Does anyone know how to properly archive this autism board?
This is a collage of literally every piece of information we know about HLX from datamines and leaks in excruciating detail with sources and citations. Archive sites don't work so I can only archive it from screenshotting individually because it's fucking gigantic.

I wasn't a believer before, but this was enough info to sway my mind. If not this year, then at least in this decade.

As for archiving, what you've done is the best possible solution. With a free account the export options are laughably bad and intentionally force you to pay for the Business package.

Holy crap. I had heard the rumors but I didnt know there was this much detail. This pretty much confirms it as what other game are they making with Xen and Combine NPCs. Shows you most "journalists" are not digging deep on these leaks.

I like the shitpost section of it.

I think Black Mesa's enjoyable up until Xen. I think it's legitimately worse than the original. That said, I do like the improved weapons handling animations so much that I decided to get my hands on this Half-Life 1 mod here. It blends Black Mesa animations with Half-Life 1-inspired original models. It even adds an empty reload animation for the MP5!
Seeing trigger discipline in such an old game is a strange experience, but one I appreciate. My personal head-canon is that Gordon is a civilian gun-owner, which explains why he was able go toe-to-toe with trained soldiers.

I do genuinely wonder how people generally imagine Freeman in their minds. Me, I can't see him as anything but Ross' character from Freeman's Mind, it just clicks so perfectly.

This is going to make for some nice reading later

funny seeing that coming from a dumb nigger that hasn't played the training course which is mandatory for any HEV suit candidate...

Oh, I'm aware of the Hazard Course Tutorial, but there isn't really a good reason as to why Gordon is being trained on firearms use when his field has nothing to do with it. Even notable Half-Life fan Yahtzee Crowshaw acknowledged how flimsy the reasoning is during his playthrough of it. The only reason it does is because it needs to teach the player on it, because it would be silly if an FPS game didn't teach the player on how to use guns.

At least with Blue Shift, the fact that there's a gun range actually makes sense.

now you are going to the theorizing field alongside crowshaw but that would be going into ludonarrativebullshitfuckery once you get at the scientist with the gluon gun thing, as well as the portal to xen explanation but again, narrative shit theorizing.
the scientist even says "i hope you gots yer long jump training or else yous fucked" which can be again, theorized into canonizing the hazard course which canonizes the gun training, he even tells you to practice the long jump during the portal warmup.
ya git.
and lore lorey bullshittery let's not even go to the PS2 which makes the hazard course a real thang but PS2 half life was made after PC half life so it's kind of dubious i think? i guess it depends on what point is desired to make but i'm getting too old for that gay shit.1750081571831.webp
