Goddamn the late nineties-2000s were filled with great reboots of Saturday morning cartoons. Beast Wars, transformers armada, Cybertron, animated, and prime, ninja turtles 03, G.I. Joe resolute, spectacular Spider-Man. you could consider the dcau a reboot of the old batman and Superman cartoons as well as superfriends. Hell as cringy and degenerate as the fandom can get. Everything these days is made by people with a bitter hatred of truth, and that meanness of spirit infects everything they do.

You're really hitting the nail on the head about what's appealing about 80s culture, in it's own exaggerated, larger than life way, it was tapping into truth far more than modern culture, 80s culture was all about capturing the "essence" of what made something cool or interesting.

People really had the right idea back then, the 1980s was the best blueprint for our modern world, but almost as soon as it was over we started moving away from it, slathering everything in 50 shades of irony to now where anything genuine is getting smothered, irony is played the fuck out, it's time for a return to earnestness.

We should be living in a futuristic version of the 1980s, not the bizarro clown world of today.

I agree looking back at the 80s. There role models for both men and women equally despite what whiney lefties say. Compare to now with only girls are allowed to have good role models. Well boys can not with the exception of beta soyboys.

I agree. As someone said above Golden Girls. I watch an episode lately. It was the episode where Dorothy's daughter gets married and her ex-husband comes for the wedding. That episode ending where she rightfully puts him in his place for how he ended their long term marriage by a Lawer and just leaving. Was awsome in my opinion. The fact that there are people who say that there were no good role models for girls in the 80s and ignoring stuff like that. Is just insane.

80s had plenty of characters aimed at girls like Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, heck, it was even the decade My Little Pony debuted, just because 80s culture leaned in the direction of males, doesn't mean females were totally left out in the cold, but today people see this as a zero sum game.

Even the 90s was better with this, girl culture was huge in the 90s, but so was boy culture.
