Do a Mario Bros collection that includes the NES version, but the Arcade and GBA versions are $40 DLC.
Don't forget one of my personal nostalgiagasms, Super Mario Bros Deluxe for GBC.

If they'd just do that but without the screen crunch. I don't ask for much.
Someone made a version of Super Mario Bros for GBC where instead of crunching the screen, they made little custom sprites that resemble Super Mario Land. It has a bunch of extra levels too:

I haven't actually played it yet, but it looks pretty good. The physics are way off, though.

Every now and again I remember "hey, they released this the other year, I should check it out" Maybe it's Super Mario RPG, maybe it's the Paper Mario TTYD remaster, maybe it's Link's Awakening remaster. I'll go to the eshop and... it's 50 fucking quid.

It's completely bizarre. They released a bunch of AA remaster games to pad out the game catalog and then price them as if they were an ultra AAA first party that was released this week.

Mario Odyssey is nearly ten years old and still priced like it's this Summer's big blockbuster hit.

I know this is just Nintendo in general and it's only a matter until they create a fucking Nintendo Credit Card controller, but these faggots deserve to be cremated alive.
I'll regale you with a tale from a few years back when Gamestop had a holiday sale of getting a free game of equal or lesser value when you bought two new games, sounds good until you read the teeny tiny fine print that says "offer not valid on first party Nintendo games". How very odd and very specific I thought I mean who else or whenever has such a thing happened it just seemed like a dick move to me.

So how about those Zelda/Metroid 40th anniversary celebrations?

With the new Pokémon Gen 10 totally not being delayed til 2027. What the fuck is coming out on this thing this year?
  • Pokémon Pokopia - March 5th
  • Yoshi & The Mysterious Book - Spring 2026
  • Splatoon Raiders - 2026
  • Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave - 2026
Then on Switch 1 we got:
  • Tomodachi Life Living The Dream - April 16th
  • Rhythm Heaven Groove - 2026
Past that, you have the Switch 2 Editions:
  • Super Mario Bros Wonder - March 26th

A decent amount for this early in the year, though a Direct really should have come and expanded the list by now. I enjoy my Switch 2, hell I think it has some of the best titles of certain series in it, but they really do need to fix it up. The device lacks variety with 3/5 exclusives being Mario adjacent, and 4/5 being titles more geared towards younger audiences. It also lacks the big hitter title still, that real standout game typically filled by 3D Mario or Zelda, though other games like Wii Sports have filled before.

3D Mario is likely happening this year given the perfect timing to build off movie hype - similar to Wonder. Xenoblade is another one that seems like it would be in perfect positioning for this year. Past that, it is really a gamble….

Arguably Switch getting some late life titles will be more interesting as I think Nintendo will pull out some more D-list IP. Still holding out that Hotel Dusk will return. Wouldn’t be surprised to see some other weirdos in there, maybe a Style Savvy or a Kid Icarus Uprising port to follow @Never Scored

I beat the final boss in DK Bananza today. It was a lot of fun, though it started to drag a bit at the end.

The post-game is pretty neat and the emerald rush DLC is actually very very good and extremely fun. Very surprised by that. Usually challenge modes feel pretty shallow, but they nailed this.

I wish I could forget the last few hours of Bananza and experience it for the first time all over again. Not that the rest of the game isn't great, but the endgame put it into GOTY territory for me.

Yeah. The early game is good. But after the mid-game encounter, everything gets better and better and better.

And now in the post-game with all the skills (and a whole new tier of abilities to unlock) the options for exploration are significant.

Rhythm Heaven Groove - 2026
Literally the only thing that tickles my fancy.

My switch has been collecting dust in my room for like a month and a half. F-Zero 99 isn't doing anything for me anymore. I 100% Super Mario Wonder. I got Princess Peach Showtime for Christmas and as much as I try I can't be fucked to do the post-game because it's just going through the entire game AGAIN just to find hidden ninjas and do boss challenges, and the game is already a slog without the post-game. New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe just bores me to death. I might go back to Super Mario 3D World, but I'm not in the mood for repetitive stages with the rest of the cast to 100% it at the moment. Everything else has a PC version, which I've been glued to more.

RHG might be the one thing that makes me pick up my switch again, unless I get another game as a gift before then.

Nigger Emblem: Sheboon's Weave? Can't see myself even making fun of it for long.

Goytendo hires all that talent to do piecemeal lines for FEH over 9 years, giving all the classic/GBA FE characters voices - and they won't even add voice acting to the rereleases of the GBA games, let alone remake and release FE4/5 into the west for the first time. They had the entire formula all ready to go with the Echoes brand and did nothing with it at the height of FE's popularity. Old nintendo, for better or worse, would have had multiple games cooking under that sub-series. FE Echoes: Lineage of Kings, FE Echoes: Thracia 776 etc. that kind of thing. FE fans would have been cumming in their short pants to see games like Genealogy done with the production values of Shadows of Valentia. But what do the fans get? A mediocre "series celebration" with Engage, infinite gacha slop, some old games rereleased under the "You Will Own Nothing" subscription model, and goytendo absolutely retreating back to milk 3Houses again with Negroid Emblem: Dindu Weaves because Engage didn't meet sales expectations.

Just greed and laziness and fear all around from modern goytendo, taking no risks, BOTW'ing every franchise, trying to make as many shekels as possible with the least expended effort. Too afraid to give the hardcore fans what they truly want (Prime 4), too afraid to plan out year long celebrations (like the year of Luigi), shoving all their energy into the "Become Disney" plan and shitty CGI movies. Sad.
Still holding out that Hotel Dusk will return
Don't give me hope bitch, it'd just be one of those slap dash jap-company-but-outsourced-chink-staff remakes like trace memory was. Here's something though, if you're emulation master race, you can play Hotel Dusk's unreleased sequel right now, in english. It had a pal release, which means even if it didn't come stateside the entire thing is available and translated. Ahh the glories of emulation.
