Minecraft

But then of course after the 1.13 rewrite happened the modding community fucking balkanized so now we have like ten different modloaders
Immediately after, yes. But now people are basically using either Fabric or Forge (or if they're a really woke dangerhair tranny, Quilt which is a fork of Fabric because "muh transphobia") and other modloaders are irrelevant.

Still, this bifurcation of modloaders is a massive hit to the modding community, because some devs will bother to make versions for both Forge and Fabric, some will only do them for Forge, and some will only do them for Fabric. And unlike the Risugami's Modloader-Forge era, Forge and Fabric cannot work in tandem.

But then again, all the good mods and all the good modpacks are stuck on 1.12.2, because that's where all the good stuff still resides. Modern Minecraft versions have, what, Create? Mods with forced troon shit into the game?

Fuck all that noise I'm staying on 1.12.2 and older, you can have your in-game trans bees and being reminded for most of the year about fag and troon shit in the main menu because Vazkii is a troon. All the shit Mojang made for modern versions got backported to 1.12.2 and 1.7.10 by modders anyway if you want that shit.

One of the biggest shames about the modding situation is there exists no version where you can find the perfect mod combination. 1.64. and 1.7.10 were major milestones with an incredible number of mods, too. But a lot of those died off (og dimensional doors, baubles, that one that added wizard towers and the one that added dino fossils). Haven't kept up with the very latest modding stuff because honestly, just getting it to work in the first place seems to have got a lot harder.

I've tried to make modpacks for the nu-versions that just remove all the gay features that serve no purpose, and the amount of work required is just crazy. It's insane how many mods you need to even make the new versions playable without changing any gameplay. You need like 5 performance mods, a bajillion mods that add optifine features that are now standalone mods because fabric modders are gay, you need the anti chat report mod, then on top of that I have to find multiple resource packs to fix programmer art because I hate the new textures and their blurry overshaded look, and if I want old pigmen I need said optifine feature mods, and I also install a resource pack to replace the nu-music with C418 Volume Alpha/Beta tracks. Honestly I just drop optifine in and call it a day when not using any feature mods that are all on fabric but apparently optifine is muh evil now according to the tranny fabric modders for some reason.

They don't say Optifine is evil. They just say it's a piece of shit in nu-versions. And in my experience, it is.

Maybe sp614x said he hates niggers somewhere or something, I wouldn't know and I don't give a shit to look for it.

Actually OptiFine just fucking sucks for modern versions due to how invasive its changes are even on the server side such as with BlockEntity.class. Server-side functionality of mods such as AE2 and Powah has been known to break with OptiFine installed — including cables from Powah not being able to connect to their mod's own machines — and there is literally nothing that devs can do to fix it because of OptiFine being closed source.

The entire reason people vouch for Sodium and its Forge ports (currently Embeddium) is because they're open source and don't fucking suck this hard.

The freaks at GTNH keep backporting shit to 1.7.10 or rewriting it if source isn't available. The best thing about 1.7.10 is mojang can't fuck it up which is a major part about keeping mods working. Hearing that Mojang rewrote their entire shit three times indicates to me that they don't know what the fuck they're doing; you really probably don't need to do a rewrite, just fix things as you go. A rewrite to me sounds like they lost anyone who knew what the fuck was going on. (Technically the rewrote it a number of other times if you count mobile and bedrock and whatnot).

And you can take Thaumcraft 4 from my cold, dead hands. Nothing else compares.
The Trial chamber things are going to be the exact same as the Warden in the end. The players will completely ignore the linear layout of them and just strip mine them all away, leaving just the spawners. Then they will use water and stuff to move AFK players around (more players = more efficient and better rewards, like they said) to activate the spawners and then the mobs will drop and be auto killed, then the spawners will shoot out diamonds and emeralds and it will be an AFK diamond farm. Following this Mojang is going to completely gimp it hard after the first snapshot and then in the end the rewards will be meaningless garbage and nobody will ever even touch the Trials at all because there is no reason to do them.

This happened with the Warden, this happened with Raids, this happened with Bastion ruins, this happened to the cave ore gen overhaul, its going to happen again, because Mojang will never learn that adding linear activities to a game that only autistic metaslaves play is never going to end in the way they want.
What's batshit is that Twilight Forest added gated content to minecraft, what, eight years ago? It's not terribly hard to work out how it needs to be done.

to be honest, without their autism driving this backporting GTNH wouldn't be as much fun as it is. (if you enjoy spending 1 irl hour building a basic lathe just because its more efficient then using a file)

You know I used to really like this game, but I'm just a bit too tired of it now, despite having not touched it in months, there's not much to like anymore.
The guys making it are extremely lazy, the friends I used to play it with are long gone, the servers were pretty bland and samey last time I checked, the only updates just add random modded looking junk from Mojang's trash bin once a year, and it only ever just works as a novelty here and there instead of adding to the game, and for some reason there appear to be gang wars between modding clients or some shit? I don't even know what all that's about.

I play Hypixel Skyblock but that's about it. It's not very much like actual Minecraft, it's basically a Minecraft MMO.

It's fine, render distance isn't very high and the framerate is 30fps with drops and there is no 3d mode and the world is pretty small. If it's all you have then sure, but bedrock is on Phones and the Switch with modern updates (lol) and unlimited worlds
I played it and I guess I can now definitively say that Minecrafts core gameplay is entertaining enough in general, that even a pretty technically limited version, even if more or less feature complete and ported extremely competently, is still fun.
