Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Reading this thread the last couple days has been fucking incredible.

Why is it that the naysayers are tripping over themselves to play the game early? Pretty funny.
Actually a lot of people have just argued there's not enough new/novel content to justify the price tag and called it a glorified expansion. That's not the same as saying the game itself would be terrible. Pirating the game is exactly what I would expect a person who makes such and argument to do.

Something that has just occurred to me. All the weapons outside of the Zonai ones (which are just handles meant for you to stick stuff on) are decayed and damaged, they break much faster than before, even the weapons npcs are holding are decayed and rusted.
I read on /v/ that some NPC mentions that malice is corroding their weapons or some shit like that as the supposed explanation for what you describe, and like you said its a way to force you to do the weapon fusion thing

So fusion is their solution to weapon durability, and then they decided to decrease overall weapon durability so that even with fusion the player is in about the same position as in the first game?

The doubling-down here is incredible, and I mean that literally. I can hardly believe they decided to double-down on all of the bad characteristics like this. One of the, apparently seven, new enemies is a fucking tree which, while not bad, shouldn't be a seventh of the new enemies.

Oh well, The Legend of Zelda wasn't my favorite anyway.

All the weapons outside of the Zonai ones (which are just handles meant for you to stick stuff on) are decayed and damaged, they break much faster than before, even the weapons npcs are holding are decayed and rusted. They are quite literally forcing you to use the weapon merge thing, and even when I've merged stuff on to weapons the durability doesn't seem much longer than regular weapons in BotW. I'm going through stuff so quick my weapon inventory is hardly ever really full.

They all have rusted blades, even the description says so

Yeah and I don't know if its because its been years since I played botw but it sounds worse than I remember. Other characters do the forced British accent as well, and a bunch do the 'trying to sound lofty' that you hear from Skyrim mods, which has been mentioned a bunch. It sounds like larpers, or those tik tok cringe compilations or something. I don't know if its the actors, or just horrible direction from Nintendo Treehouse (the root of all evil).
You find the "decent" weapons in the underground near hyrule castle, they still break in 30 hits so lol

The nicest thing I can write about the dark-skinned Hylian ancestors is, from what I've seen, they merely have dark skin, but everything else about them, like facial structure and I assume voices, are white. Dark skin is the most surface-level trait of niggers, literally, but that alone doesn't actually mean anything. However, this is coping, and I don't actually care.

I wasn't going to pay for this game anyway, due to a special arrangement I've that lets me play the games without owning a Nintendo Switch, but I'm not even excited for this game anymore. I've been more strongly anticipating Pikmin 4 anyway.

Also, I genuinely liked Skyward Sword. The tutorials sucked, but it had nice dungeons, fun items, and excellent combat.

Story doesn't really matter in these games, but it still can't be fucking ridiculous like this.

While I'm posting, I still find it to be amusing that Metroid got a better game in Metroid Dread than The Legend of Zelda did this time around. Part of that's surely because Nintendo didn't make it, but instead let a studio that likes Metroid games have the honour.
I have never actually seen a "black" Hylian in the way black humans are yet. Just dark or brown skin color.
There are brown Japanese people and white people irl too you know. It's called tanning, but I guess a lot of nerds don't know too much about going outside.

Xenoblade (fight me) etc.
Xenoblade 1's localization was excellent, because it was done by NOE, Xenoblade X was highly questionable, they even changed extremely import terms just for the west for some reason (Blue Blood -> Mimeosome, Beyond the Logos Artificial Destiny Emancipator -> Builders of a Legacy after the Destruction of Earth, Dolls -> Skell), Xenoblade 2 was better because they at least got british actors, but the american actors in that sound awful, and there were still questionable localization changes (Ontos is incorrect entirely, a different word is even written on the trinity processor and yet they got it wrong), Xenoblade 3 is the same.

All the issues stem from Nintendo Treehouse. Just look at what they did to Fire Emblem, and they seem to have no intent to stop.

Xeno 2 used a lot of non American actors doing American accents and the dub was very rushed. Xenoblade 3 fixed it although several are using American accents (looking at you shai matheson) but overall its better than 2. Its funny because the fag who plays Jin played Luke in the Lego Skywalker Saga and he actually did a great job there so I genuinely think it was the direction that ruined 2.
Regardless I'd rather have it than any of the overhyped overused ppl in Valerie Arem's group (ft. Patrick Seitz who also uses them) and Patricia Summersett (shes pretty irl but she's Canadian doing British accent for Zelda and its......meh. she sounds like she's gasping for air or constipated half the time....compare her Zelda to her role in Assassin's Creed)

Yes, I'm aware. I felt no need to mention it. Plenty of these dark-skinned characters are exactly that, they just seem to be tanned.

The Hylian ancestor could also be explained that way, but she seems a bit too dark for that alone to make sense to me, however.

So no sword flourishes, no hidden moves, still no running and swinging your sword, and no Iaijutsu?

Combine that with a lack of true dungeons, likely the same lack of memorable location themes, your legendary weapons breaking, nigger hylians being a thing, and the game once again starring TwinkLink... yeah, I'm probably gonna have to save some shekels on TotK. Still playing Metroid Prime remastered anyway.
And a lack of interesting or challenging enemies it seems. Only six new enemies, most of which seem to just be bokoblin reskins, and one of them is just a tree you can KO easily.

Darknuts died for this.

I think theres more than 6, Likelikes, the zonai bokoblin reskin, there is a big zonai boss thing, there is a zonai that crafts a weapon together, gibdos, a bokoblin reskin that appears in caves and climbs around, fat moblins, big flying bird things (still die in 1 hit), weird lizard things in the underground, the stupid tree thing, I haven't really been keeping track. More than 6 but a lot are bokoblin reskins.

I haven't seen any lynels at all though, and there are much fewer world bosses.

I was only expecting 1 new enemy type, so having six new ones is good I guess, but I won't forgive them for not including Darknuts, they would fit the setting really well, they could be patroling Hyrule Castle and Akkala Fortress, one could take the Lynel's place in the Colosseum.... but no no we had to have a fucking tree, god damn japs

What about this guy from Skyward Sword?

Kind of weird that he's the only black hylian in an isolated sky civilization that's the size of a cul-de-sac.

Why the fuck they include an tree to fight?
Their the missing Entwives from Lotr they can't find them because Link killed them to stick them to his weapons and then break them a few minutes later trying to kill a Bokoblin...
jokes aside I wouldn't mind the tree that much if there where other mimic enemies, like chests, statues, pots (imagine trying to break a pot only for it to grow legs and attack you) and could serve as a reimagining of the Armos enemy, but as is, a fucking enemy tree seems stupid
