Also, I wish we had a Minecraft server. As long as it wasn't anarchy because I'm a bitch and I don't want anyone to touch my stuff without my permission
It was attempted in 2020. It didn't go particularly well.

Minecraft snapshot 22w24a is out, and it brings with it draconian bullshit.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to be banned from all multiplayer functionality just like in Bugrock for saying FUCK on a minecraft server!
This is going to get the shit abused out of it.

Hey dude, if you enjoy it, I'm not knocking you for it. I, personally, prefer to stick with 1.12.2, but as long as we're having fun, that's what matters, right?

Although I have to admit the new content does seem intriguing, but as @Baraadmirer said, most of the mods that are out are for 1.12.2. Especially in my case, I basically can't play without Galacticraft at this point.

By the way, do you know of any gun mods that play nice with Galacticraft and are Survival-friendly?
Techguns from when I was playing Astroblock 2 seemed to work pretty well might need some configurin on your end though

If it’s human moderation, I feel pity for the poor intern that has to deal with the anarchy servers chat reports. You know some autistic fuck’ll make a bot to spam reports

I feel a lot of these problems could be avoided if they just had the reports go to the Server Owner in the case of Private Servers - least that way it’d be treated like the spam 99% of these reports’ll be - but yeah, shit idea all around.

So everything I've ever heard is that Minecraft is only good online, and with mods.

I've only played the Switch version (none of my PCs are good enough to run the PC builds). Thing is, beforehand I had played Dragon Quest Builders and I'll be honest... DQ Builders was better. I could list the ways, but here's a big one:

When you want to craft, you don't need to find the exact chest you put the item in. As long as its in a chest in your town (or maybe even just a chest you built that's in the current area), the game will recognize that you have the ingredient and use it as if you had it on you.

But a big thing is Minecraft just feels kinda pointless. Yes I can build great things... but there's no real reason to do so. If I want to create for the sake of creating, I'd rather use a pen and paper, not a program that forces all my designs to stick to this "everyone is one of those bad guys from Gumby" aesthetic.

Which, I really hate that Minecraft popularized that look, by the way. It's not retro-looking, its just freaking ugly. I get so tired of staring at block-people all day.

That's not true. Sure the Minecraft can be a real hoot with other players and there are some really fun mods out there, but the base game is just as good if just want some comfy simple fun.

A part of the fun of the game is you gathering your crafting materials and placing them in a certain order in the crafting grid to make what you want. Resource management and all that.

If that doesn't do it for you, then I don't what to tell you other than use the recipe book for quick crafting.

You build in the game to avoid the dangers of the night but, even then, Minecraft is a sandbox game. The only reason you would want to build is because you want to as that is the nature of the genre.

There are established objectives in the game to work towards but, again, it is ultimately up to you to decide if want to do them.

It sounds like sandbox games (or Minecraft's particular brand of it anyway) isn't your cup of tea.

There are resource packs for that. It doesn't fix the blocky look, but it does make things look nicer if you don't care for base game's look.

I literally just want to add functional guns to my game. I'm not looking for in-depth customization or anything. Just working shooters.
Well if it's 1.12, there is quite a variety.

Modular Warfare has god-tier gun physics, but no crafting recipes. It is a content pack based mod like Flans. It is mostly used on multiplayer server.

Expansive Weaponry is a lot like Modular Warfare. Model recipes are available with the packs. But it is much less developed, and has a number of incompatibilities.

Techguns adds some industrial blocks, and lots of guns and armours. These are mostly inspired by old shooter games. In my opinion, its the best fit for a Galacticraft themed modpack.

Flans Mod is broken in 1.12, and you need specific information on how to get past some of the bugs in the content packs.

MrCrayfish's gun mod is more suited for vanilla-style modpacks. There are also several content packs that exist for it.

Matchlock Guns contains flintlock 2d guns and placeable cannons.

Vic's Modern Warfare is a mod with plenty of content and features, but also plenty of bugs. Gun physics are cranky. It is also closed source. You literally need another mod if you want to modify the gun damage.

Two funny things about this:
  1. Microsoft and Mojang have flat-out admitted that they're focusing on avoiding false-negatives over false-positives, meaning that they're going to lean towards banning things that fall into a grey area.
  2. Several hack client creators have stated that they're already working on adding an "Auto-Report" feature to their clients, meaning that you could potentially have accounts constantly sending out reports for every user that's on a server, for every message they send.
So all it'll take is a single underpaid Pajeet (as let's face it, they've 100% outsourced the moderation to somewhere in India to cut costs) deciding to accept a bunch of reports without really reading them, and your account is now banned from accessing ANY multiplayer server, or potentially even accessing the game at all. The only people cheering on this new addition are troons who will finally be able to get people banned for saying that they'll never be a woman.

I run a private realm server that i pay Microsoft for. Two friends are invited, and they come in occasionally to say hello and break balls.

Last month, my buddy hops in and uses some very colorful language at me, causing me to respond with "shut up, darkie". The word "darkie'" comes up censored. We forget about it and carry on. A few days later, a login attempt fails. I've caught a weeklong ban for typing 'darkie'. I appealed, and was sent a very curt letter about the enormous harm done by racism.

No person was harmed by the word, obviously, but it never occurred to me that they were monitoring all speech on all private realms at all times. We don't use the chat function in game anymore, at all. Hopefully everyone is aware of this. If you type a racism on your private server and nobody is around to hear it, you may very well be banned. Slurs against females did not result in the same consequence.
Big if true, if they're monitoring servers and banning accounts without even requiring reports, that basically means any anarchy server is now dead. Also it means that chances are said data is being harvested and sold by Microsoft.

The report system, from the looks of it, actually looks for the context of the message reported.

They even improved the system to look for more context in the latest pre-release candidate among other things.

Like I said, If you feel the need to be problematic at any given opportunity in chat, of course you're going to be the one most affected by this new system.

If a troon is going onto an anarchy server just report people left and right, then they're practically begging to get their ass bullied to hell and back.

That only seems to be the case for Realm servers, which are more private and controlled. Public servers are way too abundant for Microsoft to monitor all of them.

Saying it now, the clampdown on java's entirely the fault of 2b2t and all the griefing junkies and youtube grifters from it. None of this was on radar until packs of retards expressed their disdain at DHE OLDEST BERBER ON MINEGRAFD :DDDDD not updating to 1.18 by port scanning and wrecking unrelated servers (one of them potentially being one ran by the actual jeb) and youtubers like good ol' cue ball Fit dramatizing it and flooding the news with reports of 2b2t being full of evil hackers. You had one job and failed, you mongoloids, enjoy the account bans and subsequent increase in black market alt buying.

Flans, techguns and mr.Crayfish guns mod. Plus a few tech mods like Immersive engineering and matter overdrive which add guns but aren't the focus

Looks like the update has been delayed:

To the surprise of absolutely no one.

Everyone's up in arms about the one main feature 1.19.1 introduces and it's not like they bothered to irom it out even slightly from the looks of it. So far I'm seeing that the chat filter even goes out of its way to work in singleplayer, while still suffering from the "Scunthorpe problem" and allowing one to use command blocks to outright frame people.

That's just for Bedrock edition. The game is always online there, as that is how they can prevent players from giving even their worlds vulgar names.

Java's singleplayer has always been offline. With the chat filter only extending to Realms (and even then you can turn that off).

In other news, new pre-release! As well as an article giving some more clarification on how this system works.
