ITT We argue about how fatties get fat, why they stay fat, and what they should do instead - It's a mystery! It's an obesity sperging containment thread!

Amber I know you read kiwi farms. If by any miracle, Thor himself came to Kentucky and makes you lose weight, this is how you'll look like. Be happy doing mukbangs in your own coffin

The sad thing is that Hamber is way larger than this woman was. This woman still had somewhat normal shaped arms and legs before losing weight. If Hambergerlynn lost a bunch of weight she would still look like a big lumpy mess of fat and skin.

Yeah, that pic's being optimistic. Hamber would look more like a melted candle, like this:

she has the money to remove excess skin and shit....not to mention she'd be a helluva lot healthier

Very taxing surgeries accompanied by a lot of pain that leave a lot of large scars. Nobody should let themselves get to that weight, your body is ruined forever, no matter how many surgeries you have. Take note Kiwi's, this should not ever be you.

Poor Necky having to go searching for the skittle inbetween those folds.

She would at least have a happier life, even as a melted candle. It'd open up all kinds of doors for travel and activities if she invests in some decent compression gear, and allegedly she makes enough money for surgery to correct a lot of it.

Besides, is that really worse looking than her current figure?

I know this woman, her name is Chantelle. She had VSG in 2015, put the work in to lose 102kg, and had plastic surgery last year to remove 6kg of skin from her gunt. Pre-surgery I believe she was around 185kg (400lbs-ish). Even before the plastics she was very active at the gym and just really had a completely different life and outlook. Her husband had VSG around the same time and they lost together (he started at 179kg and is about 100 now)

Basically nothing AL will ever achieve.

Wow

Looks like she was in pretty bad physical shape, as bad as or worse that AL - using a breathing machine at night. It was an immediate eight week milk shake diet, then surgery (there were complications and they were really serious)

more details

Amazing woman.

It’s always PCOS with these bitches.

You know what improves PCOS greatly???

Yep. Weight loss.
And again as it has been mentioned numerous times up thread....PCOS does not cause you to be a Landwhale, the same as medication does not. It may make you 10-30 pounds overweight but that’s it.

Oh god guys, PCOS makes you sooooo fat. Look at this lady and how fat she is. Massive. What a whale.

And yes, she really does have PCOS.

Hahaha, definitely didn't think I'd ever see Leigh Ann here. Ugh, she's incredibly annoying in other ways, can barely boil water, dresses like a slutty 16-year-old at 31, and clearly only married her gross husband because he makes $300K+ a year as a urologist. /OT

But yeah, there are people of all sizes with PCOS. I've read conflicting evidence on whether or not it lowers BMR; it seems some of the more recent studies say no while another firmly said yes by a significant amount (not that a lowered BMR means weight loss is impossible anyhow). It seems like a shitty condition, but obviously a lot of FA people don't even try to manage it properly.

Anna is now leaning into the gaping wound jaundiced look. Hard to believe she posted these stories on IG. How does she not have an air conditioning?
Some of my best memories of summers in the city were desperately seeking any relief from the heat including carrying an absolute unit of an AC through the streets of Brooklyn after finding it on craigslist free for anybody (and a buddy) that wanted to haul it away. You haven't lived until you've carried an AC through Brooklyn in 95 degree heat.

She absolutely has AC in her shoebox but it’s not nearly enough to keep a heifer that big from sweltering on a hot day. Fatties are hot in the dead of winter ffs. Their body temps are fucked due drowning in blubber. She needs industrial fans on top of AC in the heat. A refrigerator or the North Atlantic in Dec is probably her ideal since she’s got seal like blubber.

NYC and AC
I was raised around a generation that grew up in NYC when only movie theaters had AC. They thought their kids and grandkids were wasteful pansies for putting AC in their homes. People raised without AC handle it way better than ppl who are accustomed to constant 70 degree fake climates. Not one of those old people I knew raised before AC were ever fat - not one. They were all lean ppl till they say they died at very old ages - with one still going and nearing 100. (Same guy who drank Crown Royal till 3 am on his 80th birthday) I truly believe climate controlled living has led to a number of health problems. Our bodies need some extremes and fluctuation with the seasons, our bodies are designed for it - not constant 70 degree temps.

One part of the obesity epidemic is due to the prevalence of AC. You know what you don’t do on sweltering days if there’s no AC? Eat a lot. But you do drink lots of water. Cooler temps make our bodies think winter is near so we better eat a bit more to store up fat for winter. If you keep yourself in refreshing cool temps all day you eat more. It’s also way more uncomfortable to be fat in the heat, so it’s a good deterrent.

If they banned AC for anyone over 250 lbs we’d half the obesity rate in two years.

So a small section of my previous nutrition class talked about what is best eaten in certain temperatures and did mention that it's best to eat light salads and mostly avoid excessive carbs in the summer for a few reasons
  • Eating fresh fruits and veggies gives more water and dehydrates less
  • Heavy foods make you lethargic and the heat already does that
  • The heat can make your digestive system a tad slow so to help it's best to eat light and fibrous foods so you don't have bowel issues
  • Heavy digestion creates more heat
  • Ideally we'd eat many small meals of various fruits and veggies through the day to keep providing energy without overloading the body (not viable for most but worth trying if you can)
  • End the day when it's cooler with a nice steak on the barbeque or have cold meat in a salad for lunch
  • Basically there's a reason we start craving fresh foods in the summer and obviously it also corresponds with the food available for harvest at this time vs the fall for example if we ignore the good food availability we have in the west regardless of the season
Working or staying at home in a cold environment kind of ruins the natural changes in our body in the summer. Especially when the AC makes the place colder than a day where we'd wear a sweater. AC won't make you 600 pounds obviously, but it's one of many things that does throw our bodies out of wack in the west. Now I'm not going to go all hippie and expect us to go "back to nature" or some shit, but I'd suggest you don't keep the AC on too high and make sure you don't start eating many meals of heavy carbs per day this summer. Things these fatties sure as fuck won't do no matter what food they might virtue signal with

Eats more then her skinny friends and finds out her body is not supposed to be thin!? :stress:

Good god, the mental gymnastics these bitches go through. Over time when we eat too much we stretch our stomachs and train our mind to think we need a lot more food than we do. Also, it's common knowledge to take a little break after eating a serving of food cause it takes your brain a bit to catch up with your stomach and say "I'm full!". Or, sometimes you are actually dehydrated instead of hungry. If they simply lowered their calories for one week, they'd see they don't need to gorge themselves. I'm sure this chick will still feel liberated once she's bed bound after the diabeetus takes one of her legs.

A high fat diet also causes hypothalamus inflammation and makes it harder to regulate intake. I do believe some people are naturally prone to eating more - usually the result of growing up in a stressful home or as a defense mechanism. Or for whatever reason, it doesn’t really matter. It’s akin to an alcoholic realizing their friends can wake up the next day after drinking and not think about alcohol while they want to get drunk again, and using this to justify hitting the bottle.

I'm actually pretty surprised WW made this. People get real cagey about kids going on diets after the anorexia epidemic. Kids aren't really in control of their own food choices--they're not the ones buying groceries. Unfortunately that tends to make them prone to disordered dieting behavior, especially if the parents are deathfats and the menu every day is pizza and McDonald's. Only real choice is to not eat or to beg your parents to buy a damn vegetable once in a while.

That's why all the advice aimed at parents is for THEM to change their eating habits to something healthier and become a good model for their kids. Any app really should have been aimed at the parents helping them to make sure their kids eat healthier.

At least the green/yellow/red light thing is based on APA recommendations, I guess.

I'm surprised too, but we have a big child obesity issue in the UK that we didn't have 10-15 years ago. Kids are playing outside less, getting less exercise both at school and at home, and the ready availability of fast food is not helping matters. Where I live it's not uncommon to see kids in school uniform in takeaways after school gets out, buying portions of chips to eat between meals.

We've had things like informative kid-friendly adverts, webpages, apps - even one that can scan products and tell you how much sugar is in stuff relative to how much you should be eating a day. This is just a corporation not a government scheme, so of course it's painted by FAs as all about making money by giving kids "eating disorders" (or y'know, healthy diets) instead of trying to make WW kid-friendly for those who need it.

Is an after school snack really that weird? I don't think teenagers getting fries before dinner is what's making them fat. It's what they're eating for dinner. (Also, out of control sugary drink consumption.)

The snacks add up. A medium serving of fries from McDonalds is already about 340 calories--and a medium there is significantly smaller than average takeaways which come up to 430 calories. That's not even counting the condiments, as ketchup comes in at 15 calories per tablespoon (or 50 kcal per tablespoon for mayonnaise) and kids typically drench their fries in that. Consider also that an average school lunch also ranges between 550-650 calories. These kids are probably going to have another snack once they're home, as well; whether it be fruit, junk, or a dessert after dinner. They eat mindlessly, as a lot of people do. There's a reason Secret Eaters became a thing.

All I can think about is that Slaton video where she claims to have eaten nothing all day, gorges on a massive plate of salad with cheese, bacon, and dressing, then mentions she did in fact have pancakes that morning:

For some reason a lot of people disregard snacks or light meals as calorically significant, but ultimately, all the drinks, snacks, and meals add up. Pair that with how sedentary we've become and no wonder there's an obesity problem.

Yea "graze culture" is a thing. At offices, schools and other gathering spaces food is so cheap that it's often just laying around. Hell, it puts people in a good mood most of the time so it has utility as a social lubricant.

This is why I personally do IF and why I recommend it to folks. It makes saying "no" pretty easy both internally and externally.

The problem with snacks is that they are engineered to be as addictive as possible. People usually don’t stop at one cookie or a handful of chips. All sugar and salt do is make you more hungry than before. And when you’re done with snacking you’re gonna wanna wash it down, and most people will go for a nice, cold can of soda.
