Hitler got a mention like...a lifetime ago in the first full episode but that's about it.
Wait, really? Was it subtle? I'm intrigued now...
I'd say it's cause vivziepop only wants to be safe edgy but not too edgy for the sake of edgy, but that kinda of edgy evokes (or insults) Christian symbols all the time. Mainly cause while Christians will still get butthurt over being mocked, they're not exactly the faith that ties people to burning stakes or breaks every bone in their bodies on giant wooden wheels anymore.
Bingo.

Mrs mayberry: you make one little murder by blind rage and they stick you down here with all the hitlers and epstiens.

That's about it The one reference to dolf we get and instead having him portrayed as a warlord worshiped by the demon ghosts of his cabinet and the German army he commanded (and Tom Metzger) we have...everything these shows decided to do instead of demon nazi warlords.

Does anyone else find it ironic that this short had the line, "You're one of those," after Viv made an image with several HB characters for Pride Month? Maybe it's like the fourth wall joke where Blitzo mentioned all the "freaks" who would drool over Loona. Or maybe the inclusive crowd is not all that inclusive (shocking, I know).

The short has a few weird jokes like that in it. Sometimes I get the feeling that Viv is actually quite homophobic (conservative, even) and hides it pretty well. We already know from the "Retard" incident that the only thing stopping her from doing more edgelord stuff is potential backlash from the army of teenagers that follow her stuff.

My guess is that Viv realized that there are some people who don't like the faggy melodrama that her alleged comedy show has devolved into and decided to start making shorts like this more comedy focused to appease people who aren't interested in the Stolas Wankery Hour; i.e. this thread.

It could even be that somewhere deep inside Viv wants to write comedy but feels pressured to write faggy melodrama for the sake of her audience. Though given her pattern of behavior this probably isn't the case.

Is Lackadaisy good? I'll eventually have no choice but to watch it since there are no good cartoons anymore and I'm looking for something to snort.
Most of it is in webcomic form currently but there's a pilot and a number of shorts, much like Hazbin was for a while in the period where it looked like it could be good. I've liked what I've seen and already having a fairly developed background and cast of characters (who are portrayed consistently), and pleasingly period-accurate art, I think it has a lot better chance to end up good in the long run too.
EDIT: I heard things about this show, not much but a few things. Is it any good? Seems like a Noir thing but with cats. That by itself seems interesting.
It's pretty much that. It reminds me somewhat of Bluth-era Disney. And since that can be taken in more than one way, I mean it in the good way.

I don't know about that either, if Viv wanted to write comedy, she could choose too, and the first short was not really funny.

I don't think she's specifically homophobic, in fact she seems like an outright fujoshi to me, but she isn't particularly woke and wants to be an edgelord, but has apparently decided she's afraid to piss off the tumblr and tumblr-adjacent crowd who now and always were part of the fanbase.

So no more retard jokes, no Angel Dust edgy humor, basically a lot of the stuff that separated HH pilot stuff from current material never gets to happen again.

Ok, I had to re-watch the mini-episode.
It's not as terrible as I first thought.
It could've been a lot better tho... for example, if blitzo, instead of stabbing the girl, had instead snapped her neck and then use the extra time to enjoy the silence for a few seconds before making a sigh of relief.
Soundtrack is also pretty poorly managed IMO, they could've made a good contrast by keeping it silent after the weeb dies and in the office, only to start again the moment she start screaming from outside the building.
I do agree the shorts lacks any final punchline, they could've easily have had blitzo tell loona "hey, guess who got you you a new chewtoy?", and have her either make make a grin or walk away while slowly shaking her head.

Out of all the shorts this one is the best one which isn't saying a lot as this would be a 6.5 if I had to grade it, but it had a few laughs which is all that matters. It stuck to the original series premise of people paying IMP to kill humans that wrong them. I feel this is probably the best direction the shorts should stay in if the main series sticks to just being a drama.

Compared to the other shorts where the first one is just there to tell people Millie had a character outside her husband, and still couldn't stand on her own.

The second one had a good premise but the comedy felt the most forced with the "Slurs" Penguins feeling like a forced meme rather than an actual joke. The sexual jokes also felt like they stuck around way too long and this was probably the worst one since extremely bad comedy is always worse than bad drama or bad horror, at least you could get unintentional laughs from it (like Apology tour is hilarious for all the moments that try to make the viewers sad)

Chris Chan reference. Well, probably not, if someone's deep enough in the lore they can probably explain how Chris got the idea in the first place, it's probably somehow related to that.
Legit the first thing I thought of when I saw the episode. Seriously. a cursed ass medallion that smells like Sallie May hog ass and sends you down a darker path than ever before? I definitely think Ember is an in-universe lolcow and has her own Kiwi Farms thread and was mailed the medallion Nick Rekieta-style.

The Hellaverse Farms are probably sitting on evidence that demons are visiting Earth, but instead of forwarding it to world governments, they just make lolcow threads on people like Stolas, Stella, Verosika, maybe even Lucifer himself if there was enough material.

LoL, that's silly. Then again there's circles in hell so whatever. I still think there should be a circle of treason, would add extra mistery to the show - but I guess that would give Dante Aligueri too much credit.

I do like how the Heaven and Hell characters look like. The characters from Earth? Ehhh, reminds me of Ren & Stimpy a bit too much, with jagged teeth. Ralphie reminded me of 2 Dumb Dogs' Mr. Hollywood for some reason (not 1:1 obviously):
Also thanks, it seems like a show to give it a watch!

Her sin that led her to hell was suicide because she intentionally let herself be killed by a demon.
Would be interesting to see if they have an "underserving" target, meaning one who will go to heaven. That would show a darker side to them, and I think it would be interesting, if played right.

They could also steal a joke from Smiling Friends and have people go to hell for the most minimal of things.
