King of Fighters is the only series that didn't sell out, at least to these levels of faggotry. I mean that's fair. I just feel Tekken has gotten so bad with every game since 6 and progressively gets worse every new one.

Problem is Alien and friends could have been a slot for an actual MK character who could have use those styles like Drahmin if Boon bothered to give Drahmin a good design. Guests are awful in the long run because they will be copyright hell in the future (DOA5 just lost Mai, but she's still in Dead on Arrival 6 for now).

What I mentioned above is mainly surface level stuff, but pros nonetheless, that game has a lot of good that never gets acknowledged & way less bad than the shit it underservedly gets. It's also the last time MK had something resembling of goodness in it, it's been downhill since, which MKX could be blamed in a way too.

MKX was the first to push woke shit and its non woke shit wasn't better:

• Buying instant fatalities on the shop and Shinnok if you don't want to play through the fucking game
• Killing off Mileena and Baraka (I think Rain died too)
• Goro was so fucking bland, garbage in the meta, and had no relevance in MK despite he's a legendary mid-boss
• Certain skins were only available through certain playstyles
• Most playstyles were ass in meta, and Boon didn't fix shit cuz Sonic Fox and Perfect Legend killed the tourney scene (Thanks, Sonic).
• Some skins just sucked, and didn't fit characters
• Cassie just wasn't likable

X kicked off the live service microtransactions, but like you said it was probably more playable than 11 or 1. The insta-fatalities are bad, but $12-20 for a fucking finisher that should have been in the game is much worse.

That furfag was technically right to call out Harada for making Eddy a disc-locked character, but his reasons were retarded. Eddie was immediately available with Kuma, Lee, and Miguel in Tekken 7. There's no excuse for Harada to do this disc-locked character bullshit.

Eddy's been a main roster character since his debut. I get why people would be upset over relegating him to DLC. The way the furfag approached Harada over racial reasons instead of approaching it wondering why he was DLC and not on the main roster really was fucking stupid. Tekken 8 has been pretty okay with me so far in my time with it, and I haven't noticed anything too weird or off about it (besides Devil Jin being OP as fuck). I've been enjoying my time with it. Far more than I ever did with MK1. Fuck, I regret buying that piece of shit.

I bought that and X GOTY editions for the bargin bin price and glad I never spent a penny more.

I did the same thing with Tekken 7. It was meh so I'm lukewarm to the idea of buying Tekken 8 until it's bargin bin too.

Eh. Some games don't click with folks. If you feel like you got burned with 7, don't feel like you HAVE to buy 8. A friend of mine gifted me Tekken 8, so that's partly one of the main reasons why I don't feel so weird about playing it.

Ultimately it's your time and money, dude. I'd just wait for a sale after the first season of DLC has released and see if it's worth it then. If not? Ignore it and move on.

Every single one of us has to practice discretionary spending now due to all this weird ESG shit. I feel like I got burned with MK1, so I'm gonna look out and be more wary of the next game (if they even get a chance for it).

They've had black characters before. Lucky and Heavy D from the USA sports team, Seth, Nelson, Zarinha, and Bandeiras from the Latin America (but really Brazil) team, Richard Meyer the capoeira guy, Duck King the breakdance guy with a pet chick (like, actual baby chicken), for some reason the clones or DNA-modified characters got darker skin, and along with Dolores in the last game, they added Isla, who is Chilean but for some reason a lot blacker than the average Chilean. And Mexicans, Thailandese, etc.
It's a worldwide tournament, it's to be expected.
