or xenoglossy -> weave transpose - > guaranteed paradox firestarter.

I don't really like it, because part of the charm of BLM was that it had a basic, easy way to play and then 3 or 4 other weirdass rotations you could try out based on the encounter that offered up lots of opportunities to fuck up in. Their endless march to ensure there's literally just one way to play every single class, and that every rotation is simple, makes the game a lot more repetitive.

About the only change that I like is the manafont one - turning it into a more-obvious damage cooldown than what it was before, where it was just an extra F4 and Despair. Of course, this makes me think they're just leaning more into the 2-minute-meta, which BLM really didn't particpate in beyond the leyline timing. Compressing F4 and B4 to the same button will fuck up muscle memory but is an okay change; making Despair turn into Umbral Soul is... I guess also saving some space, so whatever.

At first I malded over monk changes but now after thinking and studying the new stuff more closely, I am honestly happy with the upcoming monk.

So the Hunt trains on my DC are spamming charitable donations for the Trevor Project in-game. I'm curious if this is reportable because holy shit the Pride Month bullshit is getting beyond annoying.

Although I do like how the spindly, gangly freakshow mark on the moon is celebrated for being 'trans.' Continue being utterly clueless, morons.

You only need a party of 8 to do DRN. If you're not getting any luck in PF, try another DC, as I had no problems running the fuck out of it the past few months or so.

I don't think begging for money is strictly against TOS as long as they aren't offering anything in return that would land it in RMT territory but that's the closest I can think of. It's hard to argue it's disruptive behavior if it's the train conductors spamming it. I think as much as I want it to be a breaking offense I can't think of what exactly it would fall under. I guess you can always report it and see if anything comes of it. Normally the answer is to bully them until they stop but SE has taken the rainbow pill and will permaban anyone who laughs at them. The only other solution I can think of is to spam a counter charity that would upset them, but would have to be given the same protection as theirs. Maybe then SE will step in and say ok neither of you can use our game to beg for money. I can't really think of what would be the funniest charity to counter beg.

I was thinking it falls under the 'real life politics' shit.
