Hit by Youtube's AdBlocker detection. Help needed.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
i've noticed ads have started showing in the "recommended videos" section but not during the video itself. youtube itself also feels a lot laggier the last few days. i've wiped filters but hasn't helped, anyone else have same issue?
firefox stable (windows + linux) with only ublock and password manager extension

YouTube and Google are notorious for making their site lag on Firefox and other browsers that are not Chrome. Not even Chromium based just all other browsers than Chrome. They also have made their sites lag on mobile, even on their own browsers, to try to force users into using the app versions of a site as well. Apple has done this as well.

Ad blocker popup is happening again after not happening for me for months.

I have both AdBlocker Plus and UBlock Origins. This was no problem before for me. It just started back up again this afternoon.

Just want to warn/give a heads up to others.

Running multiple adblockers is a waste of resources. uBO is better than ABP and should work well by itself.
I use uBO in its vanilla configuration. I never see ads, and I've never had YT block me, although I now also automatically redirect to FreeTube.

The fuck?

Updating revanced didn't fix anything and now it just keeps crashing.

Assuming this still holds true from when i last tested it a simple but most likely not indefinite fix for this is to just log out of your youtube account, i believe as this is only a test run at this point its slowly being rolled out onto specific users accounts that are detected to be using adblock which is why cases of it popping up are so far and few inbetween. if it still is working this way then you should not receive the notice on a unlogged in youtube page. this obviously will break in the future when they decide to go full 1984 and roll it out across the board for all youtube sessions but at that point you should understand how to use yt-dlp or invidious and other such mirrors.
sidenote: i know its already been brought up a ton but them actually using allowlisted in these notices is the most pussified globalist garbage i have ever seen a company do.
(tho im sure there are greater examples that i dont even want to know about) the decrepit coders that actually throw away their morals for a paycheck at google and any other "tech company" should be put to death for being such inhuman automatons

I just got put on the bad boy list. This is the case for me, logging out fixed it as well as just logging onto a burner account.

I've been watching this for a while and haven't experienced anything other than the Tube Pro app breaking a month or so ago, I just got hit by it, or at least I think I did. I'm getting ads on youtube today like I don't have an ad blocker at all. Firefox using adnauseam FWIW. Interesting turn of events.

on brave running uBO, if i pause a video (a long vod for example) and come back to it much later, it takes a LONG time to restart and sometimes shows me a single (non-animated, flat) ad panel that i have to dismiss. i think "ads on pause" is some new youtube feature that the adblockers are still coming to terms with

they dont want you to know but if the yt system thinks your a russian or your running russian vpns the ads are outta window since they cannot cash in your time span due to shift sanctions, if your using slav vpns though there are odds stuff like yt blog images and pfps wont load because russoids unironically banned specific google servers for posting stuff they dont like but not whole yt

it also works other way you can see most region restricted shit otherwise

source i live there lmao

People been complainin' about getting blocked by yt on this thread, but then nobody posted anything to help them. Would like to see what blocklist or script can be used to remove ads and not get blocked by youtube.

I haven't logged into my acct in a while, so I'm not really seeing it, but who knows maybe youtube would block me for having uBlock even if I updated to the last version like some1 pointed out.
It's been over 2 weeks since YouTube updated their anti-adblock script. The website that was tracking whether uBO currently defeats YT's latest scripts has shut down for now, as it's no longer needed: -

I'm sure this isn't the end, but this particular battle has been won by uBO.
Would like to have something to bookmark like a maintained github repo or a pastebin copypasta. Incase something happens.

all i can tell is to use ssh / vpn spoof that makes the yt think your russian / malaysian / any shithole shift excluded country where they cannot run ads or use side clients, first one is best because you technically cuck ad machine from profiting on your ass without losing any function otherwise as with webclient

Use freetube and newpipe (or similar) on your PC and phone respectively. That's literally it. Problem solved.

downloaded freetube because opera GX + ublock isn't working right now. idk how to get the blocker to work on browser yet.

Looks like the redirect thing on Invidious has been reduced to just 3 instances now. YT continues that campaign of blocking Invidious instances with of a combo of those "sign in to prove you're not a bot" BS and "bad gateway" errors BS, among other BS error messages.

YT really wants you to either pay them or watch the "Orange Man bad" ads.
