Not that anyone even contributes to my projects but my CoC is usually "post any opinions or anything identifiable whatsoever and you're permafucked" in so much lawyerese.
It's guaranteed to filter out troons because they can't go two words without saying they're trannies and/or offended by your existence.

It's only fitting that it happened to Gnome. Gnome (aside from disasters such as the famous women's outreach program that got spun off after burning through cash) has possibly the worst reputation among Linux users. Nobody, and I mean nobody who actually uses Linux uses Gnome 3. Now MATE (a Gnome 2 fork) and Cinnamon (a Gnome 3 fork before it became too shit) are being used more by actual Linux users than Gnome 3 is. Gnome's not only a literal example of "get woke go broke", but it also is an example of what happens when you fuck your users over so hard that nobody will defend you.
You can find fanboys for systemd who have arguments ranging from "get with the times gramps" to "lol sysvinit is garbage", but good luck finding anyone defending Gnome 3. As others here have said, Gnome 3's userbase is those installing Ubuntu and not realizing that there are other Ubuntu variants that aren't bloated to shit and literally nobody else.
But hey, they founded an outreach program that literally says you can apply for a grant/internship if you troon out. That's advancing the cause of taking down Microsoft and Apple, right?

This is unsurprising, I've seen a lot of code of conducts like this, I think it's becoming the default if you search on GitHub for something to copy paste to your project.
Nobody has really liked GNOME since version 3 came out and completely changed the paradigm, although it was still preferred over Ubuntu's in-house DE before it was given up.
KDE, XFCE, LXDE, openbox, i3, awm are all good alternatives. If you want stability, use Debian. If you want bleeding edge, use Arch. There's no point in using something else for consumer-use except to just try out.
Contribute to these projects, join their forums and IRC channels. Keep them alive and show there's interest in good software, not good idpol.

No I will continue using GNOME because it came installed by default and I am too lazy to do any of that. I will continue to use it until there is a good reason for me not to. Linux gatekeeping and elitism is so fucking annoying.

Two things these balding trannies will never have.
Touching women's bodies without their consent is a problem in a lot of places, sure. Being out in public with a friend's wife while she was pregnant sure was a doozy. People were touching her abdomen constantly without asking first, and it was a mix of both men and women doing it.
That said, it's real easy to write a rule that says "don't touch people without their permission" without making it fucking weird.

Can I point out this approach is really western-centric? Being white doesn't immediately guarantee being an American or even from a country that used to be colonialist, who do you think Eastern Europeans colonised? What about a Greek contributor being harassed by a Turk or Slovakian by black American, would they immediately default to defending "PoC"? They've got an international project people all over the world contribute to, yet they fixate on American issues, in the most American manner. San Fran progressivism is bullshit.

It's a mystery. They don't even have any position to be arrogant from. Anything good in GNOME is flat out stolen from better things, and the current devs have done nothing but make the whole thing even more fucking garbage than it already was.
