Kind of out of the blue, since I was thinking of writing up a full rewrite here but scraped it, I still think Carmilla is one of the most shit characters of Hazbin, for the simple fact she's on paper a ruthless arms dealer but in practice the one thing the show makes it seem like she did bad was trying to cover up the fact angels are vulnerable to their own weaponry. It blindingly obvious who Viv wants you like or dislike.
Quite funny how we as an audience are supposed to be conflicted about that fact.
Like honey, you’re a demon in hell I’m pretty sure the only reason people would be upset with you is that your having fun without them.

Angelic weapons shouldn't be easy access to the people in Hell. With how willy-nilly angels leave their weapons, we should see more Sinners running around with those weapons killing each other. Because I'm sure there are plenty of them that would want whoever they are killing to stay dead instead of just reviving later on.

And Carmilla is another stupid character that doesn't make sense. She's an arms dealer that doesn't want blood on her heads...but is actively selling weapons that not only hurts others, but permanently kills them. In her conception and pilot days she was a cold calculating business woman, but for whatever reason Viv decided to make those two Sinners in the pilot that are collecting angelic weapons Carmilla's daughters to make her more soft. Why? Maybe Viv was tired of hearing people complain that there weren't enough mother characters in her shows.

IMO, Carmilla's character sounds neat on paper they probably could've made her one of the characters who was wrongfully in hell if they written her that she killed someone to protect her daughters while she was alive.

Angelic weapon is such a retarded plot point that trying to put in any semi-serious monster attack setting really highlights the sheer absurdity.

Imagine if in Demon Slayer the demons attacked villages with magical katanas and then they dropped their weapons for no reason before leaving. Then one single person grabs ALL those magical katanas and sells them on black market so people can buy it to kill more people... Then it turns out the magical katana can kill demons but no one has ever tried swinging back at them for thousands of years! WHOA!

It really ties into how The Extermination themselves are written in a confusingly and contradictory way since we don't know when they were even started at all because with how Adam is the guy who pitched the idea and Eve is somehow in Heaven pretending to be Lilith while the show leaves a hook that Lilith and Alastor both disappeared for 7 years.

It feels like the range for when the exterminations started could be from 10,000 years to 7 years, which again the demon uprising plot would make the larger numbers look almost ridiculous

Really, the exterminations  should have only been going on for a handful of years maximum, because then it would be much easier to buy some of the stupid shit like the exterminations somehow being kept secret to nearly all of Heaven, and how nobody has figured out that exorcists are vulnerable to their own weaponry.

Why do I have a feeling that the exterminations happened right when Charlie was born? I definitely feel like that could be a big revelation that happens in season 3.

Yeah it's pretty likely the exterminations happened for at most for 20-something years (since Charlie is in her 20s according to the wiki) yet the series didn't go through much script changes since they act like it's been around for thousands of years or that it's done for population control.

Vivzie really should have something to check over her scripts for these continuity inconsistencies.

Well the good news is they can't be any more annoying than the mainstays we already have. Blitzo raises your tolerance level for awful characters up by several magnitudes.
Damn then that must mean Stolas can overcome any tolerance barrier of annoyance since everytime Vivzie does something, it's somehow more annoying than the last most annoying thing she did with him.

That's why I call her CarMax. It's a portmanteau of Carmilla and Maxine, her original name. Due to the lack of reference to angelic weaponry to her name, and the plot of the comic she was going to debut in, it seems like they were going to take her character in a different direction then what we end up getting with only a few aspects staying intact such as developing a respect for Vaggie.

I thought she was supposed to be something like two-hundred.
She is suppose to be like an anime protagonist. So she's thousands of years old but only is aged to be in her 20's.

Remember when we thought that about Stolas only for him to be in his 30s

Its to project on Stolas more because he's her age. If you think about it Charlie is Vivs age when she pitched H.H. Now its Stolas being her age currently. The spin off of the V's is going to be her being 40's and Valentino having his midlife crisis.

On the subject of Angelic weaponry, a thought crossed my mind: Carmilla explains that if a demon were to get access to one, they're too afraid to use it against an Exorcist. Understandable as an offense, but what about defense?
Vox said that he has a new brand of Angelic Security in Episode 2. You can't say he was talking shit because he then whispered to his assistant to get him contact with Carmilla, implying he's gonna use angelic steel as material for the security. So... did the Vees know how Exorcists can be harmed, but are just pretending not to to have that accountability fall on Carmilla?

Made a throwaway for this - I'm surprised nobody has posted this yet, but some animator who is apeing the shows style very accurately posted a fan animation where Stolas very graphically shoots himself in the head. Mostly got wind of it because reddit keeps recommending me posts of seemingly literal children being quite distraught after seeing it on tiktok. I'm not autistic enough to find the uncensored but thought it would interest you all.

I cannot download and post here via NewPipe as it is age restricted. Not sure how to archive age restricted videos.

and just for fun, a little edit I made:

The age thing is just another fact that makes the whole "Hell" setting kind of meaningless. Every character behaves the same no matter how old they are anyway.

Charlie is definitely like 19. You'd probably be thinking that doesn't make any sense and you would be right but Viv has been pretty clear that she doesn't like her favorites to be older than her.
I know that in livestreams back then, that Hell years run differently than Earth years. Charles is over 200 Hell years. Though this was back in the pilot days, so that could have changed

Reminds me of that one picture of Striker holding Stolas' dismembered head to an offscreen Octavia.

That long pause where he’s staring into your soul is very uncomfortable. Otherwise I cut myself on the edge.
