Flags & Vexillology

Yet. Their working on it. Alot of the redesigns were pure modern art cancer.
Since we are on the subject, this is Minnesotas new state seal.

Which I cannot thumbnail because TOR sucks.

But you can see what I am talking about and hopefully a mod will come along and fix.

Anyway, normally I am reflexively averse to clear native American imagery in current year, as it's usually wokist sophistry, but they made it work here. The Loon is definitely imposing, and the native American name for the region fits historically. So it gets a pass.
I was going to post Minnesota's new seal here but forgot. I love their new seal too but by Christ how did they mess up the final design? I guess they took out the green and white so it would look more like the seal - which has green and white in it. They didn't need to tweak the Polaris Tricolor at all. Oh well, Minnesota is a depressing blue shithole anyway. We can just change it when the pendulum swings again this century.

@Romeo Great job on those concepts. Circles of text (roundels) around intricate emblems are a kind of Americanism. They're based off the round physical seals pressed into wax that were everywhere in early America. These seals were the only experience us Mutts had with emblems, and since shields and coats of arms were too Eurogay and elitist we started using the roundel design for our crests and emblems.
Also stretching out the seal into a flag is a proud Leafish tradition:

Kyrgyzstan updated their flag about a month ago but only now is the change receiving attention, possibly due to the fact that the nation is yet another Central Asian country that offers nothing to the world except for free land for the Chinese.

Thoughts? The intent was to make the symbol look more like a sun, rather than a sunflower, which is a silly mistake that only a person whose eyes are firmly squinted could make. Oh wait.

The first Xbox country.

Both are great designs but I prefer the first. It's simpler and more fluid (for lack of a better word). I don't know what the Kyrgyzstanis have against sunflowers. Their country is rugged and sunflowers grow in fertile plains, so maybe they don't want foreigners thinking they're a flat country. Also their country's name looks weird and should be spelled Kirigistan, but whatever.
Also here's their emblem. It's nice but generic and it doesn't match the flag at all:

Vorkuta is the coldest city in Europe and I have no idea why its population is above zero but I think its flag is rather cool.

Top is the flag of Republic of Komi Flag_of_Komi.svg.png with bottom being Russian tricolor.

(Also it's strange that no one itt posted the flag of Jewish Autonomous Oblast of Russia.)

Flag proposed by Juan Jose Marcilla de Teruel-Moctezuma y Valcarcel a descendant in direct male line from the last emperor of the Aztecs for his proposed rule over Mexico. He still offers to become their emperor every presidential election cycle in Mexico.
I'm a sucker for a nice Burgundy cross and the use of black makes it stand out.
With this offer of a flag may my posting here be fruitful, uneventful and without 30day bans for shit reasons.

Banja Luka, de facto capital of the Serbian part of Bosnia has a decent enough flag, if a little boring. The old roman/turkish Kastel, the river flowing through the city and the local dajak boats. Pretty standard stuff.

Their coat of arms however, holy shit

Here we have the standard flag on a shield with a crown. But then, on a field of chestnut and linden leaves, we have Petar Kočić* on the left and Ban** Svetislav Milosavljević on the right.

While Kočić is modestly dressed, old Milosavljević is rocking full evening dress, the order of the White Eagle (possibly with swords***), the Order of St. Sava with sash, and a nondescript star-shaped order.

Their flagpoles are also crowned with crowns of thorns.

This is so bad it's kind of hilarious.

* A somewhat famous writer, rabble-rouser and politician
** a kind of viceroy
*** The order of the White Eagle and White Eagle with Swords are separate and very similar, which wasn't confusing at all to research...

*FINAL GODDAMN EDIT* Fucking orders and medals...
On the topic of Balkan ethnic enclaves, while snooping around trying to find where the Sandžak coat of arms comes from, I found out that it is infact officially the coat of arms of the Bosniac National Council, and not Sandžak itself (or I beleive so)

And I also quite like this flag, it has very nice color synergy, although from what I understand the white background flag is more common.

This one has a suspicious amount of creases, friend 🤔

I had a lot of trouble finding a pic the specific one an I'm not going to spend the time to wipe exif data. It's not as high as Old Glory but, it hangs clean and proud.

Don't like it, to be honest. It's partially based on being balkanese and disliking everyone who isn't like me, but mostly because i just don't like blue and green in combination.

Also the three crescents are just too oddly stacked and kind of force the bend downwards. If i was to redesign it i'd probably go for one large crescent moon, and raise the bend and fleur-de-lys little so it looks more symmetrical.
