Games With Really Spergy Fanbases That You Still Enjoy

Even a Persona fag like myself hates the Persona fanbase. It's all teenagers who haven't played the first two games (sometimes even the first three games), waifufags who flame each other over fictional Japanese teenagers, people who complain that every second Atlus spends on Persona is a second they could be spending on SMT, yaoi shippers, and SJWs.

Sometimes I just want to be a Japanese high school student who summons a giant penis monster from my brain to take down demons, okay?

I've really gotten into the Fire Emblem series after playing FE7 on Virtual Console, but the fanbase is a little ehhhhhhh....

Just stay away from /r/FireEmblem and the Serenes Forest Forum and you should be okay for the most part.

I don't know if it's still around that much any more, but the old "Squad Leader" tabletop game fan community. Hole-Lee-Sheeeit. These guys do major WW-2 battles right down the individual squads that took part. Hell, for some of the small unit actions, I've seen guys use the individual people who took part in those smaller battles.

Battle-Tech geeks are just as bad. Man, one of the gaming shops I went to had several tables devoted to those guys. Whoo-Eee. I could give you sperg tales for days on whether or not Clan heat sinks should be allowed for Inner Sphere merc groups after the Battle For Terra unless that merc group had salvage contracts for a particular battlefield, that can only be supported by canon.

Which may be half a sentence in one of Stackpole's novels.

The only people worse than those guys were the Model Train spergs.

You've never seen a sperg sperg till you've seen a model train sperg sperg. You think those guys who buy $11K worth the DLC for Train Simulator 2016 are bad? I worked at a model store, and IRL model train guys have returned models of engines because the wrong number of rivets were on the steam engine. Because the amount of bolts on the boxcar was wrong. I've seen a guy come in and drop $5K on a bunch of models. The shop I worked out delivered, because some of these guys never leave their houses and make fucking bank off the VB programs they make for other train spergs to control the big ass train layouts. One of the places I visited to deliver two vans worth the stuff, all the interior walls except for I guess like 1 or two rooms, were cut away, with just the load bearing beams remaining.

The entire rest of the house was dedicated to a scale model layout, including small mining towns, villages, log camps, stuff like this. This guy had actual small figures from Germany that he'd order through the shop.

According to my boss, who'd been in the business of model trains since I was a kid, that dude's house wasn't even that bad.

Train spergs, Battle Tech geeks, and Squad Leader spergs. The like of which you cannot find even on the worst sperg forums.

Tabletop war sim fans in general are total fags.

Ignore Space Marine players, they're all idiot twelve-year-olds who don't know how to play
Ignore Chaos players, they're edgy tryhards who throw a fit if you imply Chaos won't "win" 40k
Ignore Necron players, they're in the midst of a skub civil war
Ignore Guard players, they're manlet stormweenies who unironically spam HFY memes
Ignore Tau players, they're weaboo munchkins who will ruin your game with Devilfish cheese
Ignore Eldar players, they're all powergaming drama queens who pout and bitch when they lose
Ignore Ork players, they're overweight mental malfunctions who scream WAAAAAGH when they win, spraying you with Cheeto-colored sputum.
Ignore AdMech players, every single one has tried having sex with a vacuum cleaner
Ignore Sisters players, they're butthurt waifufags who are mad no one cares about their shitty army
Ignore Dark Eldar players, they masturbate in public bathrooms.

Blood Bowl is superior anyway. In the grim darkness of the far fantasy, there is only football.

The Kingdom Hearts fanbase. I like the franchise but its fanbase is nothing but virgin nerds, weebs, autists obsessing over their favorite Disney movie while being well into their fourties, pedos and furries. They spend their time either demanding that their favorite cartoon be featured in the next game (and REEEEEing when it does not), arguing over which characters are secretly trans or engaging in stupid shipping wars.

They should be nuked.

Can you show me your Gir keychains sometime?

I'd like to add on to this to say that the SMT fanbase in general is pretty shitty. Shit tons of nocturne elitism, and I/II elitists lording it over the Nocturne elitists; not to mention people who take the elitism to all new highs and insist you're not a "true fan" if you never played the original Megami Tensei games on famicom. Oh yeah, and that's ignoring all of the spinoff continuities and communities focused on games like Devil Survivor; all their own breeding grounds for elitism and generally shitty attitudes.

It's a shame, really, because mainline MegaTen is easily one of my favourite RPG series, but it's such a fucking pain to introduce new players to, because the community's a shit-ton of "git gud" sperging and installment elitism that makes games with a fairly decent difficulty curve (exception being IV, a game that somehow gets less difficult the further you progress) near impossible to "properly" introduce to people unless they get into the series entirely of their own accord.

At least the mainline SMT series seems near-impervious to the shipping community; it always has that in its favour.

There's also the people who talk about the Alignment System being SO DEEP when it's just

Law Route: You're Actually A Fascist
Chaos Route: Not Correct, But People Think It Is
Neutral Route: Objectively Correct
>He vouched for NCR being the right ending.
>Still he thinks he has the right to talk about "objectively correct" solutions.
Lol. :epik:

what, you didn't do independent? you don't want to be the king of vegas?
I mentioned Independent Vegas as one of the Right Paths, but as is to be expected in a New Vegas discussion I mentioned the NCR and suddenly myself and everyone who cares lost all civility.

It's an occupational hazard to being a New Vegas sperg.

when you can be captain vegas, a mummy's right hand man, or put football gear wearing romans in charge, i'd say anyone that wants to instead give california the keys deserves to be mocked

Yeah, but this is Post-Apocalyptic California, where they've presumably shot all the SJWs and there's no internet to get in the way of common sense... at least, I'd hope so.

Counter evidence: The Followers of The Apocalypse. :^)

>He wants the government with an inflated currency and no actual central industry.
>The one with a completely worthless and parasitic economy.
>The one that has to constantly expand and trade in order to keep itself afloat.
>The expansion which also bleeds their resources and men dry.
>The one corrupt to the core (while said corruption being the only reason why they haven't collapsed yet)
>The one that constantly encroaches on people's lands and forces them to pay taxes to live in their own homes.
>The one with especially high taxes that specifically target the proletarian and actual producers in order to give the caravan monopolies leeway to expand more.
>The one that uses prisoners as slave labor ( a system which they are definitely corrupt enough to abuse)
>The one that isn't even competent enough to stop said slaves from a revolution.
>The one that can't even protect its own people.
>The one that is made so blatantly clear to collapse with absolutely nothing worthwhile lost.
>The one that has zero real benefit for really anyone (except for "muh raiders" which the NCR is clearly shown to be inconsistent with and which could easily be provided by House or Legion anyway)
LITERALLY the worst option.

I mean at least they're not cartoonishly, mustache-twirlingly evil like the Legion is. Do they have anything to offer beyond slavery and rape? Yeah, all that violent conquest is gonna work out fantastic when your huge base of slave labor and forced converts finally get sick of your shit and rebel.

I mean, Mr. House may be full on Bread and Circuses but he's gotten shit done on a smaller scale. And done right, Independent Vegas is a pretty fantastic ending...

Is it too late to rescind my support for the NCR and acknowledge myself as an overly optimistic idiot?

Five nights at Freddy's
Nice, simple, lore-ridden horror game that overall had quite the impact, even getting me into 3d modelling. Kickass fangames too. Scott seems to be a fun guy. While it does seem to have calmed down recently and is nowhere as bad, the fucking chaos surrounding it is absurd. and then the furrys....

Undertale
Fucking tumblr-infested and obsessed with aus, probably the most prolific source of them in all known fandoms. Makes great music though.
