There's no problem with getting hyped, just don't be one of those faggots that loses their mind if servers are congested at some point, or there's a bottleneck ala Raubahn EX. Personally, I'm doing MSQ to the first dungeon, then probably gonna level VPR a little while I wait for the friends I want to play with that couldn't get the day off.

Sidenote: I've been part of every early access. Stormblood was the only one that had any real issues. I just went and levelled RDM to 60 and then continued when the crowds had mostly filtered through. They have put in tons of effort with each expansion to make the congestion as painless as possible, but you can't buy a bunch of servers to support an average daily playerbase that will drop considerably in the following six months.
 
I'm gonna push the MSQ as far as I can, then pivot to gatherers to take advantage of early demand while I can. I work from home so can thankfully get more time in than most. I'm hoping Solution 9 is a proper city ala Radz-at-Han so I can make it my new crafting spot. Love the aesthetic of it.

Lmao, Xeems released a fucking 6 hour long video interviewing Katie, the supposed ground zero for Leonel's unhinged behavior.

Edit: 11 min in and Katie seems to have a hard time articulating her thoughts. Xeems is trying to help her along by paraphrasing for chat because they're having a hard time understanding her scatterbrained thought process. It takes her 5 minutes to express a thought and Xeems has to summarize for her in a few sentences. I hope she gets better as the video goes on because trying to follow what she's saying is like trying to listen to a downey read out shakespeare.

He's within his right to quit if he wants based on what he currently sees. He's followed the game long enough and has had a gripe with things for a while now which he feels hasn't been addressed. If he doesn't want to play, than it isn't right to make someone play something they're unhappy with. It's not your responsibility to convince people to stay subbed.

Be glad that he's pulling out with some dignity and isn't pulling a Lynx Kameli. I do hope he comes back in the thread every now and then even if he doesn't play anymore, I'll miss him.

Just enjoy the game, have fun, and wish those moving on from the game well.

I'm looking forward to not having to sleepwalk Aetherfont for Causality and Comedy tomestones. Shame I'll have to farm Aesthetics at 100
 
I did high-end raids in a previous MMO, and one of my draws for FF14 was that there was plenty to do in the game that was not singularly focused on high-end content. Most of the statics I hear about on my server pushing high-end content sound stressful. Like they are second jobs, but worse, which lines up with my prior experience. I think most of the player base does not find that content to be aspirational.

For all the videos pointing out how Endwalker has been the "downfall of FFXIV" the target audience of mostly casual players that like dabbling in hard endgame raiding from time to time seem to be pretty happy with the state of things.

Okay don't bother watching the Xeems vid on Katie. She is literally too retarded to follow.
I made in for a hour before I had to stop because the bitch is just so insufferable to listen to that it took all my willpower to not just reach for my ears and claw at them until I became deaf so I didn't have to hear her talk anymore.
Here's what I gathered in that 1 hour of absolute suffering:

1.) She only ever says 2 new pieces of information that are basically useless: that she met him when she was 17 and that they met over LoL. Everything else is just information everyone already knew.
2.) She likes to talk about herself....a lot. To the point where this video is less a "reveal all" and more like "Katie's therapy session about her social anxiety"
3.) Xeems never tardwrangles her. He's too nice and sits there listening to her yap endlessly about herself. There are times where he tries to keep her focused on the actual topics but she immediately derails everything to make it exclusively about herself and her personal social issues, dismissing every attempt Xeems makes with a phrase along the lines of "I'll get to that" without ever actually getting to it.
4.) Any time she actually talks about Leonel it's just to reiterate how much of a manipulator he is and when Xeems asks her how Leonel took advantage of her using manipulation, she goes off on another sperg about how socially awkward she is and never makes the connection, leaving Xeems and everyone watching to connect the dots themselves.
5.) She takes 5 trillion years to make a point instead of just getting to it. There are a lot of "uuh" and "aaah" and just periods of utter silence while her smooth brain works overtime to think of the next word to use. Because of that she'll immediately lose you leaving Xeems to basically paraphrase for her because she's too retarded to explain herself properly. Like, she'll ramble and then Xeems will have to say "So what you're saying is..."

I feel bad that she was a victim. She went through hell and had to live with the fact that her own flesh and blood brother as well as strangers on the internet has seen her naked on a porn site because of this nutbag. But I really don't understand what was the point of her doing this. There was nothing to reveal, everyone knew everything already because they've seen the court documents. Xeems already made videos talking about it extensively. Maybe more is revealed later but I'm sure as shit not wading through 5 more hours of bullshit to find any kernels of actual information about Leonel. Someone else can torture themselves.

Extremes and high-ilvl Savages (not progression raiding where everything is tuned super tight) are an okay difficulty level and worth trying if you can find a chill static. In WoW terms it's slightly harder than normal difficulty raids.

I will never touch Ultimates again.

He also made a video a while ago that got ripped apart by most of the usual talking heads. Arthars made some good points in his video where he watched it. The guy's main talking point about mechanics is how everything boils down to "stand and let thing resolve" like he cracked the fucking matrix or something. Of course you're standing and letting it resolve, what else are you gonna fucking do? He makes zero attempts to make any point to this effect. You do the thing and then either die because someone didn't do the thing, or move on to the next thing you need to stand and let resolve. He starts rambling around the 16 minute mark.

 
Hmmm no mention of making it so unfriending people removes you from their friends list as well. Guess I'm gonna be stuck on some trannies' friend lists forever.

Had this on in the background, I agree and can back up your second post: it's a lot of retarded rambling from someone who clearly has issues and isn't worth your time. It takes her 30 minutes to tell a story about how, when they met, she sent him a real pic while he catfished her with people from his highschool. He lied about going to NYU to try and impress her, sterotypical catfishing stuff. Funny that Lionel used white dudes to catfish though.

The main perk of this, even if it is an exhausting ramble, is that it comes from her mouth. One of Desolance's main crusading points is that Xeems doesn't have any real women who will say this live on mic, and Xeems proved that he does.

Funny enough, Lionel been weirdly radio silent on his youtube since this was recorded. He was consistently making multiple schizo posts a day for nearly a month and now and hasn't made a post in going on 4 days now. The Interview was recorded 6/22, same day as last desolance community post. Curious.
