Chris was also openly admitting the affair at that time, although he has recanted those admissions.

My theory - and it's only speculation - is that Barbara refused to talk to the police, so they cannot prove whether the affair was or was not consensual on her part. This protects both her and Chris: since they can't prove that she willingly took part in the affair, they can't win a case against Barbara. Since they also can't prove that she wasn't a willing participant, they can't charge Chris with rape.

Chris spent the whole time in jail in protective custody. That meant he had little to no exposure to other inmates and spent any time outside his cell only accompanied by guards. This isn't the same as solitary confinement, which is used for punishment, because he had access to some small luxuries like the commissary, the rec room, and the library which he was able to borrow books from.

No. First of all Chris said he was able to play basketball by himself in the rec room and he would probably jump up and down while yelling his prayers to be sent home. Second, it's 2023, it's time you all learn how a goddamn camera works. Notice that the photo is brightly lit. This can cause the sensor to be overexposed. The only place you can see detail in the concrete block wall behind Chris is in his shadow. Bright areas of the photo appear white and without detail. The wall, parts of Chris's face, and his pasty arm all look this way. If they had used a shorter exposure, maybe you'd be able to see Chris's arm.

I don't have any definitive reason why she wasn't charged, but my best guess is that they weren't able to prove consent one way or the other.

EDIT: I can imagine a lawyer telling her to just not say anything in order to best protect both herself from an incest charge and her son from a rape charge.

EDIT 2: She also has a history of letting her lawyer speak for her (which is honestly the smartest thing to do). In the Michael Snyder case of 2012, Barbara didn't even want to answer questions like, "Do you understand what you are being charged with?" and asked if her lawyer could answer those questions for her.

If he was ever even seen by another prisoner I am pretty sure the only thought in a dude's head would basically be "what the fuck is up with that retard?" Depends on the group home. It's possibly changed within the last 15 years but I know of many people who've ended up staying in group homes due to mental illness, disability, whatever & they only had a certain allotted time for internet access a day, could only leave at certain times of the day for a certain period of time, had limited cell phone use (often times didn't have smartphones). These were for people who were higher functioning too, not those who had zero ability to take care of themselves.

If that's where Chris is going, the state or whoever is keeping watch of him now would probably find it in not only his best interest but also their best interest for him to not be online, especially if he's going to be living with other people.
