Played them, Berlin and Londer are meh. Enjoyed Boo Lake especially the underwater parts. Good to see Maple Treeway, Peach's Garden is good and has been given the Kalimari Desert treatment where routes can be changed. Merry Mountain is average but suitable for the holidays. Also 3DS Rainbow Road is the best RR.

I can finally play Mario Kart as it was intended, with only blue shells

I finally got to sit down and play the new tracks for a bit.
  • London Loop: This level was alright; there was nothing bad about it but also nothing very exciting either. But I did really like all the details in the cityscape around the mostly-average track.
  • Boo Lake: I'm not sure how I feel about Boo Lake. It was another "alright" level and I really don't get what all the hype is about over this level. The Internet is going nuts over it and it's just average. And the music wasn't anything to phone home about either. Is there some astroturfed nostalgia factor with this track that I am missing?
  • Rock Rock Mountain: Now we're cooking. Rock Rock Mountain was pretty fucking awesome. I really loved the turns in the opening cave section and they provide a lot of strategic ways to block incoming items and mess up the other racers. It also feels big, which I like. I'm hoping for more large levels like this because I think Maka Wuhu would be an awesome addition to this game.
  • Maple Treeway: Great level. Like others have said, I have no idea why the hole in the leaves doesn't line up with the landing zone for the karts. But that's my only complaint. The level is a lot of fun and has some great drifts. Plus Wigglers!

  • Berlin Byways: People have been dumping on this and many of the city levels. And while the London level was a bit mundane, the Berlin level is not. This is a really fun level that is a blast to cruise through. I really can't say enough good things about this track. The music is also good. And I love how the minimap is a fucking mess.
  • Peach Gardens: Good update of a classic level. And I especially like how Nintendo have finally opened up the much-desired blocked off part of the track and put a completely out of place news truck there. Peach Gardens fags BTFO and I love it. Otherwise it's a good level and I am glad we got it.
  • Merry Mountain: Pretty fun course with some neat segments. I really like the long downhill part toward the end, even if I kept landing on green shells (FUCK) for some reason. I guess I was expecting a bit more from this level so to that end it was a little disappointing. But that's my problem. The level is a very good addition to the series.
  • Rainbow Road: We now have enough good Rainbow Road courses to make up for the complete botch job that is Mario Kart 8's Rainbow Road. This version of Rainbow Road is a good challenge with lots of sharp turns and cool obstacles. Plus the varied planetary environment make for a cool trip through space.
So as far as Wave 3 goes, I think it is a success. It is the best showing yet for Nintendo's expanded Mario Kart 8 Deluxe roster. Plus the addition of an item select option is pretty smart and a welcome feature. I give Wave 3 nine awoos out of ten awoos. Really great!

I definitely recommend people pick up the extra tracks if they have not yet done so. With Wave 3 we finally have a really good mix of tracks added to the game. Wave 2 has a ton of fun tracks as well to put into the mix. And while Wave 1 is a bit more contentious among the fans, I actually really like some of the simpler designs from that first release and they add some neat contrast between some of the higher-detail entries from Wave 3 in particular.

As of now we're half-way through the Booster Course Pack and I'm really pleased with the whole thing. Hopefully this trend continues with Waves 4, 5 and 6. Random extras like the item toggle feature also open the door to potential other additions coming as well before all is said and done. Admittedly I won't hold my breath on that, but it's nice to see that Nintendo are tweaking things other than just adding new levels.

Last but not least: PREDICTIONS!!
Toad Factory is still at the top of my list. We need this level in the game.
Maka Wuhu is a nice, large track I'd love to see as well.
Daisy Cruiser is pretty much essential at this point since we've gotten Peach Gardens.
Dino Dino Jungle where you at??
And... something random... Rosalina's Ice World? Or maybe a straightforward Bowser's Castle in the vein of the Super Nintendo tracks that are mostly flat and deceptively challenging.

I just hope by any chance Nintendo unveils new Mario movie tracks added for DLC leading to the Mario movie's release.
